Diner Reviews
  • "Waitress was great and gave us a bit of background of the restaurant. Good was great. Most, if not all, of the meat is locally produced within Texas or Oklahoma. The food had lots of flavor and was pretty filling. And not all that expensive."

  • "Everything is worth trying. I got the brick chicken and I ate every last bit and it was perfectly portioned. A little loud but that's just because of the brick walls and slightly close space. The space is closed in but with plenty of room. YUM. It was packed on a Tuesday evening. So that's telling you it's worth trying!"

  • "By far the friendliest and most attentive staff. Food is high quality and prepared fast. It always surprises me how quickly I get my food even on a Friday night on the roof. Rarely do I go anywhere else to meet friends or business associates."

  • "solid food, edgy farmer industrial decor, a local favorite for sure."

  • "We've dined at HG many times and it's always really good and really fresh. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Our recent dining experience unfortunately placed us next to a table of about 20 celebrating a birthday. The table kept growing and growing, ending with their guests standing with their butts in our table. It was so loud it was hard to have a conversation with my husband, and unfortunately ruined our meal. The food was good, though, don't get me wrong. We'll try again, and request a table outside."

  • "While not my first time to HG SPLY, it is always great to come back. They demonstrate that if you are on a Paleo type diet, that food can still be very flavorful. I had the Buffalo Ribs and while ample and resembling a dish Fred Flintstone would be proud of, the meat was a bit tough (cut, not prep) and not as meaty as I would have otherwise preferred. However, the rest of the selection at the table was expertly prepared and tasted wonderful. Highly recommend the sweet potato hash. I ended with a Paleo cookie with dairy-free ice cream and it was excellent. If you are not on a Paleo diet, please still go, because you will be impressed with the food."

  • "Received a table at the very back of the restaurant and sweated all night. There were three other tables closer to the front but we didn't get seated there. Food was great just wish we'd gotten a better table."

  • "The food here is perfect for paleo nuts such as myself! The portions are huge and and the ingredients are fresh!"

  • "This restaurant is the place to go for lunch or dinner when you want REAL food but don't want to pay a lot for it. The menu is full of locally grown and grass fed options and without any processed white sugar. As a former server I can say the service here is as good as you'll get at any 4 or 5 star restaurant. Although I haven't ordered a drink from the bar, I do know they have organic alcohols to choose from. If you're eating a Paleo or Primal diet, this is the place to go; just remember to order any sauces on the side."

  • "HG sply has a great vibe and even better good. The locally grown veggies and home grown meats collide together for a flavor sensation! I would recommend this local spot to anyone!"

  • "I go to HG Sply 3-4 times a week. My wife and I eat Paleo and while I can get food that "works" at other restaurants I can't find food that compares in quality and taste than HG. Not to mention the prices are perfect. The servers are knowledgeable about their product and the Paleo Cookie is amazing. I typically attempt to try new things when I go, but when I'm not in the mood to make decisions I default to The Hunted. Their Duck Confit is unmatched by any other restaurant in Dallas. Big words, I know...however this restaurant is truly amazing."

  • "After reading several reviews of H&G and finally dining there a few nights ago, I wholeheartedly agree with the common consensus that this is a notable restaurant with a quality organic and local-driven menu. I highly recommend the waygu beef, spicy broccoli & bacon and sweet potato hash. After dinner, be sure to grab a drink on the scenic rooftop bar."

  • "Dinner with good friends, both parties sharing great personal news. Place is lively and upbeat, can be a little loud at times but should be expected. The food and drinks were wonderful and the service was top notch. Can't wait to go back, place was wonderful."

  • "What a neat dining expeience. Nothing ordinary about the food or drink menu. I was able to comply with my diet restrictions and have a great satisfying meal. Never had better service anywhere."

  • "I was thoroughly impressed with the wide menu selection ... the four entrees we selected were all top-notch. Our waiter was knowledgeable and efficient. We will definitely be back."

  • "I have eaten here several times but this was my first time to enjoy the Sunset Toast. The Susnset Toast is apparently a nightly event where the restaurant serves everyone a special drink of the night. Very cool perk where they thank their diners for being there. Many offerings are calorie conscious and tasty."

  • "Delicious, healthy, fresh, creative dishes that are reasonably priced. I had the Hunter entree( Duck Confit over sweet potato cubes and broccoli) and Kale Caesar( with chick pea croutons) to start. Great, friendly service with upbeat casual sphere. I will be returning to HG Suply and recommending it to others before I do."

  • "It says a lot when my foodie says he enjoyed every part of his meal. The patty in the 80/20 burger was delicious and juicy. The mussels appetizer was probably my favorite part of the meal; although, I am partial to seafood. I really appreciate the broth is coconut milk based with just the right amount of spice versus the tomato-based broth I see at so many other places. I built a bowl with duck confit, brussel sprouts and sauteed mushrooms with the Sriracha aioli. Confit is salty by nature but I felt mine was a bit too much to finish the meal. Admittedly, I am salt sensitive so this is not necessarily a slam. We got great service in a lively scene. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. Don't forget to make a reservation!"

