We came here after a show on a warm summer evening. The place was busy and crowded, in a fun location on the roof of a hotel. They had a DJ playing decent music. It was louder than it needed to be, considering there is no dance floor. We sat elbow-to-elbow with the other tables, and enjoyed our tapas. The prices were high, but consistent with similar places in the area, but the food was good. Drink prices were exceptionally high, though. The view is nothing special-it's the 12th floor on 47th St. so you're surrounded by much higher buildings, but at night, Times Square shines bright and you are completely surrounded by glowing windows, which is a very New York experience.

Didn't know this place existed but have to say that the ambiance AND good were really good. Considering it's more in the heart of midtown than expected, the food to cost ratio was great. Also looks like a cute place for brunch, which I may experience at some point.

I loved this place!!! Food was delious and ambiance was great We we not in a rush so service was fine and enjoyable, we didn't feel rushed to finish up either. It's not as family friendly even though my kids are 18 n 20 the place really prefers the over 21 crowd and they have a very random dress code. I saw guys in shorts n yet my son with collared button down and nice jeans was looked at twice But I didn't let that bother me we were seated and enjoyed the music food and sights. Very cool :) for our first rooftop dining experience

We had a very nice dinner, but our server was not very personable. It was our daughter's 18th ( noted when reservations were made) no one acknowledged the fact. She did enjoy the rooftop dinner, though, so it was a success without anything special.

I took an out of town guest here before seeing a show on a beautiful 85 degree Wednesday evening in August, and we were there around 6PM. Haven was a nice treat. The food wasn't amazing but it was quite good, and they accommodated adding 2 people to our reservation when we arrived. There are 2 bars and seating areas; the one when you first get off the elevator is quiet lively with a couple decent views. The lower bar area down a couple flights of stairs with less appealing views but tends to be less crowded and quieter. The dining service was quite good. Our food came quickly, and they got us in and out in the timeframe we had alotted. In all, we all enjoyed the experience. I would go back.

Food was very good but the portions were small. My date and I had to order an appetizer after we ate because our meals did not fill us. But we were happy with the food quality. Had a margarita pitcher which was way overpriced but tasted good. The view was of a roof of a nearby building so that was disappointing. Ah and the tables; they were so small and so close that it was uncomfortable. I chose to wait to use the restroom because I didn't want to bother the other tables. Then when we had to leave we had to squeeze through two tables nearly knocking one of the people off their chairs! And we're not even big people!! That was the biggest negative for us. Other than that this place has potential. I can see it as a great night hot spot.

Had an excellent meal here with a friend. Every piece of it was quite good. Two caveats. First, it was a little more expensive than it should be. Second, in particular, they charge for coffee refills even if you have a full meal. That's not appropriate. I will still probably go back, especially for drinks after work, but I would go back sooner and more often if it cost a bit less and coffee refills were free.

I was expecting more..I planned a 30th birthday for 5 of us..hostess was a pure ditz..food was pretty good for a rooftop but drinks were ok for the price sangria n margarita should have been much stronger..ambiance is ok not much to see I thought we would have a better view..still outside is decorated nice and it's clean..our table was right near kitchen n a computer and it was such a tight squeeze we were a lil upset..my frien enjoyed herself though we all would have liked a better d.j so we were able to dance near the bar after eating. We ate after 11pm so we figured it would get busy and music would get louder and place would be a but more fun but we weren't much impressed.mi would recommend for a date but not a group of people.

Some friends recommended Haven Rooftop after celebrating their son's birthday there. My daughter wanted to go before summer's end so I surprised her with Friday night dinner. The Haven is located on the rooftop of Sanctuary Hotel which is itself a very cool place. From the moment we arrived,we were made to feel welcome, doorman took us through the lobby to elevator & told us to take stairs from 9th floor up to Haven. At the top, we were greeted again very courteously, & though we were half an hour early for our reservation, we were sat immediately. I liked the way the tables and comfortable chairs were set up with bar in the corner. My margarita was delicious, the guacamole was perfect. Mesclun salad good. My daughter loved her pasta dish.

The food was great, the drinks were well made, the service was wonderful. And everything would have been just dandy, except because of the volume of the music, I couldn't have a conversation with someone unless my mouth was within a foot of their ear. Makes it *really* hard to engage other human beings, that way. We even tried sitting at a dinner table outside the bar area, but it was still overloud (though a little less so). I know the physiology of loudness and bars. I know loud music makes people drink more. (see http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/addiction/news/20080718/loud-bar-music-makes-you-drink-more) But this was ridiculous. If you do go, I recommend the tuna tartare and the shrimp-and-shaved-brussel-sprout salad.

