  • "Went to the restaurant on a weekend evening. Upon arriving, with a reservation, there was confusion and finally was told to walk into the restaurant a little and find the other hostess who would take us to our table. Our waiter was very slow and came across as very fake. My wife and I each ordered a specialty cocktail and both were undrinkable. Her drink was so sweet and clearly contained a fair amount of canned/ bottled juices whereas mine had no flavor. And if the drinks weren't bad enough, we could each only eat about a quarter of our meal before surrendering and saving our stomach from enduring it even further. I would describe it as one step below wedding food. We paid the rediculously overpriced bill and were just happy to be leaving!"

  • "The Food was amazing! I had the Snapper.....Soooo good. The lamb Chops were good but of course not as much meat as you would like."

  • "This place is ok. Service was slow I thought for a Thursday night. Seating is crowded, but food was good."

  • "Have been to Hearsay three times now and every time the service is fantastic. The first two times, the entrees ordered were great! I had the crabcakes, cevichi, and salmon with broccolini. Last time I went for lunch I ordered the snapper. Too salty! Unsure if it the normal recipe is this salty, or it was just a freak turn-out but I won't order it again. Other people ordered the Hearsay burger and loved it!"

  • "Bar service seemed a little slow, but it was a Tuesday night and we were upstairs so that's not too surprising. Otherwise, everything was excellent."

  • "Loved my dinner here with my boyfriend! Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We split the chef's appetizer platter and crab cakes. It was wonderful! The platter included stuffed mushrooms, battered asparagus, smoked salmon crostinis, and caprese salad skewers. It was more than enough food! I also had the Whitney drink and it was fabulous! Sweet and sour at the same time. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Food is great. Mixologist are even better. Sit at the bar a strike up a conversation with bartender Tell them what you like and dislike. Throw caution to the wind and let them create your perfect cocktail!"

  • "Although we had a reservation, we did have to wait about 15 minutes. When we ordered, I found out that my first choice was not available so had to pick an alternative. Service was not very attentive and it took way too long to get a drink or to get our tab. I would only recommend this place as a drop-in or late night."

  • "The restaurant wasn't packed, but I made a reservation just in case it was. The food was great, but a little on the expensive side. Ended up getting the Kobe hotdog which included French fries and macaroni and cheese, which was exactly what I wanted. I would definitely like to try the other entrees next time!"

  • "The ambiance at Gastro is great and the food fine. It was a convenient walk to the Alley. We had to move after being seated under a dripping A/C (upstairs), and that seemed to throw the staff off a bit, but they recovered nicely."

  • "Good for special occasions, service is always a little slow."

  • "Service and food was amazing. The one and only thing I can say was bad about the place is that is was way too cold inside. We were freezing the entire time."

  • "My husband took me here for my Birthday. The ambience was great, we got a table upstairs overlooking the bar. There is a gorgeous chandelier in the middle of the restaurant and the decor is fabulous. The food, oh the food! We got the beer battered asparagus for the appetizer, chicken Marsala and Tuscan pasta for our entrees. All of it was above average. The drinks were equally good. The only con was that there was only one waitress upstairs. We had huge gaps between our first and second drinks and waiting for our check once we were ready to leave as well. Would definitely go here again. Maybe for brunch."

  • "Request on Open Table for a table away from restroom was ignored but finally honored when I insisted. The bench seat was like a teeter-totter. I thought we would be catapulted to the upper level. Service was slow. A patron bumped the server causing my guest to have beer down his back. The manager (I think) apologized and said he would comp our desserts but that never happened. Food and drinks were good."

  • "I had the espresso crusted blackened catfish and my girlfriend had the potato crusted samon. Both came on a bed of risotto with amazing sauces. The food was amazing and decent house cab wine. The domino cake for desert was really good also. I will definitely be back."

  • "Creative menu options and bottomless mimosas. Best french toast and honey butter I have EVER had. Seriously, I normally eat healthy, but this was worth it. We also had the crab stuff omelette which was a lot better than I thought it would be! If you're feeling up for it, get one lemon ricotta pancake with blueberry syrup for desert. Music from 2 acoustic guitars filled the room and created a hip, yet relaxing vibe. Plenty of space between tables to have a conversation. Perfect for boozy brunch date!"

  • "Have previously really enjoyed the food here but this time was disappointed. The fish was tough and overcooked and the vegetables over salted. Will wait a while before giving them another try."

  • "My daughter and I dined at Hearsay for the first time over the weekend. We shared the house salad (which is one of the best, simple, light salads I have ever eaten) and the black bean burger. The food was amazing, EXCEPT the "parmesan fries," which were nothing but fast food/frozen fries with a little grated cheese on them. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected something better, fresher, and made from scratch. PLEASE reconsider these fries on the menu and add something with a little more WOW. The scenery, ambiance, and staff was top notch, and we will return!"

