Beautiful place in the evening with great views of Albuquerque. Food was very good, service good, and noise level would have been good except for crying baby. Not a good place for babies because of the elevation.

What a spectacular restaurant! Worth the $15 ride on the tram to get to the top of Sandia Peak and visit this fine restaurant. Nice wine selection. Not a huge food selection - but enough to chose from. However, what I had was wonderful - the fillet mignon with red wine reduction. My husband had chicken parmesan - he said it was OK, but I think he wished he ordered what I had. Watching the sunset then seeing the lights of downtown Albuquerque come on was great. Would have like a window table, but they seemed to be mostly tables for 4. And the place was full, so we got a table for 2. We still had a pretty good view Service was spotty. The waitress was pleasant and tried , but she seemed a bit overwhelmed at times.

Went here for my birthday 2 days ago and it was incredible. The food and service were great! The only thing we didn't know was that it was snowing up at the top and we weren't really dressed for that. So I recommend if anyone goes to dinner, they dress in warm clothes. The view from the top was amazing.! Definitely recommend this place!!

This is an Albuquerque experience not to be missed! The tram ride up and views are breathtaking. The food (crab cakes, NY strip, Duck in orange ginger sauce) was delicious. The service was friendly and fast. Probably deserves 5 stars but we had to wait 40 minutes beyond our reservation for a table only for two! This might have been easier to accept had we been with a large group. Worse, with a full bar there was no adequate waiting area. Lots of room on outdoor deck but nowhere to sit. With bad knees and having to stand that long the wait became painful. Benches or seats should be added.

Our group of 10 were served in first class style. Lauren, the head chef, visited our table to see that all was well. We each ate a variety of selections and everyone agreed that theirs was the best, exquisite and delicious. After a beautiful sunset ride in the tram, the lights of the City below made a lovely, romantic backdrop as we enjoyed good food, service and friendship. A definite stop for the end of a wonderful trip.

The service of the staff and quality of the food is great and the view from Sandia Peak is breathtaking...especially during the Balloon Fiesta. I highly recommend getting to dinner before sunset...it's an amazing sight.

I have been to this restaurant more than once and I have to say this was the best experience yet. The server was terrific...attentive, personable, and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a group of 9 people and everyone raved about their dinner. I had the steak with red wine reduction and it was the best I have had in years. Kudos to the new chef and to the management. I am looking forward to a return visit very soon.

It's not every day you get to dine at the top of a mountain. The High Finance restaurant is a must visit for special occasions and/or out of town visitors. The menu entrees vary in price from $20 to $40, so it's not cheap, but it's not the most expensive restaurant I've visited either. Try a cup of their Green Chile Stew. Spicy New Mexico goodness!

We dined at High Finance during the Balloon Fiesta. It was worth the tram ride up and the wonderful dining experience we had. We were on the tram just before sunset and the ride up was a hoot. We witnessed a beautiful sunset and saw the fireworks from the Balloon Fiesta while we were eating our Fabuless meal. I usally order wine with a nice dinner but found the list packed with overpriced California wines which I'm not a big fan of. We both started with the Green Chile Beef Stew and it was Fantastic. My wife had the Salmon and I had the Prime Rib that was on special that evening. Both were cooked perfectly and the side veggie's were just ok. For dessert we split the Brownie and they knocked it out of the ballpark.

Seating was on graduated levels but for a restaurant being at the top of the mountain, it was difficult to see the city lights past all of the other customers and the deck rails outside. I requested a window table for our anniversary celebration but was sat towards the back corner. Otherwise it could have been a more romantic setting.

High Finance is worth the effort of getting there, but be aware you can't just drop in. We were visiting Santa Fe and stopped at the restaurant on our way to ABQ for the balloon fiesta. Waited in line almost 45 minutes, then the ride up took another 20 -- if you're doing this, get there early. Once at the top, the view, food and service were outstanding. Definitely recommend it for a special occasion or for something different. If you're from out of town, as we were, don't miss it. FYI: The tram plus menu makes this a pricey meal, but we had made a restaurant reservation so we saved $5 each off tram fare. Also, in reply to our question, the waitress said staff must ride the tram to get to work. We tipped generously and hope you do too.

