  • "This is a great place to eat. I recommend booking a seat ahead of time on the weekends for dinner. The food is always outstanding and the moonshine hits the spot. You can't go wrong when you choose Hendricks. Our server was spot on as always. Our drinks were full at all times even on a busy night. I would say to get extra salad dressing if you order a salad. Our one guest got a salad at a BBQ restaurant, she might be a little crazy. He shrimp and grits and nachos are a must. Be sure to stop and give them a go around. The food is cooked to order so make time for drinks and bring good company."

  • "We really enjoyed our first trip to Hendricks BBQ. A great building with lots of indoor and outdoor seating, close to Main Street, Saint Charles. Some of the food items were really excellent, and everything was good. Fried green tomatoes, Creamed Spinach, and the cheddar grits were all fantastic and not something frequenty found in STL. I had the brisket and pulled pork, they were both good and their BBQ sauces were all tasty. Plenty of parking in back. We had a great time there and will be back."

  • "Boy, were we disappointed in Hendricks BBQ. I made reservations ahead for the outdoor patio. When we arrived they put us inside near the front door and said if we wanted the patio it would be a long wait (very rude hostess). That should have been my clue to leave immediately. It was so noisy, we had to shout to carry on a conversation. We sat there forever before someone came to our table and said he wasn't our waiter, but he would take our order (because nobody was assigned to our table). We were dumbfounded. He brought the food and both of our orders were incorrect. The only thing they gave us for this terrible night was free dessert. Will not return ever. Would not recommend to anyone."

  • "Food waa fantastic as usual (best BBQ in STL), but the service was ridiculously slow. We were there for nearly three hours and didn't receive our food until about two hours in. At the end of the night, when there was barely anyone at the restaurant, the waiter was nowhere to be found while we waited and waited for our checks. I will still continue to come back because the food is great, and will hope that this was a fluke."

  • "The food was so good. The pulled pork was so tender. The spicy smoked sausage had a very nice heat to it. Our reservation was for 8 pm, so we missed having the ribs. They were sold out. We were so jealous of the other patrons eating them. :) Next time we will dine earlier. Our server Jason was friendly and very helpful. We would ask to sit in his section again."

  • "Our group of six were staying at the hotel next door to Hendrick's BBQ so we made a reservation there for dinner. We all loved the drink choices and starter menu. We were not rushed by our server and even though it was only her second day of work she was knowledgeable about the menu and went and found out answers to any of our drink questions quickly- she was a doll! We all were able to quickly decide on our favorite meat choice but we had lively conversation about the amazing side choices. We had to get some of each so we could share bites!"

  • "My family went here for lunch for the first time. I saw they had won awards in the St. Louis area, so I thought we would try it. The service was awful, they said they were understaffed that day. The waitress was rude and acted like she was being put out if you asked for something. Their BBQ was not very good at all, the seasonings covered up the taste of the BBQ ribs and brisket. Next time I'll go to Pappy's BBQ."

  • "The best BBQ I've tasted in a very long time.... The atmosphere and decor reminded me of Beale Street in Memphis! We went on a snowy night so it wasn't that busy, but the manager gave us a tour of the restaurant and the bar downstairs stairs has a great set up for live music. I can't wait to go back and here some of the local talent we have in the St. Louis area!"

  • "Disappointed in first dining experience at Hendricks BBQ. Fried green tomato appetizers were so tough it was hard to cut them with dinner knife. The brisket and pulled pork meat was good as well as the french fries and chicken strips. One person in our party ordered fried chicken waitress came back to say they were out of fried chicken but could have chicken strips. The ribs were far from tender, more on the tough chewy side. The potato salad and coleslaw had a funny tang to the taste. Could not put our finger on the taste but not pleasant. Have eaten greens many times but everyone that had the greens commented on the extreme bitter flavor. There were eight people in our party and everyone agreed the food was not good."

  • "This was our first meal here. We went with another couple and we are very happy we tried it. The atmosphere was charming, the waiter was efficient and entertaining. The food and drinks were all very good. After dinner we went downstairs to the bar which was also very quaint. The only problem was that there were not nearly enough chairs/tables. They had a band (which was very good by the way) but we had no place to sit. We stood and watched the band for nearly an hour and left before we were ready because we were tired of standing. All in all, we'd definitely go back."

  • "This is a true non-chain St. Charles gem. I always feel comfortable here whether seated a table with friends or at the bar. It doesn't hurt that I love their food, too. I'm a fan of the pulled-pork and creamed spinach. I just wish the creamed spinach was more consistent. The version where it's creamy and a little spicy is my favorite. I wasn't a fan of creamed spinach before I had Hendrick's version."

  • "We had a great time. The food was really tasty and presentation was excellent. We look forward to returning to have another great meal with friends and family. This atmosphere was enjoyable and so was the waiter , He was very attentive but not overwhelming. There were 6 people at our table and everyone had something different. We all agreed it was a place to come back to. They have entertainment but we were not able to stay. I hope to check that out next time. Also I made our reservations online on my cell phone while shopping nearby it was quick and easy."

  • "The venue is large enough for a large group but we were extremely disappointed. We had made a reservation and then called ahead regarding our large party. They reserved a section in the corner for us which we appreciated it. We made our reservation for a 3 PM in the afternoon in order to avoid taking up so many tables during a more busy time. When we got there, we found that there were three separate tables rather than one large table. They told us the tables were too heavy to move and that was the best they could do. The tables were not heavy so we moved them ourselves...4 times. Finally, after the fourth move, a staff member told us how to best fit the tables together. Why didn't they just do it that way in the first place?"

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was flavorful and tender. The ambiance was soulful and homey. I would definitely recommend this place for groups and special occasions!"

  • "I've been to Pappy's restaurant several times within the last few years, I was advised through general conversation that Hendricks had very good barbecue, better than Pappy's. My wife has never been to Pappy's so I thought Hendricks would be a good try for both of us. After bragging to my wife that Hendricks would have great barbecue since the owner is previously a co owner of Pappy's , we were extremely disappointed with the full rack baby back ribs that we ordered, they were overcooked, very dry and hard to get the meat off the bones. We probably won't be back and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We did not finish our meal and felt obligated to pay since we had ordered and had it served."
