Hersh's Pizza & DrinksGo to Hersh's immediatelyI recently went to Hersh's for a group birthday dinner and was not disappointed! The stuffed artichokes, lima bean crostini, rockfish small plate and Abruzzo pizza (with housemade sausage) were all so wonderful that we ordered some of them twice! We also had an excellent cheese plate, a pasta course, several cocktails - we couldn't stop ordering and will definitely be going back. Delicious food & drinks + friendly service + extremely reasonable prices (especially for the quality) = get yourself to the south end of Light St and eat some Hersh's immediately.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA TreatWe had a great time. The calamari we had was the most delicate I've ever tasted. Cheese and pasta was also prepared masterfully. I wasn't impressed with the pizza though, but I can be a tough customer when it comes to that being a native New Yorker. Overall, we will definitely be back.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner on a Monday nightMy hubby & I met our son & his girlfriend for dinner at 6 pm. We thought we had missed the place at first because it's all the way at the end of Light Street. Nice neighborhood & found on street parking right away. It's good not to be in the thick of Fed Hill. Waitress was friendly & attentive. Happy hour is 2 beers mix & match or a nicely priced glass of wine. Pizza had fresh ingredients & tasty. One app & 1 pie was enough for 2 people. Excellent house made tart for dessert along with ice cream. Yum. We will be back.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent pizza, appetizersExcellent pizza, appetizers and a great beer and cocktail menu.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only disapointment wasThe only disapointment was sitting upstairs. It lacked any ambiance and was waaaay too loud. My husband and I had to shout so the other could hear us. They need to do something to soften then noise. On another note, the food was great. I got the chopped salad which was delicious and not heavy. I got the funghi pizza and my husband got the sausage with roast tomatoes. Both were great!! Also, the wine delicious and the service couldn't be better.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem of a restaurantThis place is a real gem. Excellent food, good beer and cocktail menu and a very hip, happening decor. The small plates were great. Fiddle-head ferns in a butter vinaigrette were lovely and cooked perfectly. The chickpeas came in a bubbling ramekin of rosemary scented oil and goat cheese. The waitress recommended we save some of the leftover oil to dip our pizza crust. A great idea. The pizzas are delicious. Paper thin with a nicely chewy and slightly salty crust. Perfectly cooked. This is a great place for two people on a date since or a group looking for a fun spot to start the night. Definitely going back to Hersh's when I'm in Baltimore again!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticI wish I knew about this place a year ago when we moved to Baltimore. I must say that the pizza at Hersh's was the best by far we have had since living in the Baltimore area.
The crust was thin and crisp, the sauce perfectly seasoned and the cheese was wonderful.
We will be back often.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI think we found our localI think we found our local Fed Hill Pizza joint! Great service, our server knew so much about the wine and gave me great suggestions. Order the mussels and save the butter sauce to dip your crust into later...Delicious!!3/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
