"Read some reviews and was looking forward to sitting by the live music but we were seated in the very back in the sunroom. Couldn't hear the live music but they had music playing. Drinks were really good. Had the squid appetizer and was disappointed since it was not grilled like said it would be. Enjoyed ourselves though."

"We came here on a Friday night with another couple - the food was amazing, as were the drinks. I got the rope vieja, which came in a "bowl" made of plantain chips - SO, SO good. My boyfriend the skirt steak, which he said was the best he's ever had, and the sangria was top-notch. My one and only qualm was the noise level - this place is not large, and they had a live music duo playing incredibly loud music and singing along. In a larger restaurant, this would have been fantastic. But here, I couldn't hear what my friends were saying. Not ideal... So, if coming on a weekend evening, request a table as far from the music as possible. Otherwise, come on a weeknight (I'm assuming the music is only weekends?)"

"I had mentioned when we were being seated that it was my friends birthday and when desert was delivered the wait staff sang happy birthday and provided a candel this was done with me requesting it. I though that was a really nice and a great personal touch."

"This really is Cuban food at its best. Just like Mom used to make. Yes, the place could use a little sprucing up, but don't let its tired look fool you. The food is consistently good and the service is friendly and accommodating. In my opinion, still the best Cuban food around."

"Food was great. Tamales and empanadas were delicious appetizers. The oxtail and snapper were highlights. My only complaint, and it's a small one, was that the rice was a little bland. The drinks were good. Nice sangria and mojitos. The live music on Saturday night contributed to the great atmosphere of the place. Would definitely go back the next time we're in NY."
