A word from Hearth
As you enter HEARTH the senses kick in. Beautiful aromas come from the food that emerges out of the fire in front of you: steaks and pork chops, ribs and chicken, local oysters and salmon, and of course great pizza, all of it kissed by the fire in the wood oven.

HEARTH is a wonderful dining experience, surrounded by fine craftsmanship with service that is attentive and friendly. Our menu provides options for dining ranging from small plates during HEARTH Hour (4pm-6pm) to entrees including daily specials such as Tourenados of Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon and fresh sage with chimichurri sauce, roasted vegetables and potatoes. Vegetarian and gluten free entrees are available. There is also a great selection of local wines and beers as well as a full bar.

HEARTH features outdoor dining during the summer months and underground parking during the rainy months.

It’s a great place to come with friends and family and enjoy another HEARTH warming experience.

Ran across the Hearth on the Internet while looking for a place to eat in Washougal. My husband and I thought we'd give it a try. I had the mushroom garlic pizza, my husband the scallops. The ambience, food and service was excellent - the place was busy but we never felt like we were rushed. We will definitely be back.

We had a good table by the window. The service was very good. We asked for some time to relax and take our time ordering, our server took the right amount of time being sure not to rush us. The food is cooked in a wood fired oven. Not just the pizza's, all of the food. All of our dishes came out great. The Thai chicken pizza is something special.

The service was extremely slow, right from the beginning. Our first drinks took 20 minutes or longer to be delivered after waiting 10 -15 minutes for our order to be taken. Bar service continued to be slow all evening. Most of the food we ordered was very good except for the pizza which has declined in flavor and quality. However our food service was equally as slow as the bar service had been. And to top off the evening, our friends ordered an extra side dish - for which they paid extra - and it was delivered after we had all finished eating. Unfortunately this is the second time in recent weeks that we have experienced poor service so we will not be returning in the future.

This is a very nice spot with a great concept--everything prepared in the wood-fired oven. We were a group of four, and we all were very pleased with our meals. The house made ice-cream was outstanding!! Our server was very friendly, but the service was a bit disorganized, especially for a slow weeknight.

You can't go wrong at The Hearth Everything is wonderful including the service. But the ribs are not just the best ribs I've ever had..... maybe the best MEAL I've ever had. But if you're not into ribs, there are lots of other great choices. I don't normally order or recommend dessert, but I make exceptions to that rule at The Hearth. Be sure to at least ask about their dessert selection!

What a fantastic restaurant. The food is unique and absolutely delicious. Wood fired brussel sprouts? AMAZING, and I don't like brussel sprouts. Imagine what they can do with that oven for food that you really do like! The other highlight was the bacon wrapped dates. Go. Here. Now.

My daughter called and asked if I had heard of the Hearth in Washougal! That blew me away that folks in the small town of Sulphur, LA were discussing a place I had never heard of 6 miles down the road! So 2 friends & I went last night and had a great time with the help of Will the waiter! The pizza was outstanding as we loved the thin wood-fired crust. TODAY I found that one of my friends goes there often as The Hearth has the best Happy Hour in the entire area! I had forgotten my cell phone & had been asked to send a photo of us dining there so my daughter could show it to the Hospital Board member in Sulphur who recommended the restaurant so now we GET TO make another reservation and I will try to remember the phone!

Although I live in Vancouver, I make the trek to Washougal solely to visit The Hearth. I've always had delicious food and drinks and excellent service. The decor is eclectic and cozy and they have a very nice patio. There is quite a varied menu for a wood fired oven restaurant and the servings are quite large. Also, there is an underground parking garage and plentiful street parking. I have taken groups here a number of times and everyone has left impressed.

The restaurant is decorated nicely; the service is efficient and friendly; the food is delicious. The one thing that would make this place perfect is if it had a view of the river. Window seats look out onto a concrete patio, and the patio is street-side. But the food is wonderful so I would return.

We dined on Mother's Day and the food and ambience were excellent. The service was very good and the atmosphere is very friendly. The restaurant is billed as wood-fired pizza. The artisan pizzas are excellent and reasonably priced for an upscale restaurant. Other specialties which are all cooked in the wood-fired oven are excellent also, but pretty pricey. Overall it is nice for a special evening, but expensive for casual dining on a regular basis.

The artfully designed space is relaxing and comfortable. Fresh ingredients enhance the flavors of each dish. The roasted asparagus and salmon were excellent, as was the pasta dish with prawns & wood fired pizza. The Southern fried chicken was delicious, although I had to watch out for unexpected small bits of bone. Perhaps it was cut with a saw instead of individually disjointed with a knife. The strawberry ice cream was a delight to the end of a great meal, served with a chocolate cookie. Service was attentive without being obtrusive.

