Best Restaurants in Harvard Square
Comfortable atmosphere, delicious
food and friendly service! Best bread pudding we've ever had!!! Would recommend highly."

6 of us went for celebratory meal-
prime rib- fatty slab of chewy cold meat- with mashed potatoes mixed with horrible cheese- all for almost $30! duck was better- salmon OK- overpriced for the food- the ambience is nice- service very good"
Dined on 7/26/2014
Outstanding local sources
explained, like the local cheese menu and beer menu, making every delicious bite more special. Savory and delicious, exceptionally well prepared and inventive! Wait staff welcoming, knowledgeable & efficient!"
Dined on 7/25/2014
loved coming here--friendly,
helpful staff--awareness of theater time for dinner also loved at another time after event dining"
Dined on 7/25/2014
Food mediocre to poor. Service
less than attentive. A disappointment, considering how it's lauded by frommer's and overrated by Zagat's."

We often stop at Henrietta's Table
when going to a Regattabar performance, and this was one of those occasions. Nick, our server, was superb - professional, fun, knowledgeable about the menu, attentive to getting us out in time for the performance. And he remembered to give us the 10% discount that applies to Regattabar customers. The Yankee Pot Roast, which some of our party had, was superb. The Halibut, which I had, was quite good but not the best I've had."

My wife got the lamb shank & I
went with the pork chops. The small portion size of her dish surprised my wife though the pork chops were a decent size. I found the pork chops & the sauce to be under-salted. Halfway through my dish, I liberally sprinkled salt & it helped the flavor of the dish by a few notches. Also even though the pork chops had been brined overnight, as I was working my way through the pork chops, I did not find any flavors to have seeped through the chops themselves. We also had a pitcher of Sangria. It was very disappointing. The sangria felt watery and there were no other fruits besides some slices of strawberry in it. Overall impression: Not great. Pluses: fresh food & nice ambiance; Cons: Taste - very underwhelming."

great food from organic sources,
interesting combinations. The tartar sauce with the crab cakes was outstanding."

Hadn't been to Henrietta's for
brunch in a number of years, wasn't overly impressed this time. For starters, the hostess didn't seem like she wanted to be there- definitely needs attitude adjustment for that job. I really looked forward to the oysters but they were just not that good - small and not that flavorful. Don't know if it's the batch they got or what, but they were just OK. The waffles were very good - I thought the fruit selection could have been much better, but then when I later went to the dessert table, there was all the fruit I wish I'd seen earlier near the main buffet. Service was very good, no complaints with our waiter, he was great. For the price, you kind of expect things to be top notch in all departments."

6 of us got together for a
Saturday brunch. To be fair It was the end of the branch shift, so staff was hot and tired. We sat outside, chairs had no cushion, so girls in short shorts end up with a bruises on the upper portion of the hamstring, With the memorable pattern from the wire. Menu was too heavy on fruit/nuts bread items. It was a nice bread, way too much though. One of our guests had nut allergy, another hated raisins. Portions were rather too generous 5/6 slices of french toast with what looked like a pile of whip cream. Oysters were sad and dry in their shell. I suspect it was just the weather, but to be honest I would be rather hesitant to come again. Best item from our selections was a watermelon gazpacho."

Great food! Fresh, healthy...not
a lot of salt or preservatives. I started off with a crab and corn chowder which was very good and the waitress brought us warm, gluten-free bread because of my dining companion's allergy. I ordered the vegetarian chili with empanadas and it was delicious. There were a lot of fresh vegetables used and it was spicy, too, which I like. Good portion and it also comes with two empanadas on top that are filled with melted cheese. I loved the dough they used to make the empanadas...dense, chewy...great for mopping up the chili. A very hearty dinner!"

Went to Henrietta's last weekend
for Sunday brunch. Had been there a few years ago and it was even better this time. Fresh food, great selection for everyone. You don't leave "carb'ed out" like many hotel brunches. Highly recommend!"
Dined on 7/6/2014
Fresh flavors with every bite,
good size portions. Service very professional, no intrusive at all: they are around when you just need them! The only item that was terrible.... Their coffee! A very expensive expresso with a definitively burn taste! Next time I will stop next door for this!"
Dined on 7/5/2014
Sometimes the food here is
excellent, but I find that the quality has gone down,or maybe it was only this visit. Wild salmon did not taste like wild salmon. It was flavorless. I really like that the restaurant thinks about sustainability in regards to seafood, etc., and that there is a range of good wines including organic."
Dined on 7/4/2014
We have enjoyed Henrietta's Table
on numerous occasions but not this time. While the service was still very good, the noise level was overwhelming, in fact, intolerable for one of us who wears hearing aids. In addition, the food was quite disappointing. Good ingredients but flat tasting. The Sangria was much too sweet and the bread was hard."
Dined on 7/3/2014
Make sure you are hungry when you
go. There is so much food. I couldn't eat some of the hot stuff, since I had filled up on the cheese, vegetables and salads. Didn't even have enough room for dessert. Nice variety of hot and cold dishes."
Dined on 6/29/2014
The food was well prepared and
completely farm to fresh table. The food was delious and the servings were an excellent size. All veggies and fruits that made up the dishes were those in season which made the dishes super fresh. The waitor must of had a bad night because he was a bit condescending. He was never down right ride but never really wanted to go above and beyond. Example one of our friends is gluten free and happened to pick a dish that was not. He put the order in and then came back and said sorry your dish isn't gluten free. Then my husband asked if the chef could make a gluten free meal and he said that there are gluten free meals on the menu but that she just picked one that is not....um, shouldn't he help her know this."

