The menu was limited, a couple of salads, a couple of sandwiches and their very rich chicken liver plate. They were not prepared for a holiday weekend lunch so service was slow and bordered on rude. If you want to go to Heirloom, go there for dinner."

  • "I took my girlfriend there for our anniversary and we were so impressed. The food was amazing. Hands down the best place we have ever eaten at. And I'm a bit of a foodie. The atmosphere was spot on for a romantic dinner for two. The wine list fit us to a "T". I would definitely recommend this place for anyone that has a special occasion to celebrate."

  • "We had a great anniversary meal at Heirloom. Beth was our waiter and she was great! so knowledgeable about everything, including the wine - they have a 'quirky' list, but she was able to recommend a really good pinot noir that we otherwise would've missed (unfortunately, it was also $80! but we went along and liked it a lot). I had the red snapper special, which was INCREDIBLE. The mix of flavors really worked. Husband had the pork tenderloin from the menu. Fried cornbread, Weisenberger grits, and a pork-flavored sauce were just fabulous. Caesar salad, which we split, was great too, with white anchovies. Will definitely return!"

The "Mary Burger" was the best hamburger I have ever had and my friends had the crab cake and said it was delicious. Will definitely return whenever we are in Midway."

Highly recommend for locals and tourists in the Lexington area. On my recent visit to Heirloom, there was a larger group dining who drove from Louisville. I understand - it is worth the drive. "

  • "The Heirloom serves exquisite food in a small, intimate dining room. Truly every dish was unique and delicious. The thought of the Mache salad is still making my mouth water. The chicken livers (yes, chicken livers!!) are not to be missed. The menu is gourmet, yet approachable. We shamelessly cleaned our plates, sopping up the last bit of sauce with the fabulous bread! Worth the drive!"

  • "We arrived to find that the hostess had not checked Open Table reservations and had not held a table for us. We were graciously given complimentary drinks while waiting for a table to open. When we were delayed further, they threw in dessert. The food was wonderful, the wine list is full of good values, the restaurant seemed to be full of long time patrons. The owner wandered from table to table telling stories and checking on things. "

  • "As someone who is picky about a great true dining experience, Heirloom hit it out of the park in every way. From the soft pretzel bread basket to enticements to entrees and desserts (OH THE DESSERTS!!), everything was beautifully crafted and executed deliciously. Our waitress was just attentive enough without intruding at all and graciously accommodating about ingredient substitutions. It's pricy but worth every penny. The portions are thought out so you can finish your meal without bursting the top button on your pants. I am currently racking my brain for more occasions to come back to Heirloom. Spring is a holiday, right? Surely we need to celebrate the dog's birthday, no? Will be going back again and again so long as they keep it up :)"

  • "I took my mom there for a borthday lunch, we wanted to go somewhere out of the city and I had heard great things about Heirloom and I definitey wasn't disappointed. We had the crab cake sandwich which was wonderful and the chicken livers which was even more amazing! They brought out a special birthday surprise for my mom which was a molten cake(cooked to order) with homemade strawberry ice cream. The service was great and the atmosphere was equally as nice. A wonderful little place in the middle of horse country with a fabulous menu and excellent service, what more could you ask for!"

  • "We started with the Spinach Salad which was excellent, and the Caesar Salad which had Silver Anchovies which make it the real Caesar Salad. Our Main courses were the Crab cake which were very large and without a lot of filler. Our other main course was the Duck Breast, which is sort of rare in Central Kentucky, but it is a favorite of mine and I have had all over the US and it was one of the best I have ever had. The dessert was an apple crisp with vanilla Ice cream, which was good."

  • "The best fine dining experience I've had in the Lexington area. (Recently relocated from LA, and having lived in NY, Paris, Munich and Cannes ... I am somewhat critical when it comes to eating out.) Everyone in my dinner party enjoyed their meal ... and we shared the duck breast, beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin and lamb. All entrees were cooked to perfection. A terrific, gastro delight!"

  • "We went on recommendation from the Inn we were staying in. It surpassed our expectations. It is a gem in a small town. We had a hard time choosing from all the wonderful dishes so we decided to try one choice the first night and went back the next night to try something else. First night I had the monkfish which was lick the plate clean with the spinach salad. Hubby had the special scallops and Caesar salad. Next night I had short ribs and Caesar and hubby beef tenderloin and Caesar. Wednesday night was half price bottle of wine night and what we did not finish we brought back with us. Highly recommend this lovely place. Amy and Amelia and the wine gal were fantastic. Five star service and food. We look forward to going back."

  • "Our group of four all agreed that this was the best restaurant food any of us have found in a very long time. We had ahi tuna, steak, pork loin and monkfish. Each of us sampled the others and all agreed that each one was perfect. The service was fun, punctual and also perfect. I admit that I can usually find at least one critique, but honestly I could not this night. We even sent a round of refreshments to the kitchen as a thank you. I'll be going on a regular basis."
