  • Cross Street: 105th Street (NW Corner)
  • Public Transit: The West Side IRT (#'s 1 & 9 trains) stop at 103rd and 110th Streets. HENRY's is a three minute walk from the 103rd Street stop and a five minute walk from the 110th Street stop. The M104, the M116 and the famous LaGuardia Airport bus, the M60 stop at 106th and Broadway putting you right on our block.
  • Parking: No
  • Parking Details: There is ample on street parking around HENRY's. The bad news is that the parking meters are expensive (25¢ per 10 minutes!) and need to be fed 'til 10pm. Please be aware that the city is very diligent about ticketing. The good news is that we have plenty of quarters available at the bar and we would be happy to run out to feed your meter. We don't want to interrupt your meal. Oh, and on Sundays the meters do not need feeding so come enjoy our bountiful Upper West Side Brunch in peace.
A word from Henry's Restaurant
HENRY's is a modern American bistro located on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Our gracious and spacious Dining Room, Bar and Sidewalk Cafe are designed after the Arts & Crafts masterpiece, the Gamble House with mahogany wainscoting and French doors. The walls are filled with bright, food-themed poster art from the Herman Miller Company's Summer Picnic series. HENRY's is the restaurant that one of New York's greatest neighborhoods deserves. We serve an extensive menu of contemporary American bistro food for Lunch, Brunch, Dinner and Late Night. Our bar offers an all-American wine program based on the discovery of delicious wines at accessible prices. We serve an exciting cocktail list, bottled beer on ice and fresh craft beers. HENRY's management and staff meet here every day of the year (except Christmas) to offer our loyal Guests the gift of our work and the value of our experience. We offer great food and beverage at a reasonable price with healthy portions of abundant service.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Looks like a restaurant you might find in any town USA. But the food is excellent, the service is fine. Crowd a little older than average. Makes most people Feel young."

  • "Expensive. Considerate in letting our group stay as long as we did on a busy evening."

  • "We bought a set of "Dining Deck" cards to help get us out of our restaurant rut. Our experience has been that restaurants subscribing to such promotions need the help in getting diners through their doors, often because the food isn't so great. Not the case with Henry's. The first time we arrived without a reservation, it was a long wait, so we made reservations and returned. We loved the variety on the menu and couldn't decide so tried many things. ALL delicious! We are kidless but were impressed by how engaging the staff was to kids of all ages."

  • "Henry's is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. It is beautiful, quiet, roomy -- so different from other NYC restaurants."

  • "Took my nephew here for brunch. Henry's offered nice ambiance with decent service. But when my nephew's order of French Toast arrived, I was astonished to find only one piece of bread cut in half with no garnish. Good thing he included a couple of eggs with the order...but even those weren't enough to satisfy his appetite (which was not enormous!)."

  • "Service, food and ambiance exceeded expectations. We had a delightful evening."

  • "Henry's is a delightful find on the Upper West Side. The menu has something for everyone and the wait staff is courteous and cheerful. Though the dining room was crowded, the noise level was low. We were seated at a window table which afforded a pleasant view of the busy street. The food was tasty and timely and the dessert was divine. Definitely worth a trip uptown!"

  • "Every time I go to Henry's I notice three things: (1) the noise level is manageable so you can actually have a conversation with your fellow diners; (2) the tables are nicely spread out so you don't feel crushed and cramped, and (3) they don't rush you so you can eat at a leisurely pace....not many places can boast of all three!!"

  • "We had the "lobster BLT" special for lunch, and the slivers of lobster were barely enough to fill one piece of bread. Very disappointing... The service here is fairly steady -- friendly, mostly attentive. Overall, we've been here a lot over the years in the neighborhood, and have just come to expect a sort of 'hit or miss' on the various orders we place. Sometimes -- terrific ! Othertime... just ok. The best = the bread -- fabulous!!"

  • "We live in New Rochelle. This is our go to place to meet with friends visiting NYC from out of town or who live in the city. It is easy for us to get to, we avoid midtown traffic, and we can usually find parking easily. Henry' s has the vibe of a true NYC restaurant, the food is delicious, the wine list fairly priced, and the service is always great. Usually come for dinner. Had brunch here recently for the first time. Loved the menu choices, the muffin basket, the prices, and the live music. A gem of a restaurant! Love it!"

  • "After a long wait for our reserved table, our waiter did not tell us of the specials which my dining companions would have chosen. gThey saw neighboring tables getting them) After ordering it then took an hour and ten minutes to get any food. Wrong food given to wrong people. The side dishes didn't come for another ten minutes. The manager did apologize an d provided complimentary dessert. The waiter was snotty to boot!"

  • "I eat at Henry's about once a week and I am seldom disappointed. The food is great, it is near my home, but I always marvel at the incredible staff. I love the folks who work there! During the past weeks, we have had such great service from Maggie, Victoria and Steve. I consider myself lucky to be a regular, and I love the way I am treated."