  • "I've been here a number of times for dinner and have always been pleased. However, brunch ofer the weekend really knocked my socks off. Bottomless mimosas for only $12??? I had chicken & waffles, my husband loved his brunch burger and our friends were gaga over the lemon ricotta pancakes and crabmeat omelet. I just wish I could get brunch for every meal!"

  • "Hit Hearsay for a pre-Ballet dinner. We shared 3 appetizers and the Hearsay burger along with a couple of cocktails. Made it to the nearby Wortham in plenty of time."

  • "I had the filet and it was cooked to perfection. The server was on top of things the entire time and was social with us. The ambience and decor is spectacular. Love the wine list. We celebrated 2 birthdays and everything went perfect."

  • "Went with a few friends for Sunday brunch. We had a great time. I even received a free piece of cheesecake and the whole table got a free round of shots because it was my birthday."

  • "This place had a nice setting, dark inside with candles on every table. It can be romantic if u wasn't so close to the people next to you eating. Tables are very close! U can hear everything the person next to you say. So no private talk. The food was good just not enough season but still good. Waiter she kept checking on us. It's not a urban spot. They play no urban music, just country and rock. It's a laid back place not rowdy so that's a plus. Not a club vibe bcuz music is very low. It's more of an after work place or a lil hang out at night and get something to eat or drink type place. Food is on the expensive side and not much. Drinks was horrible. If you getting bear it might be ok because it was straight out the bottle or can."

  • "So, our entrees went two for three at the plate. Two good, one very average. Cool room, trendy location, nice staff. Check it out."

  • "We had seafood stuffed mushrooms that were a great start...and fish tacos and stuffed chicken for our entres. Would highly recommend both of them. I ordered the El Diablo to drink and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever have had. The seating is very cozy you will hear and be heard by your neighbors."

  • "Went on a Saturday night, food was delicious and our waiter was great and attentive. Was not too busy for a restaurant but the bar was full around 6pm. Make a reservation."

  • "Location and ambiance did not disappoint however the service and food did. Drinks were good, but unfortunately the lackluster food outweighed them. For example, we ordered the deviled eggs, expecting a gourmet or more homemade type take on them. Instead it was absolutely nothing special and the filling seemed pre-made/squeezed from a tube. Another example; we ordered the black bean burger, which was described to come topped with a pesto and mustard sauce along with a side of "field greens" and rosemary parmesan fries. There was no pesto, no mustard; just a plain patty. The field greens consisted of lettuce and tomatoes and the fries had absolutely no rosemary on them. On top of that, service was extremely slow and neglectful. "

  • "The food was great and the staff was very accommodating. We were leaving the theater and running a few minutes late. We called ahead to let them know and they worked us in. The beer battered asparagus is amazing as was the rest of the food. Tasty specialty drinks the complement the ambiance."

  • "For the price, the food lacked substance. That was most disappointing. "

  • "I went here with some friends before going to the ballet and we had a great time. Sometimes they run deals where you can get a free appetizer with ballet (or other theatre) tickets, which is a great deal."

  • "My friends and I had a girls' night out recently at Hearsay, and it was great. Our waiter was delightful, we had all sorts of artisanal gin- and vodka-based cocktails, and the environment was simply perfect. We drank and caught up and giggled for more than three hours. Oh, and the food--very good appetizers prevented us from getting TOO silly. We will definitely do it again! "

  • "The service is always great and every dish that has been served has been a great creative twist with very successful results. It's become my favorite downtown business lunch spot."
    Dined on 5/27/2014
  • "Our first visit to Hearsay was a mixed experience. The hostess was helpful in moving us to a table further away from loud speakers, but then left the other two people in our party (who arrived a bit after we did), waiting for 5+ minutes trying find our reservation and where we were seated. Water arrived immediately, but our drink order took way too long to be served. The cocktails were very good though, as were the wine & beer. The starters were excellent, and the presentation was great. The entrees were very good, but the pasta dish, while a nice large portion, was served in a small bowl that was rather difficult to eat out of without pasta ending up outside the bowl. Overall a good enough experience for all of us to go back."

  • "This has been our go-to Downtown brunch spot for the last several years. For starters it opens at 10 and it offers bottomless mimosas. We have always enjoyed the wide variety of choices on the menu and so were very surprised and disappointed that a number of our favorites are no longer available. No more crab/crabcake benedict. No more rodeo tacos. No more flatbread with eggs, bacon and cheese. No more croissants. So two of us went with the brunch burger [which used to be completely described on the menu but now doesn't let me know I need to nix the raw onions]. The bacon on mine seemed to have been barely cooked and so I removed it, but it sure would have made the burger better. Service was spotty as well...too much staff gabbing."