  • "The food was great! the AC was not working so it was pretty warm inside. They gave us some drink menus to fan some air though, ha! The drinks were more of an art than a drink. Very impressed with the bartender and his creations. The bartender and staff were very informative about their food and drinks. The scene was great. We would have loved to sit outside but it was way too hot. The tables seemed to be a little too close to each other so we could hear the peoples' conversations to the left and right of us. That got to be a little annoying. My gf had the venison fajitas which were INCREDIBLE. I still thought the Bison ribs were the best. I loved the way they prepare their fries."

  • "This new place lives up to the hype. Our service was excellent and our meal was fantastic! The concept is wonderful and the food lives up to what they promise. You won't be disappointed dining here!"

  • "Went for Sat. brunch but the brunch menu wasn't enticing so ordered lunch. Ordered the burger and a tuna salad. Fries were cold, salad seemed to be made with the centermost part of the lettuce/cabbage so it lacked flavor. Bloody mary was warm despite being poured over ice. Perhaps the tomato juice was from a can? We made reservations and while they were unnecessary (the restaurant was 90% empty), the hostess seemed quite flustered with deciding where to seat us. The staff also seemed really interested in congregating together and chatting to each other in front of guests. Not very professional. Bummer because we had heard good things."

  • "A great spot created by my hometown acquaintance, Elias Pope. The Greenville talent on Lower Greenville!! The bowls are an outstanding, tasty menu idea."

  • "The restaurant is good. Friendly service, fits food, lively atmosphere. But the service upstairs was terrible which is a shame because it's a great space with a wonderful view of downtown. There aren't enough bartenders for the amount of people the slave holds and the night we were there or bartender was more interested in trying to pick up ladies than serving. The whole side of the bar he was working waited 20-30 minutes to get drinks or sign out tabs and we could never get his attention. We finally get a bar back to get the manager who had to make drinks and comp a tab or two. So go to three restaurant but skip the upstairs bar."

  • "HG supply has been one of our favorite restaurants since it opened. Both my wife and I have a gluten allergy, and this is one of the few places in town where we can order most anything on the menu without worries. The food continues to shine, and they have some of the best hummus we have tried. HG is a tough reservation on a Friday or Saturday night, so plan ahead. The energy level in the main restaurant is high, and their roof top deck is a great place for a drink or two after dinner. You can also dine on the roof from a limited menu. All in all, one of the best places for "real" food in Dallas."

  • "I went here for my birthday dinner this past week. I have been DYING to try this place! I walk in, and it is VERY crowded for a Wednesday. There is one two seater table open, and I can tell it is ours. We walk over, and have to squeeze past two other couples dining to get to our seats. I ask the waiter if there is any where else we could sit? or if we could wait for an outside table (which we already called to request) and he said "sorry sweetie, they just all sat down". Then, I see some bar spots open up, so I ask a different waiter (since ours never came back to take our drink order) if we could switch spots. It was SO loud in there! I hated being so close to two other couples eating. Not okay. We were allowed to move. FOOD WAS SUPERB. "

  • "Everything was great but they completely lost my reservation. We were there early, they had our name on the list, and then we never were seated. Finally I walked back up to the host desk and learned that they did not have our reservation anymore. We did finally get seated at 9:35p. Yikes."

  • "The first floor bartender was amazing! Her recommendations on spirits was right on and very, very lovely! Our server was also very good; personable and available. The noise level is a little high, but it was a Saturday night. "

  • "I love HG Supply overall. The service is good, it's got a great vibe, and the concept of eating healthfully when dining out is refreshing. However, their food is simply too expensive for the portions. A bowl with steak is $16. It's less than 4 oz of steak, a spoonful of brussel sprouts, and some sweet potato. I can understand skimping on the meat as it's more expensive, but the sides should not be tiny. Again, great food and vibe, but I can't go often as I find myself feeling ripped off. "

  • "We've been twice now. The first time we just had drinks on the rooftop and loved the place. Trip 2 consisted of great drinks, but also a flavorless dinner. I'm all for healthy eating, but also appreciate a little spice in my meals."

  • "We were full from appetizers from a private wine tasting but decided to stay for dessert. Only 3 choices and it was difficult to make a decision but we decided to stray from the ordinary chocolate cake or cookies. Why not try a kettle ball chocolate, caramel cheesecake and fruit dessert. I won't spoil the surprise but it was amazing. More than enough for 2 people so we brought the leftovers home. The manager asked us about the private wine tasting and shared with us another wine she thought we would enjoy. She was right, Bone Shaker Zin. We were impressed the manager took the time to find the bottle of wine and bring us a sample. "

  • "We had a tasty meal. Everything was fresh, good quality and seemed very healthy. Lots of choices. Server was great, not too pushy but available. The Kettlebell dessert was unique and more than enough for four people. Only negative - very loud. So loud, you had to raise your voice or only talk to the person next to you. A little disappointing in that area."