Was charged for 3 bottles of wine, but only ordered 2. Food was nondescript. A vegetable taco (vegan) meal was ordered and arrived soaked in butter. Had to send back but was rectified. Service slow. Happy hour was 4 - 6 we arrived at 5 but was informed discounted drinks could only be order at bar not table. Rooftop dining was not high enough, so the view was restricted to looking into office windows. I would recommend you skip this place and enjoy one of the other many rooftop experiences that NYC has to offer.

This has to be perhaps one of the worst restaurants I have been to. I ordered a penne pasta with chicken. For $20 I expect at least a meal that was not microwaved. The grilled chicken was dry and looked like it came right out of a frozen bag from Costco. My friend ordered a steak and she said it was ok. However, my meal came 15 minutes before her's did and all I could do was wait for her's to come while my meal got cold sitting there. What is worse, when I asked the server about it she said it was the kitchen's fault and not her job to make sure food comes out on time. I disputed the "mandatory" 18% gratuity and I had to explain to the server why she does not deserve that and that it is her job to make sure the food comes out on time.

The view, setting, and decor were great, but the service was awful. They state on their menu that the 18% gratuity is included in all checks, but this clearly makes it so staff don't care about providing a good experience seeing as their tips don't depend on it. - Hostess ignored us while we stood directly in front her waiting to confirm our reservation for about 2 minutes. - Waitress took forever to take our drink orders, forgot to come back and check IDs 5 minutes later, then didn't get our drinks to us until 10 minutes after that. - We weren't offered another round until we were ready to leave. - Two salads apparently took 30 minutes to prepare with few other customers - We were charged for every single refill of soda water.

The service was horribly unattentive. Waitress had no idea what she was doing and in my opinion didn't care because she knew she was receiving an 18% gratuity regardless of her service since it is put on every single check. The hostess gave us a limited menu, we had no idea until the couple next to us received a full dinner menu. We were robbed of a full dining experience. When asking the manager why, he looked dumbfounded and clueless. He said it was because they didn't have many of the small menues left, if this was so why did we get a small menu. He didn't make any sense and had no clue how to run a restaurant. Coming from the industry myself, thhis is unacceptable. Very bad experience. Food wasn't bad, but nothing special.

Great place to hang out with friends. But make sure you have reservations otherwise the wait is long. I was able to make reservations same night and when we got there the manager personally came down to fetch us. Once upstairs we were asked to wait by the bar for seating which took about 20 minutes. The bartender was great and the martini was amazing. It was a little too loud but I guess that's expected.

We expected a good rooftop bar, but being close to Time Square, it was a tourist Haven. We arrived late but the host was gracious and found us a table. I ordered a $15 Mohito at the bar while we waited; it was awful, truly awful. The patrons were your typical Times Square denizens - no style. The decor goes for "cool" and misses the mark, coming off as cheap instead. Once seated, our waitress was very nice but not a pro; she replaced my Mohito - better than the first but still bad. We ordered from the menu of random dishes from trendy cuisines; Our food was actually alright - nothing special but better than I expected. Overall, very average, and won't be back. There are far better. aThe drinks were

Upon arrival my partner was stopped by two gentlemen before stepping out of the elevator as to why he was there. I am hoping it was not a racial thing because he is African American. Our waitress was cordial to my partner but very rude to me... We were seated next to a birthday party that was giving lap dances and twirking at the table...Not exactly what we expected. I realize they knew we were only 18 but we are paying just like the next customer. So, overall experience poor I would NEVER recommend or return to the Haven Rooftop!!!!!

Haven rooftop is nothing special. It is a nice rooftop that happens to be part of a hotel that happens to be smack in the middle of midtown and Times Square. It is on the 10th floor and you are surrounded by taller buildings. Music is played at a volume that you can still have conversation during dinner. My main complaint is the ludicrous prices they think they can charge people. Although the food and drinks were good, a Mixed drink is $17! Food is overpriced as well. They also close at 1AM for some reason. This is a good date spot, but There are many other rooftops to choose from which are nicer, a little cheaper and provide much more bang for your buck. I will not come back here again.

Went with coworkers for happy hour. It's a fun rooftop spot and the drinks, truffle fries and tuna tartare are great! However, we had a reservation, but we couldn't all sit until we were all there...meaning we had to get drinks at the bar even with our reservation, which was frustrating. Then we were seated and enjoying, when a big group 2.5 hours late for their reservation showed up. The restaurant asked us to leave our table and go to the bar. We politely declined...we had to wait 30 minutes for one person in our group to arrive and even once we were all there, we were made to wait for our table. My point in this description is 1. make sure your whole group arrives on time. 2. be patient and flexible...and you will enjoy this place!
