A word from Hideaway Steakhouse
Hideaway Steakhouse opened in March 2011 as a new premier dining destination in the north Denver metropolitan area, combining the classic American steakhouse with modern, contemporary cuisine. Located just 12 miles north of downtown Denver, in Westminster and tucked away among secluded tree groves and tranquil open space, Hideaway Steakhouse offers diners an upscale and sophisticated yet comfortable dining experience for lunch and dinner.

In addition to the selection of Prime and CAB Beef, the hand-cut steaks are served with a thoughtful and wide variety of potatoes, fresh vegetables and innovative sauces, the menu features many specialties that change seasonally, and encourages guests to return frequently to try new things. Each dish is expertly prepared under the direction of our Executive Chef "Scott Yosten", who places a strong emphasis on bold and intriguing flavors to delight every palate.

Diner Reviews
  • "I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the neighborhood restaurant was. Is on an upscale level, including the pricing. They had a complete dinner special that was well worth the money. It included appetizer, salad, main course, dessert, and a glass of wine. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The only complaint I had was with the dessert that was a custard with blueberries. The blueberries tasted like cardboard, but the custard was delicious. I am thinking of trying either lunch or drinks on the lovely patio for my next visit."

  • "Went to celebrate a birthday. Seated on time for our 7pm reservation. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was very good and well prepared but expensive. No rush to finish the meal."

  • "Went for a special occasion as a first time visit. Was a very enjoyable dining experience, helpful waitstaff and excellent food and service. Steaks were aged and as good as any I have ever had. VERY IMPRESSIVE OVERALL....fully priced, but well worth the price."

  • "Wait staff was extremely nice, overwhelming a bit actually. The food on the other hand was way overpriced and not worth it. Could have ate at Outback Steakhouse and had 2 filet minion dishes, plus desert for the price of my steak alone. Ala cart side dishes was shocking actually. Paying 15$ for mashed potatoes and a vegetable was ridiculous! Overall the name of the place should be called hide your credit card instead of hideaway steakhouse. If your looking to empty your wallet for the atmosphere and staff then well recomended. I'm looking for a great meal and could care less about the the two positives here."

  • "Looking for a great location for that someone special then look no further than the Hideaway Steakhouse. Service is great and the food is well worth the price. The food courses are brought out separately (you actually have time to eat them before the next one arrives and still have a great conversation). The waiter will recommend outstanding choices on the menu."

  • "For a steak this expensive, I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the meat, the presentation of plate, and the temperature. Specifically, the meat was a bit tough, the steak did not reflect any seasoning and not even a resemblance of blue cheese crumbles as advertised. Worst of all, the steak was not hot or served on a hot plate."

  • "We have dined at the Hideaway several times and have always been pleased. The steaks are always cooked to perfection. Great ambiance and the outdoor patio is comfortable. Excellent service! We consider it our dining gem in Westminster."

  • "Trusted the reviews for a special birthday dinner. Food was fabulous! We were not disappointed in either the food or atmosphere. We had been to this location many years ago but the new restaurant/owner has out-done himself."

  • "We went to the Hideaway for a date night escape from the kiddos. We didn't want to drive downtown for a nice dinner, so we tried Hideaway. It was wonderful. Delicious food--interesting options without being weird. Nice wine and cocktail menu. The service was impeccable. Our waiter met all our refs without hovering. He was pleasantly chatty but not overly so. Truly a wonderful experience."

  • "This is a neighborhood treasure. A great place for a nice quiet dinner with friends or a special occasion. The waiter was very knowledgeable and knew how to add that special touch."

  • "This is an amazing restaurant. We go frequently and the food and atmosphere have been exceptional every time. The staff are knowledgable and are able to give great recommendations. We highly urge you to try the Nutella for dessert. It is by far on our top ten list of favorite foods."

  • "Class restaurant in all respects. A great place to come in out of the rain when tired of the restaurant norm."

  • "There were six of my family in our party. 5 of them loved their food. The waiter talked me into ordering the 30 day aged strip steak & the cheese potato. The aged steak was grisly, very little flavor, and small for a 10oz steak ( most of the weight was a thick layer of fat on the edge). The cheese potato was also tasteless & hard to chew. I was very disappointed. I choose not to mention this at the time, as it may have made my grandchildren uncomfortable. I was pleased that the rest of my family enjoyed their food, so not all was lost, but I probably will not return. Paying $39+ for a tasteless steak is crazy."

  • "The Hideaway is a wonderful dining experience. We have always had a great experience. We are welcomed and made to feel appreciated. The waitstaff is professional and well acquainted with the menu and the wine list. Food is exceptional; well prepared, well presented and delicious. The ambiance is very nice. The atmosphere easily accomodates those seeking a more formal evening dining experience or just good friends looking to enjoy a great meal without the hassle of formal attire."

  • "The Hideaway restaurant is hard to find but worth it!! This is the old Gussies Restaurant that has been totally remodeled and is the highest quality restaurant on the North Side of Denver. With high quality, the food and beverage prices also represent this."

