We had one of the greatest dining experiences at Hawksworth. Incredible flavor paired with delicious wine (and lots of options) made for an unforgettable birthday experience for our group. Chad and his staff are top knotch. Worth every penny.

Honestly, one of the best restaurant expiriences I have had. The sweet breads, pork cheek, duck two ways and venison loin were all spot on, perfectly cooked and well rounded. Not only was our server super attentive, the wine team were so helpful and very welcoming. The comfotable wine cellar tour at the end of the night was surprisingly down to earth considering the amazing (and exclusive) selection.

Got greeted properly and waited in a nice waiting lounge. Got seated and waiters were very polite to us. Looks very fancy however it's located along a busy street so outside the window is quite distracting. A lil noisy too. Not too much. I enjoyed the food had this crab dish there. Seems good for business meetings

It's no wonder this restaurant was rated as the #1 restaurant in Vancouver. Service was great and food was delectable. Enjoyed the special appetizer of the evening - uni mousse with lump crab (deeelicious) as well as the duck breast with a side of foie gras as the main. Food did not disappoint. Flavours were there and portions were reasonable. To cap off the meal, must try their almond tart for dessert!! Would visit again next time in town.

  • Not for the average person

Great food. Beautiful dining room. Great service - as long as you're buying rounds of Dom Perignon or have connections in the restaurant. My girlfriend and I splurged on a nice anniversary dinner, and ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings. After ordering, we never really saw the waiter again. The people to our right were throwing money around like it was the end of the world. They had two waiters on standby most of the night. The people to our left exchanged hugs with a member of the staff on arrival. They also wanted for nothing. We were left to eat and drink in silence, without even a "how is everything?" There are better places to dine for average peasants like us. If you'd like to spend $450 to be treated with thinly-veiled contempt, by all means - I simply don't recommend it.

We received constant recognition of our special anniversary throughout the night by a variety of staff. We enjoyed the tasting menu paired with wine. It allowed the evening to flow with no more decisions to make. The food was delicious and the pairings creative and delicious. The Apple cider paired with the pork belly was scrumptious! Each course was well described when brought to the table by our server. It was a special night.

attentive service, courses delivered too quickly. Sommelier was excellent. Food pairing disappointing, i.e., vegetables did match the delicate flavour of fish. Granted the sable fish was cooked superbly. A friend had gone earlier and advised against going. We endorse his opinion.....no faults, just nothing exceptional either. The overall experience will be forgotten in a few days.

Service was impeccable. Request to be in the back room honoured and as always the food quality was superb. Only issue was the noise level was very high and for one of our guests (94 years young) it was challenging to hear. Nonetheless, our guests appreciated the energy and vibe the buzz created.

As a service industry (hotelier) professional, I generally ask the insiders (our chefs) for recommendations. This came highly recommended from a Chef in Victoria, and I have to say he was bang on! While in town on business I ran into a good friend and decided on an impromptu dinner, to which I also invited family who lives in Vancouver. We were all impressed, first by the flawless execution from our server and the rest of the team, then we were LOST in the incredible flavours and presentation of each of our dishes. Least to say, you made me (who chose the restaurant) look like a God to my friends and family. Thank you!

I really enjoyed Hawksworth 2 years ago, but my last visit wasn't so great. Two of us ordered burger (medium) and omelette. Burger arrived well done, not medium as ordered. The server never returned to our table until we were finished eating, and never asked us how the food was. Both dishes had good flavors.

I had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences at Hawksworth Restaurant. We made a reservation for 5:00pm on Friday but we ended up coming in 30 minutes late (my apologies). They had to give up the table that was reserved (very understandable as it was my fault for being 30mins late) so we ended up having to sit at the lounge area. Not a big deal because the dinner and the services that came after was beyond my expectations. We were constantly looked after. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt to our requests. The appetizers (mackerel, squid, foie torchon) was exceptionally good and every dish was explained with great detail. The main course (Tuna and duck) were quite amazing as well.

