A Modern Approach to Southern-Inspired Cuisine

Aside from the classic cocktail, a highball is a train conductor’s signal to depart at full speed. It was how Central Florida’s abundant harvests moved from field to table, an iconic symbol of the region’s agricultural might. Highball & Harvest (H&H) pays homage to this legacy, with menus laden with ingredients from local farms, as well as our own green-growing efforts. We pluck fresh produce from our on-site 7,000- square-foot garden at Whisper Creek Farm. Handcrafted cocktails are infused with seasonal fruits and herbs, and create a culinary adventure that is as inspiring as it is memorable.

Valet parking is available and will be validated in the restaurant

We had made reservations at Highball and Harvest months ago before it opened to celebrate our anniversary, and it was nothing less than amazing! Our served Robbie was very informative of the house-crafted cocktails, provided great explanations of all of the dishes offered and gave us interesting information regarding local farms where they purchase some of their ingredients from. We had the shrimp & grits and the blackened grouper, both of which were out of this world. We look forward to making this one of our "Go-To" restaurants! Thank you for a great dining experience!

The food was amazing, from the Parker house rolls (a must) to the salads, entrees (skirt steak and shrimp and grits) and dessert. This is a must visit place! Excellent ambiance, service, and food. Don't be concerned that Highball is located in a hotel as you immediately forget about it as soon as you step foot into the restaurant and besides, it is in the Ritz, which also happened to have live music we enjoyed after dinner on Saturday night.

The wait staff is highly knowledgable and very personable, going well above and beyond in celebrating my birthday. The food is imaginative and flavourful - very fresh ingredients, classics done with finesse, and a few twists thrown in here and there. Highly recommend any seafood they serve. All in all a great experience. They also have seasonal menus, which makes repeate visits a worthwhile consideration.

Fantastic dining experience! Unusual & lip-smacking-good blackberry cocktail, wine from casks so each glass is fresh, & a variety of craft beers. Food was exceptional - beet salad w/3 kinds of beets & fresh pea shoots, skirt steak-VERY BEST ever eaten, & blackened grouper-superb! Accompaniments on each plate very unique, very tasty & perfectly suited to the main feature. Keynote here is farm to table with a touch of the South. The farms are listed and many ingredients are right out of the Ritz's own "back-forty" garden. We were very favorably surprised by this complete redo of the former Vineyard restaurant at the Ritz. We had always enjoyed its food, service & ambiance. H&H is even BETTER! Ckout special definition of "Highball" on Menu.

We booked an early business dinner reservation. Wait staff pushed pushed to get us processed when we were the only people seated then abandoned us when the dining room filled. Either understaffed, undertrained or underexperienced. I noticed that someone from one table in the outer rings of the bar had to get up and go the the 2 bartenders chatting it up with themselves to ask for a waiter to serve the table. The food did not redeem the experience. We still had a 3 hour dinner.

I loved the ambiance of this place. Really nice, on par with the Ritz but suit and tie not needed. The specialty drinks were pricey but were also really good. Food was excellent as was the service and friendliness.

Delicious. Kickin' deviled eggs were a treat as was boiled peanut baked beans. The house made pimento spread was exceptional. All plate presentations were creative and service was very good well paced. Arrive early and enjoy a crafted cocktail at the bar. The bar menu compliments the appetizers quite well.

We arrived and the hostess was seating another couple. A server jumped up to the stand and seated us by the window. Great employee training and enthusiasm. Unique bar drinks can't me missed. Cask wines are a hard-to-find treat. Absolutely beautiful decor. My wife's grouper was perfectly cut, cooked, seasoned and presented. Chef has taken Southern themes to a new level. Better than anything I've seen in NY, Napa, anywhere.

Hinted of Southern Comfort Food with a twist. They missed the mark. But its was delicious and well presented. We had Skirt Steak and Chicken Fried Chicken, both were very good. Andouille and Duck Gumbo was amazing! If you like food with imagination this is your place.

We had an anniversary dinner at Highball and Harvest and it was perfect. Server Angelica did a brilliant job and make the experience memorable. We had such a great time, we returned the next evening. (staying at the hotel). I enjoyed seafood (swordfish) and corn chowder to start. My husband had a gigantic two "patty" cheeseburger which he said was the best he had ever had. I tried the cheeseburger the second evening and it was divine!

  • Wine On Cask (Tap)!! Southern Flair

We went here because we had heard some of the buzz around the eccelectic southern menu and for the wine on tap. I am tired of all the 'wine bars' that have 30 wines by the glass that have been open for 4 days and kept on the back bar above room temperature. (Florida room temperature is not 'wine temp'!) H&H has a beautiful (12) wine on tap system that keeps the whites crisp and fresh and the reds cool and lush! The food is a wonderful mix of southern classics presented in a smart way. If you do nothing, go for the chef's own beef jerky! Tender and flavorful! We wanted to take a bag home with us! They have a nice happy hour menu, as well. We will go back to try brunch next Sunday.