We booked three weeks in advance. Scheduled for a Thursday before the start of Balloon Fiesta on Saturday. We waited a half hour and no sign of a table. They had overbooked, including a large tour group. We finally asked to see the manager and were given permission to eat at a bar table. They were apologetic, tossed in a free appetizer, but we missed the sunset and were frustrated. We did have a great waitress in the bar that helped turn things around. In the end, the food was good and the waitress a pleasure, but in the future will skip High Finance the week before the Balloon fiesta.

We came into town to enjoy the Balloon Fest and see long lost family. We loved the tram ride and the fact that the restaurant accommodated our large party. The food was good but a bit spicy for me (alfredo chicken) and my husband had the shrimp scampy and was a bit disappointed it was served over rice....but maybe that's how they do in New Mexico! Overall we had a great time and took nice pics.

Locals will dis this place as too expensive but if you are passing through, put it on your list. The tram ride to the top and the spectacular view more than make up for the somewhat higher prices. The food is good, although I would stick to the basic steak, chicken, pasta. If you make reservations, the tram ride is discounted.

I've been to High Finance several times and I've been left with the impression that the only reason to go is for the view. Not this time. Our vegetarian in the group had their portabello mushroom burger. Two huge portabello mushrooms marinated just perfectly with more veggies in between. I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Whoever they have back in the kitchen, they should keep. Dinner was exquisite and the view, it's one of a kind and not to be missed.

Reservations @ 7. Checked in at 6:50 & weren't seated until a little after 8. In my reservation we requested a window seat but ended up seated 3 row away from the window. After waiting for over an hour to be seated we just wanted to eat, at that point the view didn't matter. The meal was underwhelming. The posole had good flavor but no broth. We asked for our ribeye medium rare and it was extremely rare. We just ate it because we were hungry. Mashed potatoes were over whipped and gummy. Steak was underseasoned.

We had reservations for 7:00 PM and they did not have a table ready for us until an hour later. The views are awesome and the service was good. The food was way overpriced and not very good. I had the filet with lump crab, which was undercooked. The best part of my meal was the garlic mashed potatoes. My wife had the shrimp scampi, which was fair. Her portion was soo small, she was still hungy. I wouldve gave her some of mine, but didnt like the sound of the cow screaming when I stuck the steak with my fork.

We took my visiting sister to the top of the tram and had dinner at High Finance timed to coincide with sunset. We accomplished that! The Zin we selected to drink was good. We ordered prime rib (Sunday special) and the listed ravioli. Cheese and Spinnach Ravioli on a bed of spinnach topped with Maranara Sauce arrived. The spinach was still somewhat frozen, the ravioli was cold and tasteless and the sauce tasted canned. We sent that course back and they did not charge us for it. The Prime Rib was okay. I guess food at the top of the tram is expected to be average, even thoough its advertised as gormet. I'll most likely not eat there again. The sevice was good, the server obviously embarrassed by the food he was serving.

My friend and I arrived on time for our meal. We waited for our drinks; hers wasn't forthcoming. First, the restaurant was out of her first choice; when we asked about the replacement, the waiter admitted that he'd dropped it, and another was being made. Then, when we asked if he could order, he said yes (we'd earlier asked to have our drinks and THEN order, but...). We inquired about our meals after almost 30 minutes, and were told a large party had come in and had placed their orders before us. The waiter said, "You wanted to wait for your drinks to order." "And our drinks weren't here BECAUSE...???" I asked. The meal appeared five minutes later.

We had reservations for 5pm on 9/20/14. We arrived at 4:50pm and were told to sit in the bar area until something was available? There were about 10 tables occupied at the time. Finally, at 5:20, I went to the hostess to inquire about the delay, she said "we were just about to call you", but would not give me a reason for the delay. This was very frustrating. She was not very customer oriented. When we were seated, the server (Hillary) came to our table and was very upbeat and energetic. Hillary did an excellent job of serving us and made the whole experience great. She should be commended for her attitude and work ethics. The chef also visited our table due to a small problem with some sweet potato's.
