The food was so fast it was most
certainly previously prepared. We had it before our sangria that we ordered at the same time! Regardless, it was delicious and this place is amazing."

Everything we had was good. There
was an automatic gratuity added to our bill and this did not prevent our server from giving us great service. We checked in on four square and got 10% off our bill!"
Dined on 4/9/2014
Great server that explained all
the dishes and gave good recommendations that we ordered. The appetizers were the absolute best (we shared the appetizer sample- highly recommended!)"

Food is not South Beach's
strength, but here and there you find a good place. This is not one of them. The food is expensive, in keeping with the neighborhood, but even a simple steak sandwich left a lot to be desired, price aside. The mojito is good, but probably not worth the price when you can twice as much at a happy hour. Go elsewhere. Espanola Way is charming, and the service was fine. This was my least favorite meal during a four-day trip."

I had a wonderful time at Havana
1957 on a recent trip to Miami Beach. The food was great and the cocktails were delicious. It was great to sit outside and be transported to Cuba with the rich flavors of the dishes."
Dined on 12/28/2013
Havana 1957 truly has to be
visited at least once when in South Beach. It's a shame we left it until our last night!! We booked a table outside, which added to the whole experience. Our waiter was really helpful and gave us some great recommendations.. The best of which has to be their Mojito using one of their top rums, $2 extra, but the best $2 you're spend!! Great scene, great staff, great Mojitos, great food.. That sums it up really.... GO"
Dined on 4/5/2014
Enjoyed the food and the
recommendation made by the waiter staff. My only minor complaint was the gratuitous 18% self tip. Other then that I would still recommend it."
Dined on 4/2/2014
Excellent cuban food with a good
vibrant ambiance on Spaniola Way! Great place highly recomend it!!"
Dined on 4/2/2014
Charming Cuban restaurant in a
trendy neighborhood of Sobe. Wonderful ambience and terrific people watching on a busy Saturday evening. We had a great waiter and tried several of the Cuban specialties. Loved the Sangria!"
Dined on 3/29/2014
We were seated in the corner by
the food pick up window which was not ideal. The waiters were hovering at our table, not to help but to pick up orders. The Tamale was excellent."
Dined on 3/27/2014
Our favorite place to eat in South
Beach. The first place we eat when we arrive and always come back for more. The service is always friendly and fast. The special chicken is the best chicken anywhere in the world (IMHO). Try to get a table outside on Espanola Way to get away from the traffic noise on Washington St."
Dined on 3/25/2014
We think that we could take an
experience to travel cube staying in Miami. Waitres service is outstanding... he has recommended as "Pollo especial de la casa" & "Lechon asado" two typical Cubean disches... of cour sharing with a nice Mojito"
Dined on 3/23/2014
I. always, stop by Havana 1957 for
dinner when I'm in South Florida. It is one of the highlights because the food is delicious and very consistent. Lots of energy and great atmosphere on the street."
Dined on 3/20/2014
I selected Havana 1957 for a
recent bachelorette party dinner based on the reviews, and was pleased with the selection! The location and ambiance were great, very vibrant and it was fun to be on Espanola Way. Our party split a couple of appetizers and then shared 4 entrees across 6 people and left full, but not stuffed. The "especial" combo with chicken and plantains was a hit with our group, as was the grouper with lime rice. The only complaint we might have is that the servers seemed eager to turn over our table, quickly gathering up our plates while some of us were still eating and finishing our drinks. That being said, I would recommend for groups of 6 or less!"
Dined on 3/21/2014
Food was very good, we all enjoyed
our entrees Service was fair. Waiter and other staff were very friendly. He forgot our appetizer completely and we had an inordinate wait to order coffee and desert. To top it off, they forgot we checked in so Open Table thought we no-showed. Oh well. I still liked the food but don't expect a lot from the service"
Dined on 3/16/2014
In a city with a large Cuban
population, this neighborhood gem is an easy walk from our South Beach hotel on Ocean Drive. We sampled from across the menu and enjoyed the variety of flavors we tasted. We asked to be seated on the sidewalk because it was a pleasant weather night to dine outside. Service was frequent enough to not be bothersome. The meal was enjoyable and relaxing. I would definitely return."

