Diner Reviews
  • "We wanted to surprise our out-of- town guests by taking them for dinner at High Finance to enjoy the spectacular view at dinner. We thought the food itself would be an after thought to the view. The food was surprisingly good, Ethan's service was outstanding, portions generous, and the overall experience was extremely pleasant."

  • "Dinner was very good! Rib-eye and New York strip,,,,One Oscar style and the other with the red wine reduction sauce recommended by the waiter....Both outstanding. Calamari appetizer was awesome also....Great drinks,,,,,a little pricey, but the ambiance and views are unbeatable. Highly recommend for a special night."

  • "WoW! What an incredible experience. The semi-tour guide in the tram was fun and informative. Food was good, and the service was friendly. Most of all, however, are the views. Outstanding! The rain, hail, thunder, and lightening were an added bonus. Even waiting for the lightening to move on before being allowed to take the tram back down was adventurous. The experience was “one of a kind” and very unique."

  • "We have not been disappointed by the food or service on any of the many occasions we have dined here. View is wonderful. Wait staff attentive. Nice selection of wine. One of the better dinning experiences in Albuquerque for sure!"

  • "Food is pricey for the quality, but good choices. The view is amazing. I've read reviews about the restrooms having standing water on the floor, but that was not our experience. We were very happy we took the tram and ate at this restaurant, although we think it could have a better name than "High Finance"."

  • "The food here was much better than I expected. The prices are steep, but so is the scenery! If you want to impress a date or spouse, this is the place to take them. This locale is the highest I have ever eaten a meal, being at 10,300 feet above sea level. When you are on an airliner, the cabin is at 5,800, and they don't serve meals like this anyway. It is truly a memorable experience, and one you will talk about for a long time."

  • "I've read reviews for this place and it seems like it's a "hit or miss" when it comes to both the food and service. We went in a Thursday evening for dinner. The tram tickets are half off if you made reservations. The server was great and so was the food. I have the salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Vthe rice pilaf was over cooked so it looked like sticky rice with a couple of pieces of mushrooms. My husband had the chicken parmesan on a bed of risotto. He liked it all. For dessert, we tried the raspberry and macadamia nut bread pudding. It tasted great."

  • "Interesting menu, fresh, delicious, low/no salt, quality, appealing presentation, accommodating staff, personable, delightful food in an exhilarating environment which building is a substantial wooden structure of formal architecture."

  • "The food was good not great. The service was friendly but not nothing special. Our waiter though extremely pleasant did not do a very good job. We had to ask for things that should have been a given. Like plates with our appetizer. Also no bread was served with the meal. Dessert was just ok. Honestly I was disappointed with the whole experience. We will not go back."

  • "I have ate here many times in the past and take family and friend‘s when they come to town. Then quality of the 12 oz. steak was fatty and grizzley no bread or salad came with this $33.00 steak and potato choice was limited. Price is up and quality is down did‘t use to be that way and mix drink seemed watered down,"

  • "We only had one night in Albuquerque and the High Finance Restaurant was the perfect way to spend what time we had. I will remember our time there as the highlight of our visit. My 15 yr old boy loved the ride to the top and really enjoyed his food."

  • "The food was fair 3 star maybe at 5 star prices. The service was great. However, the restsurant was very hot inside which made it not relaxing. Plus, unusually heavy tram traffic and had to wait 1 1/2 hours to get to the restaurant"

  • " I ordered a bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. Two of the three medallions were raw in the middle. They were sent back at different times and I received each one back having been heated and covered with sauce. My friend had ravioli and it was served over greens. The greens had been taken from water and there was more than 1/2 a cup of water in the bowl. The water with the alfredo sauce made quite a mess. The ravioli were laid on top of the water and greens. I was embarrassed for the waiter who had to keep returning my raw food, but I was more embarrassed for the restaurant that there is not enough professionalism in the kitchen to recognize the lack of quality of their plates :( Tram $30, Dinner $100. Satisfaction:$0"

  • "I enjoyed the views more than the food. But we also were very happy with meal. Able to make reservations that day for that evening. Only down side, was clouds didn't know we had reservations for sunset dinner. Storms in the area made sunset difficult to see, however it was still a great view, and probably an awesome view without the haze. Would go back again if the opportunity presents itself. Thanks"

  • "This was a great ending to the day. Was there about 20 years ago and things are just as good as they were then (except the prices are a little higher of course). Will recommend to all."

  • "I was very happy with our waiter however i was not impressed with the food. The appetizer took a while to come out but after it did it was only about 3 minutes later that the main course came out. This was not enough time at all to eat the appetizer. Our steaks were over cook and had a very burnt crisp appearance. After spending $30 for the tram just to get there and it being so over crowded I dont know that i would return again."

