  • "Lovely edgy New York style high end restaurant located in beautiful Midway. This is one of my favorite places. The food is exceptional along with the service and atmosphere. Highly recommend to those looking for fine preparation of food or want a special place to enjoy conversation and dinner with a date or friends."

  • "I took my mom there for a borthday lunch, we wanted to go somewhere out of the city and I had heard great things about Heirloom and I definitey wasn't disappointed. We had the crab cake sandwich which was wonderful and the chicken livers which was even more amazing! They brought out a special birthday surprise for my mom which was a molten cake(cooked to order) with homemade strawberry ice cream. The service was great and the atmosphere was equally as nice. A wonderful little place in the middle of horse country with a fabulous menu and excellent service, what more could you ask for!"

  • "There are several excellent dining options in Midway, KY and Heirloom is at the top of the list."

  • "We started with the Spinach Salad which was excellent, and the Caesar Salad which had Silver Anchovies which make it the real Caesar Salad. Our Main courses were the Crab cake which were very large and without a lot of filler. Our other main course was the Duck Breast, which is sort of rare in Central Kentucky, but it is a favorite of mine and I have had all over the US and it was one of the best I have ever had. The dessert was an apple crisp with vanilla Ice cream, which was good."

  • "After a great day at the track we were recommended by a local to visit Heirloom. What a Gem! From the ambiance, the wine list to the wonderful food and service it was a homerun all the way around. We definitely return."

  • "The best fine dining experience I've had in the Lexington area. (Recently relocated from LA, and having lived in NY, Paris, Munich and Cannes ... I am somewhat critical when it comes to eating out.) Everyone in my dinner party enjoyed their meal ... and we shared the duck breast, beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin and lamb. All entrees were cooked to perfection. A terrific, gastro delight!"

  • "When we are in the Lexington area, we make the Heirloom Restaurant a destination. The food, in our experiences, has been exceptional. We look forward to dining there again."

  • "We've been to Heirloom several times, and the meals the four of us had this visit were the best yet. Consistently creative, well-prepard, and delicious. Heirloom keeps getting better!"

  • "Menu was different than what was posted on website, very hip and current food descriptions and may not sound tremendously appetizing at first read but the flavor profiles and combinations were simply outstanding. Best spinach salad I've ever had and the beef tenderloin was perfection. Will become a favorite."

  • "The four of us all had different meals....I think my chicken livers with ravioli was the BEST! Although my husband loved his open face meat loaf sandwich, and my friend's shrimp and grits looked yummy!!! The carmel icecream sandwich was to die for! Can't wait to come back and try something different!"

  • "New spring menu is great. Both the fig and cauliflower salad were delicious. Terrific textures and flavors! The beef tenderloin entree and the pork loin entree were hits as well. Tender and succulent. Very enjoyable."

  • "They served the best Pork Tenderloin I have ever had. I plan to return and try other dishes but I hope they never remove the Pork Tenderloin from the menue. I will order it again."

  • "Friend tried the parsnip soup, thought it was quiet refreshing. Serving size is very adequate. Server was knowledgeable and helpful. Not our first visit here, that's why we came back. Will be back again."

  • "We went on recommendation from the Inn we were staying in. It surpassed our expectations. It is a gem in a small town. We had a hard time choosing from all the wonderful dishes so we decided to try one choice the first night and went back the next night to try something else. First night I had the monkfish which was lick the plate clean with the spinach salad. Hubby had the special scallops and Caesar salad. Next night I had short ribs and Caesar and hubby beef tenderloin and Caesar. Wednesday night was half price bottle of wine night and what we did not finish we brought back with us. Highly recommend this lovely place. Amy and Amelia and the wine gal were fantastic. Five star service and food. We look forward to going back."

