A word from Henry's at the Farm
Henry's at the Farm, where "local" is more than a trend, it is our mantra. Henry's is only steps away from Buttermilk's organic Millstone Farm and minutes away from neighboring farms where eggs, honey, herbs and seasonal produce make their way from field, to our kitchen, then to your table. Henry's dinner menu is country inspired, contemporary cuisine incorporating sophisticated entrees with mouthwatering burgers, intriguing pizzas and a daily selection of house-made desserts.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Very warm cozy place. Sit out on the balcony for a great view of the pond and birds. Service and food were both excellent."

  • "There's a new chef at Henry's at the Farm - could not be better. We went two times this week and just made another reservation for a friend's birthday luncheon. Food is farm to table, great bar, great portions, top notch service, very accommodating and a cool restaurant. Go early and walk around the property overlooking the Hudson River and check out the spa. I live near the restaurant, but if I lived in the City, this would be my go to place for an overnight stay. Enjoy."

  • "The service was excellent, the food terrific. My friend from NYC says he will be driving up again, to eat at Henry's, which serves his favorite half-chicken! My salmon was excellent."

  • "We had lunch at Henry's. It was a good experience The service was very good. Our server was very flexible in making dietary changes. The food was nicely presented."

  • "The setting could not be nicer, but the food was just okay. The server was very knowledgable and eager to brag about all the ingredients that are grown right there "on the farm" which sounds good, but just doesn't taste as good as it sounds. It's pretty pricey too. The pay off comes in walking the grounds if it's a nice evening."

  • "Great food served by great wait staff. The 5 of us all loved everything we had, from the beer (SO much that we ended up going to the local beer store the bartender recommended, to buy some to take home) to the desserts. In fact the food was so good we had to go back the next night to eat there again!!"

  • "Visited while staying at the Buttermilk Falls Inn. While monkfish entree was very good my husbands half chicken was over cooked. Appetizers and homemade sorbet were excellent. Service was pleasant."

  • "The food is fresh, perfectly prepared. My husband had the crab cakes and salmon and I the truffled frites and filet and they were amazing! The staff is delightful and they are so proud and enthusiastic about the food they are serving, as they should be. We live in the neighborhood but even if we didn't, this place is well worth a trek. The restaurant, and the B&B, spa and wedding venue are a welcome addition to our sweet Milton-on-the-Hudson hamlet. They always have adventurous cocktails. On this occasion I had a vodka and lovage (think celery) drink that was very refreshing. We haven't had the desserts yet because the dinner portions are so large. We vow to forego appetizers next time so we can make it to dessert!"

  • "We greatly enjoyed our meals. Food was made with fresh ingredients, many grown right on the farm. Creative menu. Food was very well prepared, nicely presented and delicious. Specialty drinks also used ingredients from the farm. The drinks were yummy too. We highly recommend Henry's at the Farm."

  • "Celebrating our 33rd wedding Anniversary, we booked here based on previous reviews. It wound up being better than imagined. From wine to dessert it was fantastic! Located on the grounds of a B & B, the ambiance lent itself to a romantic evening (in spite of a bad rainstorm that evening). The only slight downfall was that I had requested a table with a view for our special occasion and we were seated in the middle of the room right next to the bar. It was obvious that no one had taken note of our request as not once did anyone congratulate us or explain why our request wasn't honored. Service was a tad slow, but we will definitely go back simply to walk the grounds as there appears to be gorgeous grounds to wander."

  • "Grounds of the property and the physical space were noteworthy. The accolades stop there. Food was mediocre across the entire order. Service was spotty with a staff that was more interested in one another them the diners. Desert was a disappoint with only ice cream available. We were informed the pastry chef had deserted. The space and farm to table opportunity deserves a better effort."

  • "We celebrated our wedding anniv. here. The staff knew it was our anniv and brought us a celebratory glass of bubbly first thing. So thoughtful. Our food was delicious and affordable. My husband had pork and I had chicken. The veggies were very tasty as well. Dessert bread pudding and butter cake(like my Grandmother made) were divine. The wait staff was delightful and very attentive. If we lived nearby, Henry's would be a regular spot for us."

