Diner Reviews
  • "This is gonna sound extremely harsh, but dining here is like going to a cafeteria style restaurant. For those from the south, Luby's is better than this place."

  • "Average food--overrated brunch. Service was icy. Ambiance fine. Noise level fine. "

  • "Second time here. The food was awesome. As a vegan with non-vegan family, it is always welcome to find a restaurant that has options for everyone. Farm to table is also important. The only issue we had was with our server. He only took a drink order for 2/3 of us, walking away before confirming the 3rd person did not want anything (they did). Then, upon returning seemed annoyed when said person asked for clarification of one of the soft drinks. When the person ordered their beverage, he had to be reminded-twice-before serving it. Other than this waiter, had a lovely experience. "

  • "New England farm looks and wonderful food. The wine list is short. The local spirits list was stronger. Service was top-notch. "

  • "We went for brunch as a birthday celebration. While they did not recognize the birthday, everything else was exceptional. I really look forward to going again."

  • "Outstanding homestyle cooking with relatively modest prices"

  • "Best thing about Henrietta's Table was that on a very busy night they did not rush us at all. Let us linger at the table long after our meal was finished."

  • "We celebrated my mother's birthday by taking her to brunch here. The brunch is outstanding - the food is simply delicious and the selection is remarkable. The service was also excellent - attentive without being overbearing."

  • "This is the perfect spot for a meal that your parents can take you to. No one is offended by the reasonably good meal that you will receive and the surroundings and service make you feel like you've been a foodie. Even though you haven't. I guess New England cuisine is just not that interesting to a New Englander, regardless of how green and fresh and sustainable it is, it's still good old cod. But if you're a student at Harvard and your parents are coming in from out of town, it's perfect! The service is excellent."

  • "We were so disappointed with our dining experience Saturday April 5th. The service was very poor starting with our server. Our friend ordered the crab cakes which were good and my lamb shanks were just okay. This was our 3rd dinner at Henrietta's...our first was in the summer of 1995 and it was great. We then moved to CA and returned to MA Dec 2013. We had our next meal at Henrietta's on Jan 3rd 2014 right after a big snow storm. Everything was great and we were excited to take our CA friends. It was a disappointment, so it will be awhile before we go back."

  • "We've always liked Henrietta's for brunch, but our dinner experience was wonderful. The staff was very accommodating and also left us to visit with our friends without rushing us out. Everyone's entree was perfect. We'll go back."

  • "This is New England food with a contemporary flair. We both had the halibut cheeks and potato leek soup and both were delicious. The chocolate pudding dessert was very sweet but it's homemade goodness made us going back for more. All in all, a very satisfying meal."

  • "Great food! Great waitstaff! Well educated weight staff. Excellent experience!"

  • "recently took a young Harvard student out for dinner here as was very disappointed. The menu had very few things on it and all really pretty ordinary - lacking imagination. The service was slow even though there was almost no one in the restaurant - the food came and the plates had no presentation style at all - just food on plates. The fact they charge extra for veggies and sides when portions on main courses are small and over priced was annoying. We were really disappointed with the whole experience."

  • "Henrietta's Table takes standards such as roast chicken and elevates them. The maple smoked duck with duck leg confit was incredible."

  • "I made reservations for lunch, for three people, during the "Dine Out Boston" period in March - to take a friend for a special birthday. We picked this restaurant because one of my friends had been to it before, and really liked it, and also because of the extensive menu options for the "Dine Out Boston" meal. The food was delicious, and everyone who we came in contact with was very kind and professional. They even put a candle on both my friends' desserts, which brought a smile. The atmosphere is also very nice, and with outdoor dining options for warmer weather, and a great bar with view, on top of everything else - a great choice for any occasion! Thank you for a wonderful meal!"

  • "Went for restaurant week with a friend and of the course course meal we ate, the only noteworthy things we savored were the drinks, desserts, and bread. I'd come back for drinks and dessert or brunch but not much else."

  • "Went for restaurant week, when we found out that you can get the same price for the same meals on any sunday - thiursday. They do a price fixe menu on those nights year round. Food was OK, felt very rushed and pre plated. Might have just been for restaurant week though?? Duck was very smoked. Too smoked. Cod cake was incredible delicious. Parfait dessert was very rich. Too rich for me, but my friend enjoyed it. The outside area looked way cooler and nicer. And we were informed they have an award winning brunch. I will try brunch again in the summer. Not a happening place in the winter."

  • "Three of us went for Restaurant week. We had the duck, the salmon and the scrod and everyone was happy with their choices. The service was excellent even though it was very busy."

  • "Visited during Dine-Out Boston week, I was happy that they honored their regular menu, We were not rushed at all , service was excellent without being over-attentive, Server was very informative , Meals were served Quickly and Hot, Food was excellent , Atmosphere was very comfortable, plenty of space between tables - not crowded as typical for City restaurants . Good choices for some reasonably priced Wine and Beer selections , Overall Excellent experience ."