Havana 1957 has amazing food,
friendly service and a very vibrant environment. A delightful find on a busy walking street. Reservations are a MUST! We reserved a table for 8PM on a Sunday night and were welcomed and seated right away; arriving walk-ins were bring told the wait would be a minimum of 90-minutes. The food and drinks were delectable - fresh, juicy tender chicken, crisp tostones, perfect rice and beans, and refreshing sangria - Yummmmm!"

"Havana 1957" was a pleasant
dining experience for eight of us who had a wonderful dinner on their patio, during Spring Break on Miami Beach."
Dined on 3/15/2014
Good fun & reasonably authentic
Cuban restaurant, great location, plenty of outdoor seating, very popular! The staff are very friendly, food was good, but not a knock out, despite that would recommend as overall good venue."
Dined on 3/2/2014
A friend who is a local Cuban
suggested this Restuarant. We were looking for authentic Cuban. It was perfect. Delicious, lively and in a great area of Espanola way. I will return."
Dined on 3/12/2014
Great spot on a historic corner of
South Beach. Had the chicken fricasee which was delicious . My 14 year old very picky daughter had the grilled chicken which she inhaled. Very glad we had reservations as there was a very long line out front"
Dined on 3/11/2014
The food was very good and it was
great to sit outside. The restaurant is pretty small on the inside, which is why I was confused how it took 45 minutes to get our food after we ordered. We watched people who were seated after us get their food and leave before we did. I am not sure if this is typical for a Friday night, but it was slightly frustrating. I would recommend the shredded beef and any pork dishes. The sangria and mojitos are great as well."
Dined on 3/7/2014
I loved this place! It has that
mom and pop aesthetic to it. Many of the waiters had that heavy spanish speaking accent, when they weren't speaking in spanish, which gives the restaurant that authentic feel, but don't worry they are very capable of speaking English. The service was very very fast as our food came out in less than 7 minutes, which was before we finished eating the free plaintain chips (yum) that they put at your table. The drinks were good and the food was moderately priced. The portions was large, tasty, and filling so make sure to take your appetite. The ambiance of this place is incredible. Espanola way takes you out of South Beach and Drops you in Spain if that's what you're looking for then you've found the place."
Dined on 3/8/2014
We had a large group: 11 diners.
Havana 1957 was ready for us. The Cuban food was great, plentiful, and arrived promptly. Enjoyed the cocktails even more. Our server was excellent and very accommodating when we asked to divide the checks. We will highly recommend to others."
Dined on 3/6/2014
food was fantastic.. we ate there
twice during our vacation in south beach. small, loud and crowded but worth it.. Right on Espanola way which is a very cool street. best Mojitos ever!!!"
Dined on 3/6/2014
Luv how it is right next to
Espanol Way street! It's so cute, it reminds me of Little Italy in NYC! People walking down the main street, restaurants on both sides of the street, lots had sidewalk dining, people watching was fun. The food here was ok. A little on the pricier side with alcohol but worth it. Give it a try."
Dined on 2/22/2014
We had guests from out of town and
we found the food and the service to be excellent."
Dined on 2/23/2014
My boyfriend and I dined here last
weekend - we are from Chicago and have never had true authentic Cuban cuisine and were told to come here to find it. Romel was the most phenomenal waiter of all-time! He was energetic and fun and recommended different dishes for us to try since we didn't really know what to order. I had probably the best mojito I've ever has in my life! The shrimp and steak were cooked to perfection and the yuca appetizer was amazing! We will make this our staple South Beach joint every trip we take going forward."
Dined on 2/21/2014
Havana 1957 is situated in a
lively neighborhood which can be enjoyed by sitting outside. The server was attentive and made recommendations. I would rate the food as average. I ordered the chicken house special. The meat was dry. The drinks were fabulous and the drink menu has a lot of offerings. Perhaps we caught a bad night in terms of food? I would give Havana 1957 another try despite the average experience this time."
Dined on 2/20/2014
Hostess was very attentive of our
reservation time, which I recommend. Had awesome rum & cokes with Lechon & flan. Only complaint was our server who was energetic & attentive up until dessert, but then we had to wait too long for our check."
Dined on 2/19/2014
Havana was a delightful
experience. The food was authentic and extremely delicious. A true gem!"
Dined on 2/14/2014
As you can see from my nickname I
was born in Cuba and lived there until I was 10. Know Cuban food as both my Mom and Dad were excellent cooks. This little spot in Espaniola Way in Miami Beach was very charming. Our waiter Romel was from Cuba. He was terrific. Warm, engaging, bright and a terrific host. The food was good. Not great. I ordered the churrasco but it was not tender as advertised. All else though hit the mark. The black beans and rice, maduros and tostones as well as the boiled yuca were delicious. Ask for Romel next time and you will not be disappointed."
Dined on 2/15/2014
Food had great
taste.....especially lechon asado, white fish and Sat special pollo and mojitos deliscous. Wanted to have the Rabo encendido but is only offered on Sundays. It was too loud sitting outside along street with the traffic, (we were visiting with family) so hard for talking... but I bet it would be very nice inside. decorated very nice and felt authentic... Waitress and server were excellent."
Dined on 2/8/2014
It was loud because it's on a busy
street, but well worth the noise. The food and service were both amazing!"
Dined on 2/5/2014
Havana 1957 does a good job of
emulating a restaurant in Cuba. Food was ok. The chicken special is quite good and a larg portion. Drinks are expensive, like everywhere in South Beach. Service was adequate but indifferent. We sat right by the bar and there was an electrical fire. The power went out and police and fireman showed up. We understand that stuff like this happens, but it really delayed diinner and drinks. It would've been nice if the restaurant offered to buy us a beer."