My daughter lives in Cambridge and
I left the burbs to meet her at Henrietta's. We sat down and whoosh! a server was over to bring us water and ask what we'd like to drink. My daughter chose a cocktail which was luscious (Mom stole a sip) and the food was terrific. My daughter is a vegetarian and not only were there choices for her but also the produce is fresh and interesting. I had the cod cakes and a delicious salad. A good time was had by all."

Henrietta's is my family's go-to
special occassion restaurant in the area. We love everything on the menu, and my husband lives for the Anadama bread that they serve before the meal. Since I'm very picky about the lives of animals before they come to my table, Henrietta's is the only place in Harvard Square where I can really let my inner carnivore free, and it's amazing."
Dined on 6/25/2014
The restaurant has an excellent
brunch where you can find something for everyone!"
Dined on 6/22/2014
The ingredients are great, but the
flavor comes up short."

My lunch date was 45 minutes late,
and the staff at Henrietta's Table was extremely understanding and kind about this. I truly appreciated their kindness and understanding . Of course, it helped that the restaurant was not full! But still, great service from all parties. The food, as always, was fresh and delicious. ."
Dined on 6/16/2014
Exceptionally good service and
tasty, wholesome food served well within the restaurant's mission of using locally sourced product that is fresh and pristine. A very nice selection and very nicely presented."
Dined on 6/15/2014
You can't beat the brunch! So many
delicious items, so little stomach capacity!"
Dined on 6/15/2014
We enjoyed crab cakes and
swordfish entrees; both exceeded expectations. a Family member arranged for champagne for our occasion and it was delivered with panache!"
Dined on 6/14/2014
Largely a workhorse hotel
restaurant with aspirations. The menu is better written than executed. Indifferent service at dinner...wines by the glass were warm and filled to the rim of a too small glass"
Dined on 6/11/2014
We come here occasionally and have
always enjoyed it. The other night we brought my immediate family, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law for a celebratory dinner after my daughter's HS graduation. The setting is "refined farm table" with a cooking area open to the dining room, big wood slab table at the front holding fruits/veggies, and bead board within a coffered ceiling. All this off the lobby of a modern hotel. It offers a modest-sized menu across the range of high-quality, local, fresh, American cuisine. The items we ordered were quite tasty and artfully plated. The servers were formal in manner and casually dressed in uniform green polo shirts and light chinos. We were well taken care of."
Dined on 6/9/2014
Excellent food, helpful service,
cozy bar, we ate outside so noise wasn't an issue"
Dined on 6/8/2014
Coffee was consistently cold.
Kind of disappointing when you are paying that much for brunch."
Dined on 6/8/2014
Never disappointing. Unlike most
places, you can be seated before your whole party arrives if you have a reservation. Food is fantastic always"
Dined on 6/6/2014
Delicious farm-to-table food.
Everything we had was made with the tastiest ingredients. Not too much salad dressing, yummy crab cakes. Delicious chocolate dessert incorporating parsnips. Definitely go!"
Dined on 6/5/2014
Everything here -- food, service
-- was fine but unremarkable. I took advantage of the 3-course "yard-sale" pricing, which made sense for the duck entree I had selected, as it was one of the more expensive dishes on the menu. Some of the less pricey entrees make more sense to order a la carte, but be sure to order a side -- entrees come with none, and my companion's baked scrod looked awfully stark on her plate (the sprig of parsley notwithstanding). The yard-sale menus do include one side - good parsnips for me. My duck entree included a breast and a confit drumstick, and was just OK, as was the chowder I started with. My companion was more impressed with her scrod. A bread pudding sundae was tasty enough but a bit odd in texture."
Dined on 6/5/2014
The noise level was so
overwhelming at Henrietta's Table that is was difficult to converse with my friend. I would not recommend this restaurant for that reason. Otherwise, the food and service were fine."
Dined on 6/4/2014
Delish. Great menu and location.
A bit loud. We've been before. I think we'll go back"
Dined on 5/31/2014
Food was delicious, service was
attentive. Got us in and out in an hour at lunchtime, even on Harvard graduation day. "
Dined on 5/29/2014
The chef really knows what he's
doing. Highly recommended. "

Over the years, Henry's has been
our "go to" spot for family gatherings, graduation celebrations, Sunday Brunches and more. Healthy and delicious food options, friendly staff and reliable food quality. Only disappointment is that it can someimtes be just too loud at the indoor seating areas, but brunch outdoors this past weekend solved that challenge. "
Dined on 5/25/2014
I grow most of my own veggies and
fruit, so few restaurants meet my expectations. We had the Halibut Cheeks with Fresh-picked Mesclun Salad and local asparagus, and the Sirloin Steak salad. Superlative! All the breads were top quality - fresh, moist, with nice crust, satisfying bite and taste, good chilled butter."
Dined on 5/21/2014
Brunch was superb!! We will find
any reason to return to Henrietta's Table."
Dined on 5/18/2014
Reliable...good food...noise level
is too much...even at a corner table!"
