I didn't have the cheese cake but the carrot cake was the best I think I have ever had. The brunch dishes we had were well presented and delicious. I ate on the porch which is very nice. They have a new smoker which was evident in the air but not bothersome. It was truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time at a reasonable price. We were seated promptly when we arrived and the staff was friendly and competent throughout the evening. The chef even came out for a chat and to ask how we were enjoying our dining experience. The food was excellent; somewhat gourmet without being "over the top"! Great bloody mary made from juicing a variety of veges...tomato, kale, beets, etc. Very fresh flavor. Excellent.
Though I've seen prettier poached eggs, the eggs benedict was great. Being a vegetarian, I substituted their "garlicy kale" for the ham. Everyone is very friendly, pleasant and helpful, the food we had was all exquisite, and I really enjoy the atmosphere: with the gregariousness of a pub, a beautiful view to the Southwest, tables that are spaced properly, and nice old chairs of all kinds that are sturdy, yet have lots of character. I can imagine coming here time and time again. This would be an incredible spot in the summer, as the restaurant is perched up high on the land and overlooks the spire of the church and the town, and you can watch the sunset. The have a few vegetarian / vegan entrees but they could do with more. I saw right away that they hit the mark. Food was great and the kids enjoyed it as well. The food is very good and the pretzel appetizer is amazingly tasty! The only suggestion or criticism I have would be to expand the menu for vegetarians. The only entree for a vegetarian was the mac and cheese. While it was good additional options would be nice as well.
