  • "Have to come here everytime I'm in NYC.. Great food ...best mojitos...live entertainment! Disappointed they were out of mango salsa......will be back"

  • "This was my first time at Havana Central. I took my wife for a birthday dinner. It was a great experience for our dollars to say the least, with a few snags. Those had to do with the entrees themselves. We found them to be too heavy on salt or too sweet. But, everything else was great, from the empanadas and churros to the batidos. Tasty! We will definitely go back for another meal. However, if we do, we should avoid certain servers. Seemingly, some are more attentive than others, and we got an inattentive one."

  • "Havana Central is a great place for a pre-theater dinner. Interesting cocktails with happy hour prices from 5-7 pm. Food is well prepared and interesting with moderate prices."

  • "Shared two great tapas plates (pulled pork tacos & lobster avacado) and an order of skirt steak. All three dishes were flavorful. I wish I had more tacos. The margaritas were very good as well. Strong. Great place to eat before a show."

  • "My experience at Havana was great! Food and service were amazing. I would definitely recommend it!!"

  • "Food quality has gone way down here. It appears that salt is their primary ingredient here. There is no sound barrier from the loud crowed bar. Noise level so high conversation is impossible. Service was indifferent although fast. We skipped desert so that we could get out into the comparative quiet of times square"

  • "Havana Central is not what it used to be. The food is mediocre at best. I went there are a concert at Town Hall. I arrived there around 10 PM. I ordered Shrimp in Garlic Sauce and Havana Corn On The Cob. The food arrived quickly but it was lukewarm. All of it lacked flavor and it was unappealing to the eye. The food that I was served is typical of most a chain restaurants. The next time that I'm looking for Cuban Food, I'll stick to a freestanding restaurant instead of this place."

  • "I've been going to Havana for many years, and unfortunately the cuisine is not like it used to be. The empanadas are too greasy, the rice is not fully cooked, pretty cheap with side salads. The service is a little slow, but everyone is super nice."

  • "I have been to this restaurant before, and I was looking forward to this return visit because it was Empanada Day, which had been touted in a couple of email blasts from Havana Central. Unfortunately, the waiter informed us that we would be limited to only 3 emapanadas each. This was disappointing, on top of being false advertising, since nowhere in the email blast had it mentioned a limit on the number of empanadas. The manager was apologetic when informed after the meal, and said that it had been the chef's orders. Surprised that the chef was allowed to limit our meals that way. The waiters were very efficient and pleasant, as always."

  • "The restaurant isn't far from my job. If I want a tastey lunch, I come here. The staff is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is lively and most of all I love the food."

  • "Slow service, an extremely long wait for simple appetizers, and way too many loud teenagers can't make up for really good food."

  • "Have been to Havana Central a number of previous times. We love the food, service and the convenience of being right in the middle of the theatre district. I would highly reccomend this restaurant."

  • "Dinner was quite yummy, it was really busy however our waitress was amazing as was the manager who checked on us twice to see how every thing was going. I work in a customer service business so I really was able to appreciate the service we received during such a busy time. Thank you!!"

  • "Not having been to a Cuban restaurant before, I was not sure what to expect. When we arrived, there was a waiting line and I always have a rule about restaurants: if it's empty, stay away. However, I don't like waiting, and fortunately we had made an online reservation, which I must also compliment the staff on. Within minutes my reservation was confirmed. The food and atmosphere were outstanding, unlike anything I have ever seen in any restaurant. This is the kind of restaurant you endeavour to visit again."

  • "First time my wife and I ate there. Recommended by a co worker who has been there and we loved it, a little pricey on the sangria, but the food was great and we would go back again."

  • "The service was horrendous. We got there at 7:30 and finished eating by 8:15 and the waiter did not come back to ask us if we wanted dessert until 9:30. My Cuban sandwich was dry but my drink was good. I asked for another drink and it never came. I was extremely disappointed and will never go back."

  • "The food was decent (though I don't recommend the fried plantains) and the service was great but it's definitely not a place to go for quiet conversation with your friends. The DJ is loud!"

  • "Waited 45 minutes for order to be served at lunchtime. This is unacceptable. Placed order at 12:15pm, served at 1pm. Waitress never stopped by to apologize or explain what was taking so long"

  • "This was my second time at Havana Central and we have a great time, again. I went with several friends and we shared appetizers and a pitcher of mojitos. The food is always great and I'd go back."

  • "Good location, good food, great selection of drinks, they had a DJ, music playing was a little loud so trying to talk with the party you came with was challenging. Overall expensive was great."

  • "We were a little apprehensive about going to a restaurant in Times Square, a noted tourist rip-off place. What a great surprise to find Havana Central. The food was excellent, the service great and friendly, the prices reasonable, and they treated the kids wonderfully."

  • "My friends and I went here to celebrate ny birthday and last night in New York and it couldnt have been any better tge food was amazing and worth the money, the drinks were pretty good too. Everyone should try this place atleast once."

  • "My friend and I went before our Saturday night show and we enjoyed it very much! The drinks were pricey, but delicious. We had mojitos. For dinner we had empanadas that were delicious and then we each got an appetizer. The food was reasonably priced too. The only complaint is that it was packed!! I hate sitting squeezed next to other people, but overall a nice experience!"

  • "We wanted to try Cuban, since we don't have a lot of choices where we live. Little did we realize that Havana Central was about a block from our hotel in Times Square. The restaurant has two levels. The downstairs was very authentic Havana, so of course we were seated in the upper loft. The food was excellent. I had the Paella which was rich, flavorful, and plentiful. My wife had the Mango Salmon, which was so tender, it separated itself just by looking at it (not really, but it was soooo good.). The place was a little too loud for us, but otherwise, Havana Central was a lovely restaurant, had live entertainment, and great food. The Mojitos were also fantastic and the wine list had some excellent and reasonably priced wines. Try it!"

  • "The food was okay and the service was very good. But it is way too noisy for me."

  • "Foods was very tasty. We started off with two appetizers, stuffed plantain basket. The other was pulled pork taquitos. Both were delicious . For a main course we ordered roast pork mofongo, crispy shred beef and garlic chicken and shrimp. All the meals were outstanding. F"

  • "Havana Central is a great place to go pre-show, as it is right in the heart of Times Square and has a diverse, reasonably priced menu. Vegetarians can find choices on this menu. Salads were not as stellar as I had hoped they would be for those seeking a lighter or vegetarian option for lunch. Cuban chicken sandwich was ample -- in fact enough for two to share if they also get an appetizer, soup, or salad to go with it. Lively atmosphere. 60 - 75 minutes is all that is needed to have plenty of time for a nice lunch here prior to going to the show."

  • "The food is very tasty, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable. Very good place to go for after a matinee or before the theater. It was almost too noisy to talk in the downstairs area, but we were seated upstairs in a corner so it was a bit more bearable. Nevertheless, very good!"

  • "Had an awesome time! The food was outstanding! Plus, since we went during happy hour, we enjoyed our mojitos at a great price! Would love to come back and definitely recommend this restaurant especially before taking in a Broadway play!!"

  • "dinner was great at havana - it's always been reliable when we are in times square, as the place to get dinner before a show (very quick) or after (great caiprahnas)."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "My husband and I love this place and since it is very close to the theater, it is often our "go to" spot when we have tickets for a show. The food is very good. The prices are typical for midtown. The service was very good. I would suggest making reservations - it does get very crowded."