  • "Went here for Valentine's Day on a last-minute reservation. Excellent server. Food was good. Oysters were what oysters are, iceberg wedge salad was not great, looked and tasted sort of like a McDonald's salad, but the main courses (half chicken, lamb) were both excellent, juicy, soft, melt-in-your-mouth, and same with the mashed potato and polenta sides. The place is spacious and welcoming, and has a decidedly suburban feel. Sort of like that one restaurant in every small-to-medium town that is a bit nicer than all the others. You are not seated on top of anyone else and the noise is reasonable even when filled with people. Crowd ranges from newly-babied to newly-grandchilded. Nice, but more of a reliable family place than a romantic spot."

  • "When I visit from SF, this is the place I will return to for comfort and comfort food - off the beaten track, it feels like 'my' neighborhood haunt for Sunday nite dinner or on the way home from a busy day. It's one of the few places in NYC I've discovered that let's me feel like a local, not a visitor to your fair city."

  • "This was our first time here, having just moved to the neighborhood. We are seeking a "go to" place for a regular Friday night dinner like we used to have in our old area. This place was a pleasant find. Food was generally very good. My squash soup was bland and underseasoned but the mussels were excellent. Really nice space and not at all crammed in as is usual in Manhattan restaurants. Wine prices were quite fair and the bartender made a decent martini (my Friday night drink that i look forward to all day!) While I'm sure we will continue to explore the local options, I'm also sure this place will become a regular stop."

  • "We go every weekend with our children and it's so nice to have found a place with such friendly service. As soon as we walk through the door, the kids' usual orders are started, making for an efficient and tasty dining experience."

  • "Appreciated the restaurant's service as our group needed to have dinner within a period of an hour. All enjoyed the food!"

  • "I liked the venue- it's warm and attractive and not too noisy (although it's somewhat noisy because of the acoustics of the room.) Some of the tables are round which allows 5 people to converse easily. However, the food itself varied in quality. We were there for brunch and I had the pancakes which were absolutely tasteless and somewhat rubbery. The eggs were ok and the people who had french toast liked it well enough."

  • "This was another great meal at our wonderful local place, Henry's. Some friends from New Jersey joined us, and they were suitably impressed as well. Everything was great. We particularly like the fact that the tables are well-spaced. The place always feels lively and comfy without being deafening. It's perfect!"

  • "The atmosphere is fine, the service is good, and the food is fantastic! If you are looking for a terrific stand-by on the UWS, go to Henry's. I am a regular and the kitchen is extremely consistent. I hope Henry's can stand the test of time!"

  • "Henry's had a really nice and reasonably priced four-course prix fixe menu with wine pairings! The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service excellent as always. It was a great way to spend New Year's Eve with friends."

  • "We just had a fabulous family brunch at Henry's to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was spectacular and perfectly priced - $5 bloody marys and mimosas don't hurt! l Our waiter was friendly and on top of it - knowing what to bring out first to appease the kiddos. The live music created the perfect brunch atmosphere. Overall, a totally enjoyable experience that we look forward to recreating soon."

  • "The title says it all. No; Henry's does not compete with NY's top - and most expensive - restaurants. That said; it gets an A+ grade from us."

  • "All-around fantastic dining experience. I requested a quiet table for a special evening, and my request was accommodated without question. Service was excellent--not overly intrusive, yet attentive and prompt. Food was fresh and prepared as described. Highly recommend the oysters and appetizers for sharing. Overall, a top notch dining experience that keeps me going back for more."

  • "Henry's has managed to make a balance of very very good food, friendly service, and classic atmosphere. It is perfect for a nice dinner without having to leave the neighborhood."

  • "I'm new to the neighborhood ("Manhattanville"), and fortunately discovered Henry's on New Year's Eve. They had an excellent prix fixe menu for the occasion, and the regular menu as well. For New Year's, the restaurant had an excellent 4-piece jazz band on hand (the Brauner Brothers), so the atmosphere was, I'm sure, a bit more raucous than usual. (I look forward to going back on a "regular" night, when it's more subdued and intimate.) Henry's has a warm, colorful décor, andd the service Is gracious and personable. (The owner said a sincere hello to every table.) The food was VERY good: simple and elegant without being too fussy. The duck confit with winter vegetables was outstanding. Also a very interesting all-American wine list."

  • "We've been going to Henry's for years -- for brunch on occasion, but mostly for dinner. There is always something for everyone on their menu: carnivores and vegetarians, those who want to chow down and those who want to eat lightly will all be satisfied. The ambiance is welcoming and homey without being the slightest bit corny, there is room between the tables, and you won't get sticker shock. You won't be blown away by the food, but it is reliably delicious. I never get tired of it."

  • "You can hardly find these anymore in a restaurant. Most managements have decided that customers want "excitement" which translates into crowded and noisy. However the smart operators will give customers peace and comfort which is exactly what Henry's does. Add to it a pleasant menu and servers without attitude and it's a potent combination."

  • "What a gem...always reliable, always good. I can go there a few times a month and not tire of it. Food is excellent, service is excellent, you can have a conversation with friends without having to scream, prices are not low but they are reasonable. A glass of wine and an entree and tip and tax will cost about $45, which has become the norm."
    Dined on 12/18/2013
  • "The food was consistently good, though not necessarily for the price. The friendly service and slight more refined atmosphere than neighboring restaurants make it worth a visit. (Avoid the overly greasy Duck Confit Spring Rolls.)"