  • "The ride up was fantastic with the bright sun shining on the mountain. We walked on parts of the trails and loved the different views. Our waiter provided great service. The drink menu had a lot of fun choices. We left as the sun was setting and the sky changed many times on our ride down. A unique experience."

  • "The Prime Rib and New York Strip meals were outstanding. A red wine was offered as a special price and was good choice, but not served at the proper temperature (too warm). Initial seating was at table next to the stairway to restrooms and servers frequently passed by. Asked to be moved to another table. The second table was very wobbly and the server had to correct the problem. Not off to a good start. However, once those issues were corrected, the dining experience was enjoyable with good service a delicious food. View is spectacular with ride up to the restaurant on the cable car. This is our second visit and would return again."

  • "Had not been to restaurant at the top of the crest for years. Unfortunatly, word of mouth was food not as good and overpriced. Wife and I ordered the prime rib and pork chop, which were fabulous! Well worth the price, which is not as bad as people make out to be. Excellent service as well. Reputation absolutely not deserved. Would go again for a special occasion in a heartbeat."

  • "Took an out-of-town guest who really enjoyed the restaurant and views associated with the natural setting. Tram ride is a bonus but for the evenings don't forget to bring a jacket for the walk between the Tram and restaurant."

  • "We rode the tram and hiked the Northern Crest Trail for 3 miles roundtrip before dinner. We were seated on time at a table that, like most tables, provided a great view of the sunset. When the sunset was just perfect, I slipped outside for some high quality photos. Everyone was snapping pictures, creating a party atmosphere. The food and wine were very good and not too expensive given the location."

  • "We made reservations for our wedding anniversary, asking for a seat by the window with a view. The Hostess attempted to seat us by the bar, and I objected, pointing out other tables along the windows which were available. We were told to wait on a bench for one of those tables, and when I objected to that, I was told that she did not want to overwhelm the waiter by seating us at one of the window tables too soon. I told her to seat us and we will be patient for the waiter to get to us. The waiter arrived promptly at our table by the window, and provided excellent service. We enjoyed the food, and the weak Margaritas, and the view, until a rowdy bunch, who obviously should have been seated by the bar, was seated right next to us."

  • "This was our 2nd time at the restaurant. Maybe we hit an "off" night-really disappointed. We were seated near loud, obnoxious guests. Had a long wait until a server approached us. No bread or rolls offered; standard in comparable restaurants. Salad wasn't delivered until after the entree when the server asked if there was anything else needed. Food was fair; nothing special. We repeatedly had to ask for water refills. Coffee refill never offered. We tried to ask but server ran right past as we called him. Finally got more but just before the last tram was leaving so it was pointless. Next time we are in NM we'll ride up the mountain but won't dine at High Finance. We felt ignored and our special occasion celebration was spoiled."

  • "the food was good - decent selection, good service, atmosphere inside restaurant was nothing special. Face it,you don't really go for the food, you go for the view! We were there at sunset and the view was amazing and well worth the (could be scary 2 1/2 mile) Tram ride up to Sandia Peak. reservations a must - even gives you a discount on tram ride. one criticism - clean the bathrooms - open windows or something, to get rid of that public restroom smell..."

  • "Ethan was our server and did a fantastic job! This was my son-in-law's first visit to New Mexico, so I select High Finance for the view of the city and the great food. We had a great time!"

  • "We go to High Finance for our anniversary every year. We always have reservations and are always seated at a four-person table with a great view. We then generally thoroughly enjoy our food, regardless of our choices (although the ribeye, "oscar style," is our favorite). This visit was significantly different. We still had reservations; however, we were seated at a tiny two-person table directly in the line of waitstaff and other customers at an awkward corner junction. Oh, and we had no view. We asked to be moved and were informed that the only table open was a four-seater with no view. We were okay with this, but then both of our rib-eyes were under cooked and lacking in garnish. Overall negative experience."

  • "This restaurant is amazing. The decor, the feel, the VIEW - woah. Fantastic. The service is great, the food is delicious. I ordered salmon with risotto and a vegetable medley. SO GOOD!!! The desserts looked divine. I got a slice of some sort of blueberry crumble thing with marscapone in the middle. OMG my new favorite thing."

  • "This is by no means fine dining but for being on top of a mountain, it is really quite good. I would not come here to have a great meal but it is a nice overall experience (tram, mountains, view, etc). As there is not very much to do in Albuquerque, this is a nice activity for a few hours."

  • "This was truly a memorable experience. The view is spectacular and the restaurant experience, the greeting unpon arrival to all the service staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was well prepared and price value was there. I would highly recommend this restaurant experience. Take a jacket with you so you can enjoy a walk on the deck to see the city lights. It is about 35 degrees cooler on top verses at the base."
