Diner Reviews
  • "My 10 year old daughter and I visited Hersheypark Place while on a trip to Hershey Park. The service was excellent and the food was good for my picky eater. The location (just outside of the gates of the amusement park) was very convenient after a long day of walking and standing on lines. The decor is dated and needs to be freshened up, and the outside signage needs to be updated to make it clear that it's a restaurant. We walked right by it before realizing it was a restaurant. I would recommend it for a family dinner."

  • "Our family of 6 enjoyed our lunch. We all had a variety of menu items and were all equally satisfied. We had a wonderful waitress. I will say, the decor in the restaurant has seen better days. I think the menu prices reflect available cash for a facelift. Other than the decor, I have only positive reviews."

  • "The restaurant was nice. It was my granddaughter's birthday and they made it special. Would dine there again!"

  • "Food wasn't very good. Not worth going to. There aren't many other even decent places to eat near hershey park.."

  • "Restaurant was not what we were looking for. Disappointed that no characters were available for pics as advertised !!"

  • "We spent a wonderful day in Hersheypark going on all the roller coasters. Our reservation was at 5:30pm and we were seated immediately upon arrival. We were greeted by our waitress (wish I could remember her name) and she took our drink order. The beers were super cold, the food was excellent and the desserts well let's say heavenly. We were provided with the perfect ending to an amazing day. Will definitely visit the restaurant on our next trip."

  • "Nice to have a break from walking Hershey and have a fun place to sit down in air-conditioning and have some lunch."

  • "This is a nice dining option if you don't want to leave the park. The food is reasonable considering the location. The quality is a step up from what you find in the park. Adult beverages are available for those that would like one. The children's meal includes a drink."

  • "The wait staff were pleasant and always on time when you need something, the food was amazing, and wow even the tables had these cards with cute topics to talk about. Although there was a kid screaming next to us when he didn't get his peanutbutter pie... but otherwise the whole place was just perfect, the lights were even Hershey kisses :D"

  • "Right outside park entrance, kid-themed décor, food was good but pricey. Since this is kid focused, adult beverages are available but not obvious. While we didn't experience challenges, we seemed to be the only table around us that got the food that we ordered as ordered. I wouldn't make a special trip to return but it fit the need at the time."

  • "While there were a great many people working at the restaurant, the service was quite slow and our waitress inattentive. The food was good and it was nice to have a sit down meal at an amusement park. We did not order alcohol but they do have a drink menu. Overall it was good but I think the staff lacked organization."

  • "We had reservations and were seated immediately. We also placed our order immediately. It took a half an hour for our appetizer to reach our table. By an hour and 15 minutes we got tired of waiting for our entree's. The thing that bothered me the most was that the food for my 3 and 5 year old never reached the table. For an organization that caters to families this really upset me. I then had to search for our waitress to cancel our order. The manager never approached our table to offer any apologizes, etc. I will never go back. I would prefer to leave the park and eat elsewhere."

  • "We went for dinner after the park, the service was poor. Place was unorganized, there were so many families that were waiting to order as no server approached their tables. Food was OK, we were lucky as we sat down before the rush. If I was one of the other families, I would have walked out. I would expect better service from a place that in part of the park."

  • "Went here on th 4th and had a 1230pm reservation. We were seated promptly when we arrived. Staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was great. Kids loved the Hershey character themed decor. Seemed more fit for lunch than dinner. Very pleased overall."

  • "Definitely family friendly! The service was great, nice selection of food, and average prices for being at the park itself. We had 8pm reservations, but they were able to seat us a half hour early."

  • "For the caliber of dining that I thought this would be, the food was not prepared fresh (could taste onion on salad that they took off) and food was microwaved. Desserts and chocolate martini were fabulous. If they are going to be in category of fine dining, it should be fresh, if not it could be just classified as "amusement park" dining that is always expensive because of the "experience"."

  • "We scheduled this reservation for group of 21...that include 17 kids! The restaurant was excellent from getting us seated right away...and getting cold drink to us very quickly (it was a very hot day). They got our order in and to us very quickly and everyone's food was correct. We were on a tight schedule...and we received excellent service and not only got finished on-time, but AHEAD of schedule!!! Food was about average for amusement park...but good. Surroundings were outstanding for location very festive. Great place to take a break and get out of the heat! Loved it!!!"

  • "For a restaurant in a theme park, it was not bad. The kids menu could be more diverse and it would be nice if it was noted that they don't participate in certain park things such as the refillable cup."

  • "Hersheypark Place is a kid-friendly restaurant conveniently located directly outside the park. The food is American (burgers, chicken, etc.). It's served quickly by nice waitresses."

  • "Nice comfortable atmosphere. It made for a comfortable relaxing lunch after walking around the park. prices are reasonable and the quality met expectations."

  • "This place is fine for a quick bite but the description leads you to believe its a nice restaurant which it's not"

  • "I thought because I booked it through open table that it would be a little "nicer" than a walk up food stand in the park. not really -- the food was just ok . I had 7 teenage girls with me that are always hungry -- and not one of them finished their meal . the one up side is that is comfortable and cool . Great to sit down and get out of the summer heat ."

