HearthOh the wine list ...Hearth did not disappoint. We enjoyed the chefs tasting menu and had a wonderful to e reviewing and then selecting our wine choice. Partner Paul Grieco has an inspired list and a staff that really loves and cares about wine6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing tasting menu and wine list.Do the tasting menu! Just do it. You won't be disappointed, or leave hungry, or leave like you've paid for more than you rec'd. Everything was delicious and it forced us to try things we wouldn't have usually (and love them). Our server was excellent, well versed on the wine list and recommended a unique and enjoyable wine for our dinner. The pre-dinner martini at the bar was excellent- exactly what I wanted and didn't even know it created on a whim by the bartender. Overall, it was a great dining experience in NYC.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMmy fave restaurant in NYCI have been to Hearth 3 times in the last year, and each time it is a wonderful experience. The food is delicious without being overbearing, the servers are all super friendly and helpful, and the ambience is fun with the tables pleasantly arranged. I recommend this place for dinner with friends that don't mind spending a bit more, dinner with parents visiting from out of town, or a special occasion. Thank you, Hearth, for another relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything is perfectFrom the moment we walked in, until the moment we left, everything was perfect. We had theater tickets after dinner, the staff seamlessly coordinated our 7 course meal to be right on time, but not at all rushed. The good was amazing, the lamb rib blew my mind, not to be missed! The staff was warm, welcoming, and overall amazing. For all this greatness, the price was very reasonable, this is a go-to for a special night, an impressive date, or to take your parents... Amazing.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe chef's "table" is suchThe chef's "table" is such a treat. Great service from the bar to the table, wonderful food and the best gnocchi in the world.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI sat at the kitchen counter,I sat at the kitchen counter, and had the tasting menu, which is a different experience than what most people have at Hearth, but however particular my experience was, I loved it. I felt the shades of the heat and sensed some of the pressure of the kitchen, and was all the happier for it. The food seemed to be something happily shared with me by my servers and the kitchen. That's a rare thing, and really special.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMCharcuterie platter...Yes, the charcuterie platter for 2 was amazing...make sure you also order the foie gras terrine with it. The other amazing staple here is the Veal Ricotta Meatballs. We also had the grilled quail as an appetizer and it was oh so tender. I highly recommend this restaurant, it's not hard to get in and the food is definitely top quality.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorial Weekend DinnerThis was my 6th time dining at Hearth and it has become my new favorite restaurant in the city. The food is always inspired and executed brilliantly. The service is even better. I am a business owner and I do not know how they do it so well.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat New Find for usSo we travel to NYC on occasion and its always refreshing to find a great new place, like Hearth..... So we would highly recommend Hearth, great and interesting food, along with excellent service. It's not really a kids place, but we had our with us on this trip, and again the staff there took great care of them too.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA little slow between coursesCasual yet elegant.Rustic but refined. The food was excellent. We shared the Cote deBoeuf. The server was great. But for some reason, there was an almost uncomfortable amount of time between courses. Maybe Marco needs a bigger kitchen(?) Still our favorite spot in the East Village. I'll certainly go back again, but next time I'll ask to sit at the Chef's table!
We always stop in at Terroir, their wine bar around the corner, to start the evening. We tried two wines form Chateau Musar that were both excellent values. I never had Lebanese wine before, but I'm a fan now.
It might sound corny, but, we like to check out the Food Network chef's places wherever we go. We'll definitely keep this restaurant in our rotation! ;)5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing lambThe food was really well thought out and amazingly delicious. Was seated in the bar area which had music that wasn't really good for dining and a little loud. The waiter was a bit surly and rushed at first but he recommended a really good wine so I forgive him.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLovelyI recommend the quail, foie and crudo appetizers. A little disappointed with entree options overall. I ordered the sea bass dish and it just wasnt anything great. Dessert is a must have. Got both chocolate cake and carrot cake sundae. AMAZING! Service is friendly and I got to meet Cef Canora! Overall good dining experience.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best dining experiences!Went to hearth to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Sat at "the pass". It was terrific. The food was amazing. The service was awesome. 4 seats overlooking the kitchen. We were able to chat with the friendly chefs and watch them prepare the delicious food. We can't wait to go back and order the other fabulous creations we didn't order. It is the perfect restaurant. Just wish it was in fla.