Lunch for two without dessert and only one drink costs as much here as a full three course dinner with drinks at restaurants with better calibre food. We had a lobster risotto which was disappointing as it was not creamy as expected and was instead oily and greasy. The warm wild salmon salad I had although it had an abundance of salmon had little to no salad, and any vegetables were mostly fingerling potatoes. It would have been more accurate to call this a wild salmon with fingerling potatoes than a salad. Service was also very slow, rarely anyone came to check in on us and it was hard to flag someone down to get a bill. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Meals here never fail to please! This time there were 4 of us, and every plate was delicious and surprising. The Hamachi Tartare starter was superb and the Foie Gras and the Carrot soup were equally good. Three of us had the Butter lobster, and the fourth the Beef Strip. The plates were very clean after we finished eating! The Sommelier had some great recommendations, and accommodated both wine by the glass requests and bottle requests with the same professionalism. Oh yes, and the waiter - he was a treat - professional, discrete and personable. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanted a great evening out!

Probably some of the best food I have ever eaten. Sturgeon was cooked to perfection and the flavours in the whole meal were amazing. BUT the noise level was way over the top and the overall atmosphere was loud and pretentious. There were a couple of large groups in the room and that, combined with a fairly low ceiling and a completely packed dining room, made it really hard for a party of two to carry on a conversation. The tables are also VERY close together. Hawksworth would do themselves well to remove a few tables from the space to allow a more enjoyable experience. The room is beautiful and the food was perfect but I wouldn't rush back next time I'm in Vancouver.

We came to Hawksworth to celebrate my girlfriends Birthday. I've been here many times and have always been happy with the service. Sadly, this recent visit left my girlfriend in tears. She had a rough birthday last year, so I wanted her to have a special one at a place I held in high regard. The treatment my girlfriend received when she criticized the quality of a drink, the Hotel Georgia, was both demeaning and humiliating. The waiter went so far as to question whether she drank it properly, that 3 others said it was fine and assumed that her PH balance was off!? This is absolutely unacceptable! While the food was good, this service left a terrible taste in our mouth. The manager Taylor Mikasko attempted to help but it was too late...

My boyfriend was in town for the weekend, I had been raving about Hawksworth for weeks. We booked brunch in advance, glad we did so. Boyfriend could not believe how good the food was. A downside was the child crying and wailing, but that was not the restaurant's fault. Also, you can purchase the salt and pepper grinders!? This restaurant is a gem. Will continue to rave about you guys!!

As visiting Australians we'd seen wonderful reviews in media at home and booked well ahead. We arrived to find our table not ready. Told we could wait in the lounge, we were led to a very crowded and noisy bar. We declined and sat in the foyer. The hostess informed us that the people at "our" table were now on dessert and she would hurry them up. A restaurant that hurries up its diners is not exactly a class act in our book. When finally seated we found the dining room noisy with a large group beside us. From there on things improved. Waiters were attentive & helpful without being intrusive. The food was outstanding. The combination of flavours was sublime and the plating creative and artistic.

The Ambiance rating would have been higher except for the server. He did not engage with us and would never have known it was our first visit because there was little conversation. The food was excellent except for the coffee which was not great. We had to request cream for the coffee - milk was brought first. The Eggs Benedict was done perfectly with the eggs being soft as requested with a tasty Hollandaise sauce. The steak with the eggs were done perfectly. On the way out we gave feedback about the coffee which was not the first time they had received negative feedback and were trying to change distributors. I would go back for the food but one of our party said they would not return because of the poor coffee and the price point.

Won't find anything on the cheap, spent $130 + tip for 2 entrees and a couple glasses of wine, but foodies will enjoy. Portions were reasonable, quite filling. Had the duck which was excellent and the chicken which was also tastefully done. Wine list is extensive, I thought the dinner menu was a little sparse, not a lot of vegetarian entree options. I would recommend if you enjoy great wine and cocktails, but this place is aimed at a certain kind of 5 star clientele, that could easily spend $200 on a dinner for 2.
