A word from Hemingway Restaurant and Bar
Hemingway Restaurant & Bar is the newest hospitality innovation in Cedar Park. Hemingway Restaurant & Bar features a premium full bar, draft beers and a large wine selection as well as the very essence of regional Texas faire served in a uniquely central Texas décor. The design elements of the restaurant and private dining facilities blend harmoniously with the neighborhood architecture and lend themselves to inviting our guests to surrender themselves to the very best in Texas hospitality.
Hemingway Restaurant & Bar is a great neighborhood restaurant open for dinner 6 days a week. Saturday and Sunday, brunch is served from 9am until 4pm. Happy Hour is daily from 4pm to 7pm featuring half price appetizers. You can grab a great meal well into the evening during the week and on the weekends! And yes, we have TVs and the patio is dog friendly! While we're not a "sports bar", we do feature the NFL Sunday Ticket (ALL the football games!) and the NBA Pass.

If you live in Cedar Park and want a great dining experience, you don't need to drive to downtown Austin to find it. Hemingway Restaurant & Bar provides all you need; great food, great service and a nice atmosphere. This was my 5th visit and it was outstanding again. I had the Scallops with a Lemon Sauce and it was incredible. My wife had the Portobello Burger and loved it. I would recommend this to any local that wants a great dining experience...and if you live in Downtown Austin, you may want to make the drive to Cedar Park.

I have really liked Hemingway in the past. This was our 5th visit and the food has gone downhill. Maybe it's just better when the manager is around? Our party got the chicken melt which had great potential but had way too much butter on it and the cook was sparse with the chicken. Had the ribs and half the rack was fat; big disappointment. The fish sandwich was just ok but wouldn't order again. The biggest disappointment was the burger. Usually, they are good but that wasn't the case this time. The bun seemed different b/c it fell apart and the egg that was added wasn't cooked right. I might give them another try but this visit made me feel like I wasted my money.

With a dish like "Steak Stack ~ Chopped rib eye & tenderloin steak nestled in caramelized onion stacked with a sunny side up egg served with a potato pancake dressed with sour cream & green onion. " I expected chopped steak and instead got an overcooked hamburger patti with an egg on it. Not impressed. Service was great though and buildout is nice for a little strip center bar. At least WRT breakfast, you might be better just getting Mimosas or other drinks.

My wife and I we're looking forward to having a great dining experience close to home. We love to try new restaurants so we gave Hemingways a shot. We got there around 7 pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was almost empty. Not a good sign if you ask me. Beer did not come in a chilled glass, strike 1! We ordered an appetizer and two Country Fried Steaks, pretty simple, right? Well we never got our appetizer! Strike 2! The salads were nice and cold, but the country fried steaks well mine was edible but had no taste at all! My wife's was inedible! Her steak looked like it was made with shake and bake then overcooked!! TERRIBLE! To top it off her baked potato tasted weird like it was frozen too long! Not GOOD! She did not eat her dinner.

The waitstaff are great. The food was very good for the price. We could have done withou tthe waitstaff out on the patio smoking non stop. That wasn't very appealing to look at while we were having drinks before our dinner. With a little better ambiance and maybe some better marketing this could be a great place.

The place has hard surfaces everywhere and it was a bit loud. When the server arrived she had a hard time hearing our orders which we had to repeat several time. I orderded the grilled pork with steamed brocolli and rosemary potatoes. I thought the food was quite good. My wife had the scallops with squash and carrots. The carrots looked they came from a can and were boiled. She was not impressed. I forget what my son had. Based on my wife and son's comments I'm saying the food was OK. Service was spotty with us running out of water and waiting around 30 minutes before our server checked with us to let us know that drinks were late or the food was coming. The place was alright but we probably won't return

I was very disappointed. When I arrived, the hostess had her back to the front door so I stood there until I finally spoke up. The food was blah. We ordered the meatloaf, the fettuccine Alfredo and the chicken, avocado & mango tower. Each dish was disappointing. No flavor - very bland. The wait staff was nice, but seemed uncoordinated. We were asked by 3 different staff members if we were ready to order a drink before we even had a chance to get settled and open the drink menu. I live in Cedar Park and was hopeful that this place would become one of my favs, but not unless the food gets much better. I doubt I'll go back despite its convenient location.