  • "Our group of four all agreed that this was the best restaurant food any of us have found in a very long time. We had ahi tuna, steak, pork loin and monkfish. Each of us sampled the others and all agreed that each one was perfect. The service was fun, punctual and also perfect. I admit that I can usually find at least one critique, but honestly I could not this night. We even sent a round of refreshments to the kitchen as a thank you. I'll be going on a regular basis."

  • "I live in Lexington and Heirloom is definitely worth the drive over to Midway. The food is the best in this area and the service is just right. The cost is also most reasonable."

  • "Food was simple yet very well prepared both in flavor and presentation Can very well compete with the best restaurants in Louisville and definitely way above any restaurant in Lexington"

  • "The food was excellent and the service was nicely attentive. The noise level of patrons voices was high. Decor was comfortable and interesting."

  • "My husband and I went to Heirloom for an intimate dinner. The restaurant is cozy. But, because they put two 6 person tables right in the middle, the noise level became deafening & I had to lean across the table to hear. I knew the prices would be fairly high, but $15 for a fair hamburger & fries I could get anywhere was a bit much. The pork tenderloin was very good, but also extremely pricey for the portion. Very tender & flavorful pork. The cornbread was perfectly sweet and the grits, as Weisenberger grits often are, were creamy & delicious. But, the price was just too much for what was served & the atmosphere. With the available options for dining in the Lexington & surrounding area, we probably won't return to Heirloom."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed another great dinner at Heirloom. The soup of the day was pureed turnip and was delicious. Everything else from the chicken liver appetizer to the two entrees (short ribs and red snapper) to the ice cream dessert were perfect. The red snapper was absolutely the best snapper I've had (counting three continents and over a dozen high-end restaurants). Our waiter was attentive and very pleasant. Definitely will return."

  • "this was dinner for two couples. The restaurant was 100% occupied, and was for all evening - making it a little noisy. There was a restricted menu (Valentine's Day), but all choices were outstanding, exceptional. Absolutely could not have been a better dinner. Our server was Bo - very pleasant, very good. Bo was enjoyable to chat with, even though he was very busy. Midway, KY may be a small town, but Heirloom is a very special restaurant. We've been a number of times, and the food and service are always exemplary."

  • "A wonderful meal in the heart of the Kentucky Bluegrass with warm, modern atmosphere on a frigid night. The food is spectacular the warm spinach salad and beet salad were delightfully delicious. The crab cake was the best I've had so far inland and the sauce is fantastic! The entree of beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection and the snapper was scrumptious. WONDERFUL GEM IN MIDWAY!! Definitely worth the visit en route to Lexington, Louisville, or MIDWAY!! Additionally the owner and head chef Mr Mark Wombles personally responded to an email inquiry. Top notch gentleman."

  • "We originally found this restaurant while heading west to Louisville on I-64 for the Derby several years ago. We used OpenTable then to find it. What a find! Great food, service and ambiance. For this visit we brought another couple and we all had different entrees, appetizers, salads, etc. and they were all superb! If you are in the Lexington area, this is a great choice, highly recommended."

  • "I stumbled across this gem a few years ago while on a drive through the Bluegrass horse country. Tiny Midway is a charming town, but I didn't expect such fine food! My most recent trip for lunch this week found it to be even better than I remembered. The menu is fairly small, but very appealing--I had a difficult narrowing my choices. In the end, I had the very tasty shrimp and grits, made with an excellent tomato-based sauce. The creamy parsnip soup was exquisite, but most amazing was the popcorn ice cream--a creation that must be tried to believe! Their young chef (at 23) is doing superb work! Great wine list, as well. (They had one of my favorites, a Hendry cabernet, an uncommon but wonderful wine.) Well worth the drive."

  • "The menu has a nice variety for all tastes if a bit overdone. The 3 dishes we shared were overly rich for the delicate flavors of the seasonal foods. Too much sauce; too much goat cheese; too much oil. Our server seemed indifferent to our needs and 3 courses were delivered at once, making it a challenge to enjoy each dish while hot. Overall I would try it again as the location makes for a fun outing"
