  • "We were out to celebrate and wanted a vibrant place with great food and got it! The service was wonderful too. The place has great energy and we enjoyed ourselves with a much needed night out."

  • "I have been going here for well over 10 years and it's consistently fantastic. It is one of my go to places if I'm looking for a special night out! You will not be disappointed. You can bring your own wine S - T for a $5 corkage fee which is great as well!"

  • "I have been to this restaurant many times and always love the food."

  • "I went with two friends and we went with the intention of Leaving with leftovers. We ordered four Appetizers, we loved them all the special of the day was a home made dumpling which was a group favorite. The menu was a bit daunting especially for the less decisive among us. We took most of our entrees home with us and even got dessert to go. While not an inexpensive meal it is worth treating yourself to a nice night out."

  • "We have been going to the High Street Caffe as long as it has been at it's current location (and even before). It is one of our favorite restaurants in this area (or anywhere for that matter). The abience is funky and comfortable and the food is consistently wonderful. The menu is varied with excellent specials and their fix price menu during the week is a great deal. It is fairly small so make a reservation and enjoy!"

  • "Since this was rated #4 in West Chester, with moderate prices, we gave it a try. The fact that they let us book on Open Table, and had the time we wanted was a real plus. Menu is very nice; great if you like Cajun and pretty good if you don't. The service was incredible. Marina was our head wait person, and she was incredible; passionate & professional. But the entire staff chipped-in. We waited for nothing. Items appeared as if by voodoo magic. Soft drink was in a big glass, which made me very happy. My crawfish etoufee was awesome (hope I spelled that right)."

  • "This is our favorite place for birthdays and out-of-town guests. Why haven't I tried the bourbon chicken & shrimp before?! Because I'm so obsessed with their perfect scallops…New favorite drink is the Purple Rain. Thanks for another great dinner at High St Caffe."

  • "The food was very good, however, the closeness of the tables and the nearby bar made the noise level very high."

  • "It was so crowded you could barely move and we had to park 2 blocks away. But, the food is always good !"

  • "The food was Great, the table just like requested, and band The Sermon! that played after was fantastic!"

  • "We have always loved this place but last sat night we left very disappointed. We were at a round high top table--even worse than a square one. We barely had room for the bread basket and drinks, let alone our plates. The drinks were not good and served in water glasses. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she looked at me like I was crazy. She was not very friendly and barely smiled all night. I ordered a dish with chicken, shrimp and scallops and asked to replace the scallops with more chx and/or shrimp. They gave me sausage instead. This place has always been excellent so I'm hoping this was just a fluke b/c there was nothing good about this last visit. Best to go with a group so you don't get stuck at one of those ridiculous tables."

  • "We have lived in the West Chester area for almost 20 years and have been going to the High Street Cafe for most of those years, but not too much recently. It turns out that there is a reason. We arrived at 7:30 for our 7:30 reservation and were told by a dazed receptionist that she had no idea when we might be seated. Indeed, the place was jumping. About 20 minutes of uncertainty and patience was rewarded, but not much. Service throughout was frequent and friendly. Food was consistently slow. The gumbo was mildly seasoned and seemed to have been thickened with cornstarch. It was not a helpful move. The crawfish on the caesar salad were served limp and at room temperature. it would seem that the years have not been kind."

  • "My wife and I had dinner this past Saturday night and the whole experience was great. Our food was excellent, the beer list was huge and affordably priced for the quality. It was very busy yet we never felt forgotten by our server. Overall a great night."

  • "Food wasn't as good this time as it usually is...new chef maybe? But still pretty good. Better experience this time with waitstaff as well."

  • "we found the food to be very good and different from the typical menu.. No need to go to New Orleans as this food is just as good.."

  • "Love this place for real Cajun food!! Mmmm. They are excellent !"

  • "This was our second time to eat at High Street and we enjoyed our meal. One our guest is from Louisiana and had been at Mardi Gras in New Orleans the day before. He was very complimentary of the food and said it was good considering it was not in New Orleans. All of our food and drinks were excellent. My only negative comment is that the restaurant is small and feels a bit claustrophobic (especially when full). Other than that it is a nice change from the normal restaurants in the Philly Metro area and it is unique."