Romantic birthday celebration.Would liked to have dined theVault but weren't advised of that option when I made reservation (I was a banker.) Waitstaff great ...attentive and cordial! Entrees very tasty, hot and good proportions but my mahi mahi a little on the pricey side for portion. Relatively quiet except for one loud cell phoneobvious business call. Could get noisy if they were busydue to the table arrangements..Desert was fabulous!Thought they should offer a b- day "something" but did not. I had noted celebration when makingreservation. Will certainly return..., maybe as a tradition for birthdays and annivers

We gave this new restaurant a try due to a Groupon. Hemingway was good. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. The atmosphere is nice. It's kinda of a fusion of sports bar meets Texas steakhouse. Not really what you expect from Open Table, but to each his own. The food: We prefer a thick/smaller steak to thin/flat served. But, the flavor was good. Rosemary New Potatoes were very good - crispy on the outside and well seasoned. The baby back ribs were good, not great. That could have been the rack because the sauce was fine. The service: great. Nice, responsive, and honest about the menu. Overall, this is a step-up option to a chain restaurant, but not for foodies (yet?). With some bar food it could be a sports bar option.

We enjoyed good food and lovely drinks. Bottled beer is quite cold and drafts are 20oz. Wine can be purchased by the bottle so you can take home leftovers. The manager greeted and engaged with our group and is a delight. We really liked the side room where we could control the lighting and volume of the Muzak/Sirius. Because the restaurant was slow (football, baseball, and a debate were on TV that night), our service was a little slow. The Open Mic guy was back and was not good by himself. They opened the garage doors so we could hear him, but didn't turn off the other music. Not only did all the sounds conflict, but it brought in all the humidity and made it too warm. We're evaluating the place for a weekly outing, so we're picky. ;)

Our knitting group was at Hemmingway's on a Monday evening. When we arrived at 7pm, our table for 8 was quickly assembled in accordance with our reservation. We had pretty good service until 9pm/10pm when each group left. The manager made a quick visit to our table to offer us a perk if we return. And, we decided to do that very thing. The live music that night was at a pretty good volume (We could talk, but I'd turn it down a notch since we were inside; it was probably too loud for outside dining). However, the music was not good. The guitar and muted trumpet were fine, but his singing was bad, and her attempts at harmony with him were deplorable. Their table of ~5 groupies was an obvious plant in an otherwise empty patio.

What a wonderful food find in Cedar Park. It is worth the drive to sample some of their unique menu items. Fabulous food! Once inside, you wouldn't know you were in a 'strip mall'. Very well done inside and out! The service was very good. Peggy was on the spot and we loved her input for selections (because there were so many choices)! We had a 14 oz ribeye and a rack of ribs. Very tasty! The appetizers were fabulous too, and I could see ordering them as a meal! There is a wide range of wine and prices for fellow wine lovers. The atmosphere has a new vibe and overhead doors that open to a patio with a waterfall/fireplace for cool Texas evening dining/socializing. I would go back if I get back to the area, and will look for a reason!

Unfortunately, we seemed to have been the victim of a mix up between order and delivery. Starter of crab cake arrived relatively timely and was good. It was downhill after that as a second crab cake starter showed up.. not ours. Salads didn't come until prompting 45 mins later.. main course equally slow and reordered. Have to give credit for being given a complimentary meal. Other tables seemed to have been handled much better.

The waitress was pleasant but service was hit and miss. There was a considerble wait for drinks. Some dinner salads arrived before the entree while others arrived later although the entire party was sharing the appetizers. Appetizers were minimal but there is a nice variety. I am in no hurry to return to this restaurant nor would I recommend it. I thought I would celebrate a birthday before I received the bill. Even though I used a Travelzoo voucher, I felt like it was not a good value. The retail value was completely overstated.

The shrimp diablo wrapped in bacon with serrano were excellent. The raspberry sauce was sweet and spicy. The creamy parmesan cracked pepper dressing on the house salad had too much garlic for my taste. The 8 oz tenderloin cooked med rare was a little tough to chew. The cut of meat should have been more tender. The baked potato seemed old ~ like it was from the previous day. It was grayish inside and strange texture. It was not like a freshly baked potato. The scallops were very good and the added grilled shrimp were excellent.

My wife liked her salmon, but my pork chop was not worth being one of the more expensive items on the menu -- it was over-cooked and the cherry topping did not improve the tasteless chop. The pecan squash sounded great, but it was dry -- they could have at least put some butter and brown sugar on top to make it look and taste better when microwaving it.
