Most visits here have been great, and this one would have been, but both the salmon and tuna were less fresh than you need for sushi. The manager came by and we told him that, and his response was something like the fish must not have been the freshest when delivered. Drinks are weak, I would stick with wine.

I really like Hibashi. If you work close to the Dallas Galleria location, Hibashi is a fun and refreshing lunch option vs the fast food and mundane options in the Galleria. Prices are reasonable and the hibachi bar is entertaining. For a Friday afternoon I was surprised it wasn't busier. Definately a good spot for a lunch time break without the wait. They have numerous bento boxes and great combination choices for the hibachi grill.

I've been here numerous times and I have found that the best way to get information is to ask multiple times. Even then you may end up with wrong information. Dinner was canceled here because of a question asked of the manager that she initially said yes to and then recanted after waiting 10 additional minutes. First time for bad service.

The restaurant is nice, but the food is very expensive. I went with a large group and they only allowed one person at the table to use the groupon, which wasn't specified in fine print. Don't go with a groupon, and expect to spend a pretty penny. I've been to better good spots for less.

Made reservation for 7:00 p.m. Arrived 15 minutes early. Host began to seat me at table, and I said I would like hibachi. He began to say that there would be a LONG wait for hibachi, and I wondered why no distinction was made on OpenTable when I made reservation. He changed and said he would add me to an existing table, which he did. I was seated so far away from the actual grill that I was part of another table and only saw the backside of the chef. He had to carry my food over to my plate and spilled a lot of it as he did so. He gave me the remnants of the fried rice, which wasn't much, so I told the waiter and asked for another order. They charged me $3 for that order. Unbelievable. Food was bland. Go to Benihanas; much better!

This was a very very poor experience. The staff was not attentive, service was so slow we almost walked out and when our Foor finally did arrive the order was incomplete. We almost had to get up and get our own drinks too. I do not recommend this restaurant in any way.

It wasn't busy and the grill chef did not even acknowledge us but was friendly with the other couple at grill. Then the chef tossed his knife hitting my Chanel bag as he was doing "tricks" luckily neither me or my bag got cut. We were served barely a handful of fried rice (which I paid extra for) and vegetables and the smallest salmon filet I have ever seen. I told my server of my disappointment and since it was his 2nd day on job I guess he didn't know to notify the manager. I also voiced my concern to the grill chef and he only offered excuses and then discussed my issue in detail with the other couple at the grill and did not offer to make things right. I had raved to my visiting guest abt how much I loved this grill-not anymore.

Sushi is good, chef's are friendly, service is slow at best. Our server was very friendly but VERY slow-I think the reason is due to the fact that he was the only server for the entire restaurant. The place wasn't very busy (Tuesday night) but its HUGE, so he had a lot of ground to cover, between the sushi bar and dining area there were at least 8 tables. 3 bartenders were on staff but only at the bar, and were only trained for drinks, they tried to check me in but weren't trained on the computer system. Prices are pretty high for some rolls, low for others. If you want good sushi in the area, it works, and the EDM is certainly a unique touch for the area, but I recommend sitting at the sushi bar.

In line with other hibachi places as far as food quality goes. Price is a good bit higher and portions are smaller in comparison though. Fried rice was great. The cook doused my shrimp in oil and lit on fire. Kind of a cool effect but my shrimp had a burn flavor. No need to go back.

Located in a mix-used development and conveniently located close to the Galleria and easy access off the tollway, this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The Sushi was fresh, great presentation, and we enjoyed it very much. We aren't talking about a five start restaurant here, but for the middle of the line sushi bar, it was certainly above average in both service and quality of food. I see us returning often!

  • New Year's Eve outing

    Dined on 12/31/2013
We took our two sons to Hibashi for New Year's Eve. The food was good but the chef's enthusiasm was sub-par. The prices on the Teppan Grill menu are on the high-end (I'm guessing that it includes the "show" of your food being cooked in front of you on the grill). There were several other chefs that were putting on a great show for the dining guests; really engaging the diners but ours was merely going through the motions. It was disappointing for us - especially being New Years Eve and our first time dining here. The restaurant seemed more concerned about turning the tables over for the next guests than really taking care of the current diners. If you have children - make sure you clarify you want a child's serving and not adult.

This places is a lot of fun for kids, and the food is good. The prices are on the high, and they add a service fee or tip into the bill for the Hibachi part which is separate from the server's tip. My 13-year-old son and I go every now and then and usually I spend around $75 for us two for the combo dinner with fried rice and one glass of wine. The service is not good. They will tell you there is a table ready and seat you at the Hibachi, but you won't have a cook come out for 30 minutes or so. However with that being said, we still love to go because of the experience. The cooks are always fun and friendly and the food is good. Perfect for a special occasion. .

Recently a friend and I decided to dine at the Hibashi Teppan Grill. We made our reservations online with some specific requests. When we arrived, the staff greeted us politely and took us back to our seats. All special requests had been accommodated which made for a truly wonderful evening. The food was fantastic. We shared the feast and there was more than enough food for two people. The atmosphere was perfect. The place was clean and the staff were very attentive to all the patrons needs. We had a blast. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a romantic or fun night.

Had to order our drinks 3 separate times because the server didn't speak very good English. Ultimately, no one in my group was served the actual beverage they requested. And, unfortunately the bartender of the restaurant did not show up the night we were there, so signature/mixed cocktails were completely unavailable, as well as many wines we asked for from the menu.

This is a fun place for families. We like the food and have been to this restaurant many times. However, it is a matter of chance how long you will have to wait, and making reservations for the hibachi tables has no value. If you have four people or under, they will get you seated right away, but then you have to wait until another party is seated before they will startt cooking. Cooks are frirendly and experienced, but wait staff is horrible, disorganized and unattentive .

My noodle dish was dry and not flovorful. The shrimp I paid extra for needed a magnifying glass to see. At Pei Wei the same dish is one third the price and much better. I would not go go back even with the 1000 bonus Opentable uses as an incentive. The food was too expensive and not good enough.