  • "We came to have dinner on a Saturday night after having a wonderful experience on a Monday night previously. We thought we would try to come in on a weekend even though we really enjoyed a quieter night. There seemed to be a lot of mingling before someone noticed us and came up to greet us at the door. The service was amazing and wonderful just like the last time but the food wasn't the same. Portions were a little to small for the price paid but the presentation was beautiful. Last experience was great from arrival but there were hiccups this time. We will come back on a Monday next time."

  • "We have dined at the Hideaway Steakhouse twice now, and we've been very pleased on both occasions. Wonderful staff and service and the food is wonderful. It is pricey but we found it well worth it! We will continue to dine there."

  • "The food and restraint and service was outstanding, it was a little pricey for everyday eating but for a special occasion I would highly recommend it!"

  • "The service was great and our waiter, Turner was superb. This was our 44th Wedding Anniversary Dinner and the Staff at Hideaway made it special. This was our treat to ourselves and well worth it. They could even make a French Martini for my wife after dinner."

  • "My husband and I dined at the Hideaway Steakhouse for his birthday dinner. We arrived early and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and professional and special attention was given to my husband. We enjoyed steak and salmon which were prepared with simple and fresh ingredients. We were also treated to dessert. We have been to Hideaway three times in the past three months, and each experience has been outstanding."

  • "I ordered the new York strip and was disappointed. I know it's not the most tender meat, but it was so tough, I could not cut it with a steak knife. The staff brought one more steak to my table and it was the just like the first. We will still dine in this restaurant, just not the NY steak."

  • "We have eaten at the Hideaway a number of times--for lunch and dinner--and never had an experience that was anything less than excellent. The oysters are very fresh, for example, much to our surprise. We have also brought friends to the bar area when the restaurant had live music--guitar players and singers, primarily. Our friends tell us they have enjoyed the outdoor patio area as well. Large groups are accommodated in the front dining room where there is a central fireplace. Between there and the bar in the back there are private booths with large fan-shaped backs. The facility was remodeled several years ago and the décor is great."

  • "This restaurant is great for special occasions. The restaurant does have a great happy hour but don't really promote the happy hour at all. Unless I had a formal business lunch meeting scheduled, my impression of the lunch menu is that it is too much to eat (as well as time commitment required) as I would fall asleep at my desk when I got back to the office."

  • "The restaurant's atmosphere was very romantic and quiet. The service was amazing and they made us feel as if we were the only table in the restaurant. We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us a free dessert which was unexpected and delicious! The prices were a pretty high for the location of the restaurant and amount of food on the plate."

  • "Food & service were very good close to excellent. Although the dining room was not busy, the host sat another couple next to us. We we're given the per person price of the special for two but we're not told that the price given was per person. I ordered a bake potato & it arrived with butter, sour cream & cheese on it that I didn't want."

  • "Atmosphere is really good and has a hip feel to it. The prime rib was some of the best I've had. Desert was different and interesting."

  • "The food selection at Hideaway is fabulous. The wine list is notable. The staff is friendly and attentive. We have a great time as always. We went for a business dinner this time and everyone enjoyed the food. We will be back!"

  • "The food was good, service was adequate but as soon as we sat down and saw the prices, we started to apologize to our guest. I can't ever recall prices more out of whack. This is one for Ramsey's show, where the owner stands in the middle of all the empty dinner tables and wonders why he is going out of business, when he clearly has the nicest restaurant around."

  • "Our waiter was unattentive. The food was just okay. I was not that impressed for the price. Two cocktails and 4 appetizers during "happy hour" cost over $64.00. There are more trendy hotspots downtown with way better Happy Hours. (We love Jax fish house)"

  • "My husband and I came here on a quiet Monday night to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted by the hostess with a warm welcome in (our first time) sat and was promptly greeted by Brian who was wonderful and knowledgeable about the food!! The staff was incredible!! Empty plates were never in front of us for more than a few minutes. I ordered the salmon which was a little small for the price we were paying but it was good, nothing to special however. I wish it wasn't so expensive or else I would dine here multiple times a month for the experience."

  • "We used to go to the Hideaway Steakhouse a lot and enjoyed it. We have not been in about 7 months. The menu has changed and the prices have increased a lot. The tenderloins where covered in a lot of sauce and tomatoes to hide the thin size of the steaks. Service is always wonderful; food and prices were very disappointing. It should have been a sign when it was easy to get a last minute reservation and the restaurant was half empty. We are striking this off our list of restaurants."

  • "Came for our anniversary. The service was great and professional, staff members were attentive and noted our first time visit and special occasion celebration. The ambience was romantic, noise level was quiet. The food was prepared and cooked well and was delicious, the main focus is steaks which are certified angus beef and dry aged, steak sizes are large portions. The pricing reflects those of comparable fine dining establishments. Recommended for special occasions, love that it's in our local suburbia neighborhood."

  • "Hideaway Steakhouse has a great ambiance and our serve staff was amazing. The food was good. I had the special - yellowfin tuna and couscous. The fish was perfect, the couscous was a little overcooked. My husband had a steak with a bernaise crab topping ($16). And a cup of soup and a beer each, our bill with tip was $180. Honestly, you could got to Texas Roadhouse and get a comparable steak. I think Hideaway is quite a bit overpriced for the quality they offer. I will probably not visit again, although I am curious about their happy hour."
