Our group of 4 enjoyed eating in the patio of this neighborhood gem. The food; two special pasta dishes, a plate of Mussels and the pork chop was enjoyed by all. The pasta dish was homemade pasta with Chicken and veg without cream, delicious. The Mussels were fresh and tender and the broth begged for more. The Pork Chop, with honey glaze delighted.

I have sampled all of the menu items at least once and have never been disappointed. One MUST visit on a Thursday night to hear Roman Palacio and Tommy Gannon perform. Always a FANTASTIC treat! The owner Sammy is always welcoming and gracious and the staff friendly and efficient.

Service was slow--it took 40 minutes to get our meal and it was overcooked and tasteless.

Hoping to discover a new gem during San Diego Restaurant Week, we found HEAT Bar & Kitchen online. It was AMAZING! Each dish we ordered was incredible, the presentation SUPERB, and the service from the staff could not have been better. You can wine and dine indoors or out. The inside decor is warm and vibrant. (That sounds like an oxymoron, but they pull it off.) You can be seated at a table out in front or dine on the side patio, as we did. Simply but tastefully decorated, it was an extremely pleasant milieu for enjoying fine San Diego weather. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant; we found our gem!

We went to Heat during San Diego Rest. Week. It was not busy when we got there. We started out by ordering a bottle of wine they were featuring that evening, "Crossings". The waiter returned to the table to tell us they were chilling the wine and it would be a few minutes. It was at least 15 minutes before we were served the wine. We ordered our food by the helpful waiter, our first course came out was very good and fresh. When we got our entree, the 2 people that ordered the short ribs with mashed potatoes, the food was just warm. The other two plates food that came to the table were hot. We I thought it was good but I wouldn't run back out this restaurant any time soon.

Heat is a good but not great spot for brunch. What keeps me coming back to Heat is the $10 bottomless mimosas where they leave bottles of champagne on the table. The food is pretty good and there's never a long wait for a table. The drawbacks are a limited menu and poor parking options.

The pasta was excellent, not over done with jumbo scrimp! The price for two was hardly a budget buster! I can't say enough about the service. Street parking was not a problem.