There are many choices for Cuban
cuisine in the Miami area. One doesn't have to go further than Havana 1957, with multiple locations. I dined at both the Espanola and Lincoln Road locales. The steaks, service, wine and ambience were first rate. Prices are moderate. I'm a returnee having eaten at the Espanola locale last year while attending the same convention. It does not get any better."
Dined on 1/27/2014
We arrived from snowy Chicago to
rainy Miami....much better of course (70 degrees!) we were recommended to Havana 1957 by the concierge and many other recs we had read. It was great-food, ambience, incredibly friendly servers, making good food and drink recommendations! We sat outside...good awnings kept the rain off all diners. It was great!! We'd go back."
Dined on 1/30/2014
We booked for a Saturday night.
The restaurant was hopping. There's almost no where to wait until your table is ready. They use every square inch of space available (and I can't blame them). The food more than makes up for any qualms I have with the cramped quarters. Everything we had we terrific. We wound up eating at the bar, and the bartender was very helpful making suggestions. We wound up ordering a sampling of different appetizers rather than an entrée. Everything was superb."
Dined on 1/25/2014
This was the worst dining
experience we had over our long weekend in Miami. Our server was horrible - never checked on us, scoffed when we did not order pricey drinks (not big drinkers, what can I say?), and grouchy. The food was okay - shrimp was good but everything else average or below. No vegetarian options (I know it's Cuban food but hard when you have one veg in a large group). The automatic gratuity ensured that our terrible server would get his 18%. Never again."
Dined on 1/26/2014
Great menu and very helpful
waitstaff. Full colourful Cuban experience. Coveted sidewalk seat under a just right heater. If you haven't gone before think about the house special 48 hour marinade bitter orange chicken. Awesome. Food arrived at a great pace making this a top rated "dining experience.""