We tried the salmon crostini and bbq ribs off the happy hour menu. The bbq ribs although tender were dry and the crostini bland. We ordered two pizzas (sausage and a bacon w/pesto) along with the pasta dish (pesto with seafood). The pizza crust on both pizzas was very good. Both pizzas had very little toppings but the flavor on the bacon w/pesto was really good. The flavor of the sausage pizza although okay reminded me of something from the supermarket. It could have been the small pieces of sausage. The pasta dish was a disappointment. The seafood was dry and the pasta overcooked and lacking in flavor. That being said... the waitress was very nice and we will give the Hearth another try since it could have been an off night.

Our date night was outstanding! The restaurant was on point, the live music was perfect and the evening was amazing. Food hit the mark and lucky us we do not need to drive to Portland in order to get a high quality meal and/or a night out experience. We go out a lot (as in too much) and we agreed that this was one of our favorite dining experiences in many years! Job well done by everyone on this special evening!

We usually head to Portland for nicer dinner options but Hearth is just as nice and close to home. Food was amazing! We both cleaned our plates, food was too good to leave any and so was dessert! I suspect this place would have earned 4 if not 5 stars had the live music not been so bad. The food was fantastic, especially when you consider where it is located. Sadly, the live music was too loud for the restaurant, the singing was pitchy and I don't appreciate musicians joining me at my table. Made what could have been an amazing evening out into one I was looking forward to leaving. Even the wait staff was apologetic .

Enjoyed a last minute reservation for Valentine's Day. Host/chef was gracious and welcoming. Food was good. Only complaints are minor - scallop dish only had four scallops - average size. Other special items had run out by that time of the evening, but given the Valentine's Day celebrations, running out of some items is expected. Perhaps that was the tail end of the scallops? Seat was next to the kitchen/waitress station which led to more noise/traffic than desired. Overall, very good, though. Would recommend this restaurant.

Great food & atmosphere. Complaint: BOTH times I have been there they have been out of multiple items on the menu. I was there on Valentine's day (7:45 reservation) and they were already out of the Filet Mignon & the Lobster Risotto (along with a couple other items). The other time I was there is was 5pm & they were already out of many items. Seriously?!? I understand not wanting to order too much but that's ridiculous. Our waitress on V-day was not that attentive but I noticed that the servers were all making there own drinks. No bartender?? I will go back because the food is great but I would really like the chef/owner to get their processes streamlined so that the public can enjoy Hearth without so many limitations.

We loved the food. Great wine list, appetizers were outstanding. Try the bacon wrapped dates, they are delightful. Staff was very attentive and helpful. We went there on valentine's day expecting a romantic evening, and were a little disappointed. We were within inches of other diners, and they could hear every word we were saying. We prefer a bit more intimate place. The food is fantastic, and we will go back, but with a party of four or more so we may have a more private table

We have always had wonderful meals at Hearth, but Valentine's Day was exquisite. We had the Tornadoesof Filet Mignon - absolutely wonderful. Our salads were tasty and the deserts were divine. Server Polly was very attentive, informative and personable. Only one downside, when we got our salads, we ordered some bread, but didn't get it until we were through with the salads. Even though David probably doesn't know us, he always acknowledges us as we come and go - makes us feel really welcome and appreciated.

This latest trip we took a gamble and took our two daughters, ages 9 and 13. Something we normally wouldn't do but this was a bit of a celebration dinner for us so we gave it a shot. Luckily they love to try new foods (and unfortunately for my bank account, they have excellent expensive taste). However, I should mention this is not a place for young children. Many, if not most, are there without children on purpose and are looking for a nice place to enjoy a good meal and good conversation - not to be interrupted by screaming, crying children. There is no kid's menu here. Great place for a date night, great wine selection and a few seasonal beer selections. Wonderful local food choices, the wood fired fresh vegetables is a must!

Restaurant and food wasn't quite as good as previous visits. Maybe it was because of how busy they were on new years eve, but they were out of a lot of dishes, our waiter missed filling our drinks so we were empty for awhile and the dish we had wasn't as good as past visits with a similar meal. We'll go back because we've had good food and service in the past with hope that it was just the night.

We had a wonderful dinner on New Year's Eve with out family (we have teenagers - old enough to appreciate great food). The menu has lots of choices - appetizers, salads, entrees, pizzas .Lots of gluten-fee, too. The only disappointment was that by the time we were ordering (7:30 pm) they were out of a few dinner selections that we were interested in - but there were plenty of other options, so it wasn't hard to choose something else. Everything was delicious. (Try the bacon-wrapped dates!) This was our first time at The Hearth - but it won't be our last. I have recommended it to friends a number of times already.
