HerbsaintThe favorite of allHerbsaint is truly our favorite restaurant in the city. Have followed the food here since Susan Spicer was in charge and now
Donald Link and his chef carry on the tradition of fun and eclectic dining and spirits.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good. This is my third visit to Herbsaint. I have yet to be disappointed. It's chic and elegant without being stuffy.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! There's delicious food all over this city, so you have to be picky. Herbsaint served one of the best meals I have ever had. I had the lamb neck entree and my boyfriend had the duck. Both amazing. I think the high point of the meal, however, was the starters. The ceviche was world class. The homemade spaghetti with the pancetta fried poached egg was amazing. We asked the servers for recommendations, took every last one of them, and wouldn't change a thing.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great location! The fries, the salads and the small plates were all wonderful. We ran out of room so now we need to go back to try the entrees and desserts. Recommended to us by a local as one of the 'not to miss' places, they were right.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding again!Fantastic experience once again with a VERY creative menu! If you like to be adventurous this restaurant stands alone & doesn't serve the standard Nola fare you can get everywhere else! Beef short rib app was amazing as was everything else we got! Highly recommend!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLone love loved it!!!
OurLone love loved it!!!
Our second lunch here in 4 days. Only sorry we're leaving tomorrow.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible dinner! We asked the waiter for some of his favorites and he recommended the small plate chicken rillette. It was so yummy! Another dish he recommended was the small plate pasta with a flash fried egg with runny yolk. This dish was unbelievable. We wish we had more. Overall the food and ambience was one of our favorites in New Orleans5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDELICiOUS!Probably one of the best meals I have ever had in New Orleans, well, August is pretty close. Was absolutely delicious with even better drinks! A great scene and really interesting foods. Can get a little loud and they have seating in the bar area (even if you make a reservation) which can be a little odd because you are not in the main dining area.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food, and good service,Delicious food, and good service, but think the dining room could use a little "pick me up" decor wise....things seemed a little drab....but overall, a nice experience....5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect meal!We enjoyed a perfect meal. With our reservation we were seated as we arrived. . Upon arrival we saw we were to be seated in a room with several large parties and they were able to move us to a somewhat quieter space. The food was presented elegantly and each course was fabulous. The chocolate mousse dessert was the final touch to a great evening.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant! The foodGreat restaurant! The food is delicious and the presentation was wonderful!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGourmet DiningThe food selections are beautifully prepared and delicious. The specials were excellent. Don't skip the deserts. The Saint Charles streetcar rolls right by, making outdoor dining a little noisy.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food at HerbsaintEnjoyed a good dinner at Herbsaint. Started with small plates of mushroom with risotto, soft shell shrimp with a fantastic sauce-highly recommend and short rib. Entrees were pork belly with pok choy (not a misspelling). It was a different taste so ask before you order if you are not sure about it, chicken with a crawfish sauce and creamy mashed potatoes- again highly recommend was hesitant to order but waiter said it was very good- rib eye with french fries and dipping sauce. For dessert we shared sorbert of the day strawberry lemonade very good. Service was very attentive. Tried the specialty drinks all were good but had to have the waiter explain all of them because we couldn't figure out what was in them by their name.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingFood, service , ambiance !