  • "Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. We are frequent goers of high street and this time we were VERY unhappy with our experience. My husband' boar chop was WAY over cooked. My diabolo was fair. The Voodoo crawfish was wonderful as usual. Based on this experience it will be a while before we go back."

  • "Love this place, and so glad it's in our backyard. Service is always good, and the food is fabulous. Always willing to accommodate special requests. Deserts are insane! And lots of special martins. I always try to choose something new. Best scallops I can get - cooked perfectly, sweet, and amazing. Specials are fresh and creative. Highly recommend! One of our favorites!"

  • "Been coming here for years. The food is always outstanding. The service is always consistently good. The only complaint I have is that it is a tight space. But hey, we made friends with folks at the table next to us, so we turned a negative into a positive. I highly recommend High Street Cafe/Vudu lounge to anyone who loves great food."

  • "I've been eating at the high street cafe when all they use to serve was brunch. The food is usually awesome and so is the service. Although, this nyt was disappointing. It took over 20 minutes for our appetizers to come out. My ahi tuna was cold, it wasnt cold brefore when I ordered it. Had to ask for bread repeatedly and had to ask for our drinks over and over again. So that was our night at HSC."

  • "What a GREAT surprise this was. The cajun perogies were so flavorful without overdoing it. My hubby had a brisket sandwich and I had chicken taco's Absolutely fabulous! Only small drawback was the waitress, nice enough but kept forgetting she had a table in the front."

  • "The shrimp and crawfish jambalaya and the seafood fra diavlo are delicious. Save room for the cinnamon ice cream topped with fresh strawberries and raspberries for dessert."

  • "food was excellent - very spicy which is how cajun food should be and how we like it. A lot of variety and the dishes are more interesting than standard restaurant fare. A little crowded but every table was filled so they need as many seatings as possible. I recommend a reservation for a weekend dinner. Service was excellent. All the waitstaff worked together and you could request anything from anyone of them and they were all pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely be back!"

  • "For someone who typically does not like spicy, this meal was adventurous for me. It was very flavorful and I enjoyed it very much! Would definitely go again! My 12 year old daughter stuck with the basic chicken tenders and liked them but for young kids who are not adventurous eaters this is not for them. My 14 year old son loved it as much as his dad. It's my husbabd's favorite restaurant and his birthday request. Great beer selection."

  • "In West Chester visiting from Los Angeles for the week and exploring all the local restaurants. This place was our fifth stop and is clearly the best in WC. Unlike the others, this place is more then a pub with pub food. It has the great beer selection, but also delivers on outstanding food and service. We were very impressed and were happy to get a quality meal after a week of searching. Parking was a little challenging, but that was probably more about our ignorance than their issue."

  • "Go to High Street regularly and usually wait15-20 minutes to be seated for our reservation. This time it took 1 1/2 hours from time of reservation to recieve food. almost a one hour wait to be seated and then 30 minutes to recieve meal from time we ordered. Bummer. I like this place but no food is worth that wait."

  • "My friends and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. It was very crowded, but luckily for us we had made a reservation. The food was excellent, as we love their blackened chicken and crab cakes. The service was good and it was nice that we didn't feel like we were being pushed out at all. The only drawback to High a Street is the tight tables and loudness. But we'll definitely be going back :)"

  • "We had an interesting night out at High Street Cafe. First, we waited 30 minutes after our reservation time for our table to open up. During that time, we had very good cocktails at the bar, but it was quite crowded. Once we were seated in a quiet corner, we had a nice meal. Much of the food was delicious and very savory, but the server was only somewhat attentive. Fortunately, our dining partners were frequent patrons of the restaurant, or we'd have been very embarrassed. As it was, we had a nice evening out despite the many faux paux that accompanied our dining experience at Vudu Lounge."

  • "This place has changed from a restaurant with really innovative New Orleans food to a bar with food. To summarize: Hot, cramped, noisy, mediocre food, stressed staff, slow service."