FYI. The salad was huge. The pasta delish and my husband said the salmon was the best he ever had.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent restaurant. FoodExcellent restaurant. Food is first rate. Service is informal, but friendly and knowledgeable. Wine list and knowledge of wine is first rate. Very good selection of beer. A wonderful place for friends to meet, talk, drink, and eat.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoyed the vibeI really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. The server was very helpful and convincing with helping me with my choice selections for dinner. I was not disappointed. Hearth's Charcuterie offering was very unique, I've never seen cured duck on the board before. For the main dish, you'll be impressed with the black sea bass bathed in smoked bacon miso broth.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible Fresh And Clean EatingEverything we ate from the complimentary potato leak soup to the fresh fava bean salad to the Colorada Lamb was worth the visit. Next time I'm getting the tasters menu.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience here. TheGreat experience here. The chef and staff were very accomodating, preparing the chef's tasting menu for half vegetarian/half omnivores. We were celebrating a wedding, and they were very nice, giving us complimentary champagne. All in all a great experience. It is pricey, but perhaps earns what it charges.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely place in the East VillageLovely place in the East Village that takes food seriously. Polite staff that's well educated in the day's menu. Nice wine list (lots of rieslings currently on the list). Flattering soft lighting. Terrific background music (hits from the '70s and '80s). All around, a casually elegant experience.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal we have had in 2Best meal we have had in 2 years. The service is friendly, but a little overly theatrical and performative for our taste. Great place to take visitors from out of town.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and reallyOutstanding food and really unusual wine selection reasonably priced.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMthe wait staff was very attentivethe wait staff was very attentive - my friend sent her salad back twice - first because it was too salty, and second, because it was not nicely presented. They were quite patient and accommodating. The food was excellent - fresh, well seasoned. Pretty restaurant.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday night, early, groupSunday night, early, group of seven. Notable food which stands up to NYC high level of competition. Service friendly, energetic but not intrusive. Perfect for foodies, locavores and good wine list. Can get seats at the kitchen counter if you want to see the chefs hustling. I have added Hearth to my list of NYC favorites.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend an I enjoyed a veryMy friend an I enjoyed a very good dinner. The food was delicious and our waitress Laura was warm and friendly.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a superb meal at HearthWe had a superb meal at Hearth on Saturday. We were seated near the open kitchen so we were able to watch the chef and his team in action. All four of us had the tasting menu. The portions were responsibly sized, the plates well thought out and beautifully presented. The wine list is truly amazing (many unique bottles) and the staff are conversant in the huge list. Service is attentive and pleasant. We will definitely go back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA memorable eveningWe were looking for a special dining experience to celebrate our daughter's engagement and we were not disappointed with our evening at Hearth. Our waiter, Jefferson, was knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive to detail. He brought us a complementary glass of sparkling chardonnay after learning of the reason for our dining. We had the prixe fix menu and each item tasted as good as it looked. Can't wait until we're back in NYC to return.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding. ServiceFood was outstanding. Service was great and they observed the request I made for the host to greet my daughter in honor of her birthday. One of the guests, and I, shared the fish and my daugher loved the smoked chicken breast. Desserts of the doughnuts and the banana with chocolate ice cream were great choices as well. This was our third visit and Hearth has never disappointed us.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat addition to the HearthGreat addition to the Hearth menu - Brunch was creative and delicious. Will certainly be a hit. All around great experience!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food & wine equal a good timeOur party of five decided to utilize the “Put Yourself in Our Hands” option of the menu and enjoyed the seven course tour. It is a wonderful way to taste many of the menu options as well as some choices from the chef. This restaurant has an excellent wine list and a good time was had by all.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful, inspired food andWonderful, inspired food and always warm, professional service keep me returning to Hearth.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is delicious! We had theIt is delicious! We had the chef selection tasting menu with pairings from the bar. Every dish/drink was a surprise, and what was extra unique...the chef selection changes from table to table..whatever he/she feels like! Perfect proportions with a variety of craft drinks from the bar...sherry, wine, beer, vodka soda, etc. While you might think that the mix would make your stomach turn, it's enough to taste and bring out flavors in your dish. We were not hungry or thirsty!! The wait staff works as a single unit, everyone helping at every table. Small candles on every table, with a mix of brick, wood, warm red ceilings, it's a romantic , relaxing environment!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMMy third visit to Hearth,My third visit to Hearth, and again it did not disappoint. Tried the tasting menu for the first time, in an effort to be a bit adventurous. The tasting was very well arranged, each plate was perfectly sized, and the flavors were amazing. Servers here all seem top notch, and have recommended some excellent wines from their eclectic and well priced list.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAppetizers and desserts wereAppetizers and desserts were notable. I recommend the banana tatin; our party of four each ordered desserts and this was the first to disappear. The veal ricotta meatballs were delicious. The fish dishes, both the cod and salmon were elegant and beautifully executed. The sommelier was eager to suggest wines fit to each of our preferred flavor profiles. I enjoyed my wine almost as much as meal. I would love to come back for chefs table.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMYou must eat at Hearth!Hearth is one of the best restaurants I've experienced in New York City. Chef Marco Canora serves daily fresh food prepared masterfully. You must eat at Hearth.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLife Changing Beef for TwoIt was our first visit to Hearth and I would rate it in the top three meals of my life. We split the aged beef for two with bone marrow and fingerling potatoes. It is life changing. Don't forget the sauce on the side - served in a tiny copper pot. I jumped right to the entree because it was center stage but we started with the snails and the sweet breads. Both delicious but the sweet breads were better. Our waitress was attentive, engaging and friendly. They even recommended a great place for after dinner drinks afterwards. We finished with the carrot cake sundae. Yum. The wine list is pricey and totally overwhelming - and mostly french - but their wine manager was incredibly knowledgable and helpful. I heart you Hearth.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA treasure in the neighborhood.A treasure in the neighborhood. Pricey and worth it.

Fresh, tasty locally sourced ingredients nicely prepared. All food was very good and nicely presented, however quite sweet, we missed some contrasts, ie sour vs sweet, crunchy vs soft etc... Relaxed ambiance makes you feel comfortable.
Excellent, knowledgeable service, quite enthusiastic and with good advice.12/7/2012 12:00:00 AM