  • "The restaurant is located just outside the entrance gate to the amusement park. It was a good place to take a break in the middle of the day without the hassle of finding enough seating for 5 people at the same table. A/C is also nice in the middle of a hot day. Not much ambiance. The menu offered plenty of items. The food was good for the price, but this is an amusement park so expectations can't be too high. If you have a child who is allergic to dairy, make sure you mention that you don't want cheese on the "sliders" ordered from the children's menu. One of the Hershey characters showed up while we were eating. Many families took the opportunity to take photos."

  • "We booked this reservation thinking we could get some higher quality food in a full service atmosphere without leaving the theme park. We had 2 seniors, 1 adult, and 3 children. The kids menu was typical but the adult menu left us wanting. There were no original offerings and the food could be categorized as mediocre bar and grill food. Nothing fresh or original. We left wishing we had stuck with the great food court in the park for our evening meal."

  • "Found this restaurant on line while checking out the park. I figured it was Father's Day so it might be nice to give the dads in our group a sit down dinner even though we were at a park. I liked that I was able to make a reservation in advance, since I wasn't sure just how busy it would be on Father's Day. The wait staff was wonderful, the food was delicious (try the chocate BBQ ribs!), and the food was reasonably priced. I highly recommend taking the time to stop in when you visit Hershey Park."

  • "Easy to get to sit down in a cool restaurant on a hot day is the best to say about the experience. Waitresses were polite and clearly inexperienced. Not very attentive or friendly despite an almost empty restaurant at 1 pm on a Sunday. Just polite. Food was mundane at best. Dessert was very good however as expected!! Prices were not outrageous but neither was the food."

  • "They advertise this as character dining and there are no characters walking around, just paintings on the wall. Last time we went there were 3 characters walking around for pictures. Very disappointing. Prices were high like the park itself."

  • "While what we ordered was delicious, we all agreed that the menu needed more options, especially chicken. The entree prices were a little high. The service was great and overall this was a great part of a wonderful day at Hershey! Just a note, we went with a child with Celiac Disease, a teen with a nut allergy and an older gentleman with diabetes. My little boy loved his gluten free dinner. The waitress was very knowledgable about all three conditions."

  • "We ate here with a huge group of 28 people. Our table was ready 15 min ahead of schedule which was great. Our waitress was fantastic and very knowledgable as far as the menu. Cheesesteak was delicious. All in all would eat here again."

  • "The food was mediocre at best. We went there because we wanted a sit-down dinner, but it was not worth it at all. "

  • "Food was basically the same as in the park but more money. It was freezing and could not find our waitress several times, and there was only 4 parties there. "

  • "Servers were friendly and had a good menu for kids. Would recommend coming here to eat at least once while your visiting here as we e probably will as well. Also love the convenience of Open Table to make the reservation and eating experience that much more pleasant."

  • "The service was very good our waitress was keeping up with 3 other tables. Food was cooked to our liking. The AC was hardly noticeable cause there was outside seating and the door was constantly open. The adjacent room would have been a better choice. The only hang up I would comment on was the noise LEVEL! I have been here several times over the years its our unwind/recharge place. Our room had 2 parties of about 6-8 adults that were louder than a room full of toddlers on OREOS! I could not talk to my wife who was less than 2 feet from me. It was such a distraction. Thank GOD they left half way through our stay whew. The last 3 times we visited was fine. I would highly recommend and watch out for the large parties lol."

  • "IT was pouring rain when we stopped for lunch . The 12 of us were very happy to come in out of the rain , all at once we were warm and dry !The food was good my only complaint was extremely slow service. We.waited for almost an hour for our food ,the restaurant was not busy. Even so we would go back ,as it is the only sit down restaurant."

  • "My pulled pork sandwich was dry and the cole slaw was stale. The appetizers were great though. Could not say the same about my sandwich. "

  • "The restaurant was uncomfortably cold for me and my group of ten. The food was only average and not worth the price! Also, I was told when I booked the reservations that characters make appearances throughout the night as well as during breakfast and I came to find out that this was not the case. For an overly priced restaurant, twenty feet from the Hershey Park main gate, I definitely expected more!"

  • "We went there to celebrate my son's first birthday and had a great time! Besides the 7 adults and a baby we also had 9 and 5 year old with us. The food and staff were great, super accommodating and really made it a memorable experience for all involved. For anyone doing a birthday celebration (rather than traveling with a cake) I would suggest requesting the small ice cream cake they have there. It was supposed to only serve 5 but it stretched to 9 (10 w/the baby). "

  • "Maybe because this was the Hershey Springtime and the Restaurant may not be fully open, but the food was not that good. My Salmon was good but my potatoes were ice cold and the broccoli and cauliflower were raw. My mother had the pot roast and it was terribly dry and as well her potato and veggies were cold and raw. The rest of family had burgers fries and they were okay. It was a cute place and the staff was nice and friendly, they just really need to put more heart and soul into the food. That's what sells the place."

  • "I can easily recommend Hershey Park Place to families. The theming is adorable, well done amusement park decor w/a coaster track running right through one of the rooms. Very clean, new & comfortable. The food is delicious and the portions border ridiculous! The prices were right - lunch was $30 for three people and dinner was $40 which included pot roast w/four sides (!), crab cakes & a kids meal. The staff was very friendly (Robin for dinner and I didn't get our lunchtime waitress's name) and the service was quick. There was no wait (reservations are obviously accepted) but we didn't need them. The location of this restaurant is right outside the main gate. As a special treat, my son was given a cute bag of candy on Easter :) Enjoy!!"