  • "The view is spectacular especially on a beautiful day. The brunch was delicious. Unfortunately the service is very unprofessional."

  • "Advertised as a farm to table restaurant, this restaurant doesn't have a menu that suits it's potential. Service was shaky as we had too many people waiting on us at the same time. Would not go back unless the menu changes. Views were the staple here."

  • "The food was wonderful, perfectly prepared . Service was a bit slow but we had a large group of 20 . The scenery around the restaurant was wonderful on the estate. The only downside is the restaurant is up several flights of stairs with no handicap accessibility. My aunt who is 87 and extremely arthritic had a very difficult time.the crabcake was great as well as the truffle French fries."

  • "The food never disappoint here. The dushes are always creative and the staff is always very knowledgeable and courteous about the details. Starter- Truffled Parmesan frites with garlic aioli (wicked good) Entrees- lump crab encrusted salmon on a bed of crispy red bliss and asparagus w honey mustard reduction. Like a great piece of salmon cooked perfectly with a crust of an excellent crab cake mixture pan seared golden on top. Delmonico steak was good with truffled lobster mac n cheese and veg Desserts are stars- creme brulee, apple crisp with house made ice cream - try the buttermilk falls ice cream made with buttermilk!"

  • "First Wednesday in each month Henry's at the Farm features a 3 course dinner at a very reasonable price with a interesting movie/. It was a very pleasurable experience. You may choose to dine either before the movie, while the movie is being shown or after the movie. We had a drink with an appetizer and elected to have our dinner served toward the end of the movie. It worked out fine. The staff couldn't have been nicer. I would only like to suggest that the bar stocked some non-alcoholic beer for us who are the designated drivers. I settled for a cranberry spritzer with lime and it was fine. If you go on a regular night be prepared to spend some real money. It is on the pricey side but very worth it."

  • "Dinner was amazing! Henry's did not disappoint! I brought my husband here for his birthday because he had been wanting to go here forever, and we had an absolutely fantastic meal! We both left very full & very pleased! We're looking forward to dining here again & we're telling all of our friends & family that Henry's is a must!"

  • "We visited for Hudson Valley Restaurant week and were not disappointed. The food and ambiance were great. deducted a few points because the staff seemed disorganized. We had reservations but when we arrived we were told they had overbooked and we needed to wait for the next table. We had asked to have some leftovers baked up to go, but the wait staff never returned with our food. Overall a great meal, and the Inn and grounds are worth visiting."

  • "I took my husband here for his birthday. We pulled into the property and were enchanted by the quant Butterfalls Inn. A little further up the drive was the restaurant housed in what appeared to have been a carriage house. We were surprised by the contemporary interior with some interesting eclectic features like the huge wine bottles used for overhead lighting. It is an enjoyable, casual space with fantastic food a great wine list and beautiful scenes of nature outside the windows. You won't be disappointed."

  • "This was our first time here. We truly enjoyed the entire evening...from the gracious team of waitstaff....to the wonderful cocktails and wine to the delicious food. We chose to order from the Restaurant Week menu, but had the option of the regular menu. The calamari was sweet and tender...seasoned perfectly. My friend had the the caesar salad ...it was to die for! He had the fried chicken, which was great. Everything was fabulous! Not one thing was mediocre. We will return again, next time we'll bring a few "foodie" friends."

  • "Having grown up in the area, my expectations were not high. Milton, the hamlet where Henry's is located, is certainly not gentrified. Though perched on the hills above the Hudson River, the Milton of my childhood recollection is commercial and a bit worn. Henry's was a very pleasant surprise. Part of the Buttermilk Falls Inn, Henry's is a small restaurant with a great setting, nice view of the grounds and good food. Restaurant is beautiful decorated and, unlike so many restaurants, impeccably clean and well-maintained. Our meal was simple and delicious. All high notes except for the chocolate souffle, which was a bit bland. Only one note of caution -- Henry's is on the second floor and reached by stairs. We did not see an elevator."

  • "I found Henry's while looking for a place to dine for restaurant week. The reviews were great so I decided to give it a try, and I'm so happy I did! The service was outstanding and the food was AMAZING. I was even able to make a birthday wish at the end of our meal. I highly recommend this establishment to any one who (truly) loves food!"