One if the best places in Nola5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe flavors were distinctThe flavors were distinct and pronounced with each dish being perfectly prepared and remarkable. We later learned that a mushroom and polenta casserole was made so amazingly delicious by mixing in shrimp butter with the polenta, oh my. Lamb's neck has been ordered every time we dined there, with the crisp exterior and melt-in-your-mouth interior, unbeatable, as was the vinegared tomato topped pasta accompanying it. Kale and smoked drum salad was a triumph, and deserts combined creamy ice cream with imaginative pastry. Service was impeccable. We are foodie types who visit 10 or more restaurants each trip to New Orleans, Herbsaint rates at the top with few comparables, which is really saying something about this delicious town.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative food using greatCreative food using great ingredients, as much as possible locally sourced. This is a classy joint and the food was delicious. It was $100 per couple with no dessert, but 2 appetizers among 4 people and a bottle of wine.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good. Every time we dineVery good. Every time we dine here we have an amazing experience.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was another nice lunchIt was another nice lunch at Herbsaint. A little pricey and noisy but overall very good.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Try the HouseGreat food. Try the House Spaghetti Carbonara. Awesome.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMonday night at HerbsaintWe were a group of 4 for dinner on a Monday night. We had fantastic service - no pompous servers as previously mentioned in some reviews. Our food was awesome - someone in our party had the special fish of the day, which was flounder, I believe but I could be wrong, & they said it was very good. I had the muscovy duck leg which was one of the best duck preparations I had ever had. My husband had the ribeye & it was done prefect. We also had the baked asiago with oregano and the pan roasted mushrooms with polenta.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant experience in NOLAThe ribeye was one of the best steaks I've ever had. My husband and I had a lovely dinner here the weekend of our first wedding anniversary and I think it was the best meal we had all weekend. The bartenders were lovely to chat with, too, when we had an after dinner cocktail.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe combination of food, serviceThe combination of food, service and ambience really can't be beat. Herbsaint pulls off the hat trick of being intimate, elegant, chic and rustic. Yet, it's not at all stuffy. The staff are very friendly and professional. They seem earnestly proud of every dish they bring out of the kitchen...as well they should be. Make a reservation. You won't be disappointed.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWee bit noisy outside withWee bit noisy outside with the cable cars going by.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHerbsaint is one of my favoriteHerbsaint is one of my favorite restaurants! Great menu and terrific staff!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNoise level was fairly high,Noise level was fairly high, but likely due to the event that was ending, and all the revelers were piling into the restaurant at the same time. However, we were seated at a two top, very close to a group of three, who seemed to enjoy shouting into eachothers' faces. But again, no fault of the restaurant, but if you are have a tough time hearing, I would ask for a quiet section in advance. Server seemed to be struggling a bit, perhaps new, but that didn't affect anything, and the rest of the team was very efficient with checking in on us when she wasn't around. May take me a little longer to head back here, but I definitely will. Great place to watch the streetcars pass.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service was excellent. WFood and service was excellent.
We found the cocktails to be extremly small, and the wine list very expensive.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMRight sized portions and fabulousRight sized portions and fabulous food. Excellent wine list that matched the menu.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best!I've been going to New Orleans for years and tried many great restaurants. Herbsaint is in the top along with Commanders and Cochon. The wine was superb. The service was excellent. The food was OMG! We had the tuna, spaghetti and the short rib. All perfection! For dessert we had the banana tart and the pudding cake...delish! I would go back in a heartbeat!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMProbably our favorite mealProbably our favorite meal in New Orleans during an 8 day stay. Highly recommended. I would make returning a priority on my next visit. Everything we had was wonderful.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOur party of four ate fromOur party of four ate from the small plates selections, sharing each of the shrimp dishes, the mussels, the spaghetti, and one of the daily specials. At our server's suggestion, we also ordered and shared the duck, which was so tender that it did not require cutting to split. Kudos to our server and to the restaurant for encouraging this approach to dining.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic service at Herbsaint.I can't say enough about the great service at Herbsaint. Our server not only was friendly but was knowledgable about the restaurant, the menu and the city in general. He made all the difference between a mediocre meal and a good one. Food sorry to say was not exceptional. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. The gumbo was good, but the special arugula salad was super plain and underdressed. The gnocchi was very good but again the sausage sandwich was plain and looked very undercooked. The onion straw appetizer brought by our server was DELISH!!! We should have ordered that in the first place. We will definitely try this place again and make sure to take server recommendations.2/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticHerbsaint lives up to the hype. We had several great dining experiences on our trip to New Orleans but this one tops them all. Amazing food and cocktails, great service to boot. Don't miss it!11/15/2012 12:00:00 AM
