HexagoneGreat foodSan Diego has no shortage of great restaurants. When looking for exceptional French cuisine the choices really narrow down. The food was delicious, service spot on (rare in French restaurants even outside of France) and a nice wine list. When looking for French, this is a winner.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMmm! Boneless spareribs!Took my wife for Mother's Day brunch. I had the steak and eggs and she had the boneless spareribs. Both were really good, but those spareribs...very tender and tasty! Service was great. Didn't always bother you. We will be back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Response TimeNine of us decided to go out to an early dinner after attending a matinée performance at the Old Globe. A quick reservation was made on Open Table and a quick response was made by the restaurant when we arrived. A table had been set up; the service was timely and unobtrusive and the food was excellent.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you're looking for a quietIf you're looking for a quiet mature place to done Hexagone is the place for you! Nice white table clothes and very classic...4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat "people-watching" location.Great "people-watching" location. Service was polite and did not make mistakes but was rather slow as we were only one of three tables there for lunch. Loved that the waiter had an accent...made the French theme seem more authentic. Great food, reasonable prices and portions. Totally changed my prior view of French restaurants being expensive with tiny portions.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went in for a late lunchWe went in for a late lunch and had the place almost to ourselves. My wife's steak-frites was very good--the frites were exceptionally
un-oily and very minimally salted--and my scallops were truly excellent, the best saucing of that dish we have ever had at Hexagone.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT FOOD!!!!Have never had better Braised Short Ribs EVER!!! Sea Bass was also excellent! Wish there were 6 instead of 5 Escargot, so we didn't have to fight over the last one!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNew favoriteOur first time at Hexagone. Took a group of 6 and the ambiance was perfect for mature adults who want to have a conversation without shouting over loud music or poorly designed acoustics. Our waiter was Yojann who was very attentive. Very nice menu and affordable house wine. We'll definitely return.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench GemAll I can say is, after numerous visits, another great evening. The food and service is always at a high level.

It was curious this time that two of us ordered the same entree and one portion was much more generous than the other. The friendly service and shuttle to the Old Globe more than made up it.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTry this wonderful neighborhood gemFood was simply great. Both my wife and I had appetizers, main courses and desserts and everything was top notch. Yes, they were one server understaffed, but the two guys working shared duties, were very polite and knowledgable.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for Easter dinner.Went there for Easter dinner. We both loved the dinners we ordered - her: Coq au Vin, me: short ribs. Our waiter was nice, but slightly inattentive. Convenient free parking beneath the restaurant in the busy Banker's Hill area.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT DEALS ON SPECIALSThe food here is delicious. I especially like the steak and lobster and beef wellington specials
for $22.95. Beautiful romantic milieu and very personable owner, Patrick. Specials vary weekly.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, great serviceExcellent food, great service and quiet atmosphee, conducive to conversation. Pleasant atmosphere. We love it!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good thisThe food was very good this time and the service superb. If Jerry is the waiter, then the evening is usually perfect. Otherwise, it can be a bit "hit or miss".3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMToo bad they speak littleToo bad they speak little to no French. Some food was too salty for my taste, e.g. the scallops. Great flowers are available! Go there.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMPre Theatre DinnerExcellent cuisine, particularly pre-theatre for the Globe in the Park!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat as always! Nice French touches.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood GemIf you haven't tried this restaruant you should. It is one of our favorites and we have never been disappointed in either the food or the service.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AMDining at Hexagone can beDining at Hexagone can be a wonderful experience: a nice night, romantic atmosphere, friendly waiter, very good food, a shuttle to the Old Globe, and voila! a marvelous evening. But some nights the waiter may be grumpy, the service may be spotty, the place might be too crowded with masses of people without reservations trying to get in, or the place may be dreary, empty, deserted and dispirited. Some nights the shuttle service may forget to pick you up, and you may have to call them to remind them to come and get you.
But we keep coming back. The food is very good, very French, the prices are reasonable, T the waiters overall are very nice, the happy hour is great, and the free parking and shuttle service make going to The Old Globe easi1/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great New Years EveIf you havent tried this restaurant you are missing a great opportunity to sample one of San Diego's finest. The name "Hexegone" does it's namesake "Paris" justice. (Paris is sometimes referred to as "L'Hexegone". We have never been disapointed here and New Years Eve was not exception.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AM