  • "I felt the atmosphere matched the food perfectly. And the food was great! The chowder was delightfully thick and the smoked pastrimi salmon had great flavor. As for dinners I had the striped bass and it was cooked perfectly. The pork chop with apple has received rave reviews both times I have been here. The service is quick and polite. Our waitress was fantastic and very willing to go into great depths describing how the food was cooked and what made certain dishes special. Highly recommend."

  • "My parents and I went on a Friday night at 730 and got a drink at the bar before we sat. Drinks were amazing. We ordered different appetizers and all different entrees. Everything came out in perfect timing and we had enough time to eat our appetizers and relax before our entrees came out. We had lamb, duck and a salmon dinner. The duck was a breast and leg, absolutely delicious. Desserts were chocolate bread pudding, maple cheesecake and a custard. I tried them all and were great! Servers were very sweet and helped us with the menu before we had to ask."

  • "The food at Henrietta's table was great. Our group of 4 each got an appetizer and entree. The ingredients were fresh, and everyone was happy with their choices. We weren't too thrilled with the hostess' demeanor or seating choice. Our 4 top was seated near a large, noisy party of 8+ even though other suitable tables were open."

  • "If u like great food with farm to table ingredients it doesn't get much better than henriettas table. My favorite the salmon pastrami."

  • "the toast was burned ,the coffee lukewarm still the service is rapid and the place has no competition for breakfast in harvard Square so the room has a buzz"

  • "I was expecting good quality food, but my three courses were not special at all - food I could easily have cooked myself to be honest. At the end, I was suprised by the price: I went there because it was restaurant week, and ended up paying a lot of money, even without having consumed any wine... given the quality of food I received, I was even more frustrated... You add to that that we were almost kicked out by the waiters at the end of the evening..."

  • "i have been here twie & each time i left stuffed!!there are no smaal portions here-the food is great & alot of it is local-not cheap-but worth every penny"

  • "Excellent service. Tried the restaurant week set (corn chowder, herb-crusted rotisserie chicken and chocolate bread pudding) the dessert was really nice!"

  • "I thought this place was great! I am a vegetarian and normally have only one choice on the menu (which usually involves mushrooms or a veggie burger). I had the lentil/bean chili with a side of mash potatoes and it was delicious. The service was fast and the staff were very friendly. Maybe not the best place for serious foodies but amazing for hearty, wholesome, tasty food. Also, speaking as an Irish person who has recently moved here - potatoes were DELISH!"

  • "Having the best table in the place was the first thing that went right! And great service by all who served our table and let us enjoy a leisurely dinner. The food was very good, if a little plain (i.e. bland). Everything was very fresh and plating was attractive. The dessert was spectacular."

  • "As an international visitor to Cambridge and Harvard I searched the web for 'New England Cooking' and Henrietta's came up. This turned out to be an excellent recommendation. The duck and salmon that we had were cooked to perfection. The service was quick and efficient and the wine list comprehensive. The maple cheesecake was excellent. I really felt as if we were eating 'local'."

  • "I was visiting Boston with a large group. Henrietta's Table was a good choice for a large group. We could walk there, they had tables big enough for 8 people and the menu included a couple of vegetarian entrees in addition to the traditional Boston fare. We were immediately seated at our reservation time but took a while to be served. The food was very good Boston Fare. I will go here again."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "We were seated late for our reservation. Service was poor throughout the brunch. The food selection was limited for a buffet and the Eggs Benedict was overcooked. There are definitely better brunches is Boston."

  • "I have been for both dinner and brunch and brunch is a little creative in my opinion. Drinks are always good at anytime."

  • "Menu quite limited for dinner and food was mediocre. There are much better restaurants nearby."

  • "I love eating at Henrietta's Table for the fresh produce. The fresh schucked oysters were delicious and so fresh. I was disappointed at the over cooked poached eggs, but it is ok, as it might have cooked more under the lights of the buffet. Overall, the food was fair and the choices were fair."

  • "All six of us enjoyed our meals. We all had something different : even the picky eaters enjoyed . Salads, soups, coffee and deserts were awesome."

  • "I have been to Henrietta's Table almost every time I have made a trip to the Boston/Cambridge area. The food has been outstanding on every one of those occasions. The service needs to live up to the high standard of the food. While our waiter was pleasant and courteous, he visited the table twice: to take our order and to give us the check. Our food, water, and drinks were taken care of by some one else. Our waiter was also hard to flag down when we wanted our check. He was either talking to colleagues near the waiter station or back in the kitchen. However, my experience here was a nice one. If I am ever in town again, I will try to make a visit the good here is just so good!"

  • "Except for heavy security, which delayed entry, due to President Obama's visit to the Charles Hotel, every thing else at Henrietta's Table was fine. Excellent food and service, expedited so we could make a 7:30 curtain."
