Now the four of us are seniors but this is the only establishment I have ever been in that it took the phone app for a flashlight to read the menu. The local friend that mentioned Herbs & Rye was right on the mark about service, it was just okay at best. When in town we prefer to try local businesses away from the strip but I'm not sure I would try this one again."

  • "Great neighborhood hangout with active bar scene. Happy Hour runs from 5-8pm which is good because the entrees are 1/2 price during that time. Regular prices are way too high and the 1/2 brings them back to what they should be. I had a Kansas steak which wasn't anywhere close to the Kansas meat I had when living in Kansas. The garlic whipped potatoes had too much garlic and salt. My husband had a filet which he said was good - he had better - but it was good. We ordered desert and waited so long that we finally told them to forget it. We had finished our after dinner drinks by then. They brought the desert right out then and I must say it was much more then we expected and the best part of the meal."

  • "The menu that you display on your site does not match the one in the restaurant. The prices were wrong and the items were out-dated. The staff at Herbs and Rye were very apologetic regarding this flaw and mentioned that it happens quite often. They compensated us with a complimentary dessert. Open table needs to update and communicate with the restaurants they are representing."

  • "Celebrated my 38th birthday with a group of 11. An hour prior to my reservation, Herbs and Rye called to ask if we would like to be seated near the bar. Of course, who doesn't like being near all the action? We arrived about 30 minutes before Happy Hour was ending, our server offered to quickly take our drink and food orders. The Happy Hour specials are amazing. The mac and cheese is to die for. All but one person loved their food. One person had ordered the linguine and clams and complained that it was bland. The server quickly remedied the situation by promptly bringing her another dish. All in all, this was one of the best birthdays ever. I highly recommend Herbs and Rye. Great ambience! Great service! Great food! Amazing drinks!"

  • "Celebrated our one year anniversary here and was not disappointed. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Our Server (Ronald) was awesome, being first timers he gave us a full run down on the drink menu, its divided into Eras starting with turn of the century up to current. The steaks we ordered were absolutely FABULOUSLY prepared, we had the filet mignon and NY strip melt in your mouth goodness. The side dishes were fabulous as well I recommend the truffle mac and cheese. Definitely go during their 'Happy Hour' select items are half off and such a bargain for what you'd pay elsewhere on the strip. I plan on making it an annual event,"

This was the perfect spot. Food was excellent, server was great and the bartender was able to accomodate any request. A great place for a great steak away from the "strip". Would recommend!"

  • "Ate here on New Year's Eve. When we walked in, one of the Friday the 13th movies was playing on both TVs in the bar/dining area. Just what I want to watch during a nice holiday dinner. WTF! Our server was sloppy. He asked if I wanted a drink midway through my meal and I asked for the menu to chose a drink. He came back 15 min later when I was done with my meal (would have been nice to get a drink during my meal) so I did not order another one. Don't servers work on tips and want the guest to order more drinks and increase the tab? Maybe not? Ended up only having one drink, and that one took 20+ minutes to come to the table (we think that the waiter forgot to turn in our drink order or maybe he was just high)."

  • "We decided to give it a try based upon Open Table reviews. Had the Kansas City Steak and Linguine and Clams. Both dishes were extremely good, plus we happened to come in during Happy Hour which was half off the dishes. Our waiter, and the entire wait staff were very pleasant and attentive and they checked on us often. We actually loved the place and we will be going back again...soon."

  • "I loved the half-off steaks for happy hour. Had the carpaccio which was great, filet with blue cheese crumbles and bacon, and a porterhouse. The sides were delicious and steaks cooked just right. My only complaint is a very large table got seated before us so our waiter seemed to busy with them the entire time,making our wait time to order and reorder drinks very long throughout the night."

  • "Alenrry the GM was very accommodating. We celebrated as a family my sisters masters degree grad dinner. Group of seven and were seated in a reasonable amount of time and treated like family. The GM had as reserved for a later time but didn't make a fuss over the confusion. Great guy. I will be coming here again."

  • "OMG! How have I missed this diamond? Folks please you must experience! We went during the early happy hour. So steaks were half off. We had shrimp cocktail, bone in Kansas City Strip, truffle mac and cheese with bacon, jalepeno creamed corn, and spinach. We added the special Herbs and Rye rub to our steaks which gave it a fantastically delicious flavor. But tread lightly as it was very spicy. They socialize in Prohibition era cocktails. The Aviator and the Honey Bee were superb. The décor was dark, old steak house with an updated twist. Looooved it! Great for dates, or socializing! I won't step foot in Vegas without visiting this wonderful restaurant.MY NEW FAVORITE!"

  • "OK Open Table, we would have never known this place existed had it not been on Open Table; but I 'm glad it was. As other reviewers have noted, the building is unremarkable and can easily be missed, but beyond that the steaks were terrific, the service attentive and friendly, and the prices reasonable. The inside is old school steak house with traditional round leather booths in the bar area, warm and comfortable. This is now an absolute "must" on our dining list for Las Vegas."

  • "This was my first time at Herbs and Rye. I had heard they made amazing drinks so a group of friends and I decided to check it out. They had a wonderful and large selection of cocktails. My experience with previous cocktails that I've gotten in bars and clubs around vegas has been ok. They are usually either too sweet or the alcohol overpowers everything. At herbs and rye even the super strong cocktails were delicious and perfectly made. I would definately recommend it to a friend and already planning on going again. Id recommend the moscow mule, especially since its perfect for the holiday season"

  • "Great place to meet friends and have a great meal. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The restaurant is best known for its drink menu, but the meals were out of this world. If you like to enjoy your meal between 6 to 8PM the prices on 90% of the items were 50% off. including steak. The atmosphere was quiet, and lighting very subdued. Very friendly and helpful staff. A great dining experience."

  • "We went to the Zoppe' circus at the Smith Center Friday evening and wanted to have dinner afterwards at a nearby restaurant. I remembered H&R from Open Table and thought I would give it a try. We were thrilled to discover this gem, very centrally located west of Downtown on Sahara. Our server was excellent. He took the time to discuss the concept of the bar and restaurant as well as the distinct cocktails. The dinner menu was very nice and we settled for the filet with blue cheese, along with truffle mac and cheese. We also had the burssel sprouts with big morsels of bacon and cheese. Amazing! We will definitely add H&R as one of our "Goto" spots going forward."

  • "We were looking for an out of the way "Steak" house - Not too expensive and not one of the commercial places We found this spot on the phone application - and - said OK we went - It is a great small tavern - makes me think of Vegas from the 50's - Great Bar - They have great steaks - great prices - but NO "Baked Potato" - other than that - the meal was great - the service was " Fantastic " - and - the place is good for romance and meeting - Loved it - Will go back again -"

  • "The outside didn't have the sparkle and glow like the restaurants on strip, but the food was better than the high dollar restaurant I have been too. The prices was great for the food. My wife and I had a steak and I would put it up to compete with a Kevin Rathbun's steak. The steaks was cooked to perfection and the taste was outstanding. We we're celebrating our birthday and they presented us with homemade buttermilk donuts that was good as well. This is place I will visit ever time I am in Las Vegas."