  • "We were guests at Buttermilk Falls and had dinner at Henry's twice due to the convenience. I found the pricing did not match the quality of the food and the portions were smaller than I expected for their prices. Sixteen dollars for a hamburger with limp and tasteless fries was insulting, and the fried chicken "special" portion had less meat on it than a couple of wings. All in all, not quite the eating experience we expected it to be. The servers were nice and we struck up conversations with other diners during those two nights. Their comments about the meals seemed to reflect our own. The breakfast's at Buttermilk Falls simply blew us away in comparison to the dinners at Henry's. We found much better food down the road on Route 9W."

  • "The decor has simple yet strong lines that illicit an invitation for leisure. The many windows allow one to admire the natural scenery of the grounds. The food is plated beautifully. There are many specialty cocktails that are priced comparatively. You can wear jeans and a dressy blouse ladies and feel right at home in this beautiful dining area!"

  • "Henry's at the Farm was FABULOUS! The decor alone makes you fall in love with the restaurant. Then you add excellent service and delicious food and it's a dream come true! Loved this experience!"

  • "Been here several x's for, lunch, dinner and now brunch. It's a great day trip to go to buttermilk Falls Inn even if you can't stay over, grounds are beautiful and u can hike around before you eat a delicious meal in a romantic setting. Spa is great too! Love this place. Had brunch this time, there were 4 of us everyone loved their meals- especially the amazingly thick and homey Mac n cheese and the chicken pot pie. Desserts were great too. If you're looking for a special place this is it!"

  • "We dined on a Saturday night during restaurant week. We were greeted with smiles and a welcoming attitude even though we were early for our table. Everyone who served us was pleasant and chatted a little, they were not intrusive just friendly. The food was inventive, flavorful and locally sourced. What a wonderful gem, Cannot wait to return during daylight to explore the grounds and perhaps sample Brunch."

  • "The atmosphere was very nice as well as the service, but the food was not what we expected my date had the chicken pot pie which was very waterery and I had the cheddar soup which was also not as thick as I wanted it. The turkey wrap was very good, overall we had a delightful time. Thank You"

  • "We ate at Henry's twice. A Wednesday night and then Thursday night. On Wednesday, the woman that sat us wasn't that friendly until we made a funny comment to her, that helped to lighten her up. Wednesday was a great dinner. Thursday night we had a great waitress. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. We did have to wait longer in between courses, I didn't mind because you had the scenery to enjoy. My partner was bothered by the slowness because he wanted to eat and go. I enjoyed the restaurant very much and look forward to returning when the weather is nicer."

  • "Had a great time! Food is excellent! Service is good! The place seemed a little under-staffed to handle the crowd. The staff seemed extremely busy and over-worked. Made a reservation, arrived right on time, but still had to wait a good 15-20 minutes for our table to be ready. But once seated, we were well taken care of. Especially, our server, Graham was very courteous and attentive. Good collection of wines. No draft beers. But tried some bottled IPA that turned out to be excellent. Overall, a very good experience."

  • "I love staying at Buttermilk Falls, but I didn't love Henry's at the Farm. The food was mediocre and so was the service. My pasta dish was mushy and felt thrown together as a last-minute vegetarian special when another had run out. I'm not vegetarian, but honestly, nothing else on the menu jumped out as me as looking good. I had heard a duck dish they served was supposed to be great, but didn't see it on the menu. Wish I had! I love the food at Buttermilk Falls Inn, but not here at Henry's. I really think they can do better, and I hope they do since it was really convenient to eat there while staying at the inn."

  • "We have lived in our town of Marlboro for over 8 years and this is our first time at Henrys. The place is beautiful, the service very good but the food was a little pricey, it was Manhattan pricey. My husband and I has the salmon, very tasty but nothing spectacular, except for the half of potatoe underneath the salmon. . Our friends had the steak, he had to return his meal, the meat wasn't cooked enough. The salads looked ok, the flat breads were very good as well as the calamari . Henry's is a beautiful little gem in Milton ny but be prepared to pay for it. For a romantic evening out this is probably the first place I would go in the town, but there are less pricey restaurants with food that is comparable. We have been to them all."
