We had a large group: 11 diners.
Havana 1957 was ready for us. The Cuban food was great, plentiful, and arrived promptly. Enjoyed the cocktails even more. Our server was excellent and very accommodating when we asked to divide the checks. We will highly recommend to others."

food was fantastic.. we ate there
twice during our vacation in south beach. small, loud and crowded but worth it.. Right on Espanola way which is a very cool street. best Mojitos ever!!!"
Dined on 3/6/2014
Luv how it is right next to
Espanol Way street! It's so cute, it reminds me of Little Italy in NYC! People walking down the main street, restaurants on both sides of the street, lots had sidewalk dining, people watching was fun. The food here was ok. A little on the pricier side with alcohol but worth it. Give it a try."

We had guests from out of town and
we found the food and the service to be excellent."

My boyfriend and I dined here last
weekend - we are from Chicago and have never had true authentic Cuban cuisine and were told to come here to find it. Romel was the most phenomenal waiter of all-time! He was energetic and fun and recommended different dishes for us to try since we didn't really know what to order. I had probably the best mojito I've ever has in my life! The shrimp and steak were cooked to perfection and the yuca appetizer was amazing! We will make this our staple South Beach joint every trip we take going forward."

Havana 1957 is situated in a
lively neighborhood which can be enjoyed by sitting outside. The server was attentive and made recommendations. I would rate the food as average. I ordered the chicken house special. The meat was dry. The drinks were fabulous and the drink menu has a lot of offerings. Perhaps we caught a bad night in terms of food? I would give Havana 1957 another try despite the average experience this time."

Hostess was very attentive of our
reservation time, which I recommend. Had awesome rum & cokes with Lechon & flan. Only complaint was our server who was energetic & attentive up until dessert, but then we had to wait too long for our check."

Havana was a delightful
experience. The food was authentic and extremely delicious. A true gem!"

As you can see from my nickname I
was born in Cuba and lived there until I was 10. Know Cuban food as both my Mom and Dad were excellent cooks. This little spot in Espaniola Way in Miami Beach was very charming. Our waiter Romel was from Cuba. He was terrific. Warm, engaging, bright and a terrific host. The food was good. Not great. I ordered the churrasco but it was not tender as advertised. All else though hit the mark. The black beans and rice, maduros and tostones as well as the boiled yuca were delicious. Ask for Romel next time and you will not be disappointed."

Food had great
taste.....especially lechon asado, white fish and Sat special pollo and mojitos deliscous. Wanted to have the Rabo encendido but is only offered on Sundays. It was too loud sitting outside along street with the traffic, (we were visiting with family) so hard for talking... but I bet it would be very nice inside. decorated very nice and felt authentic... Waitress and server were excellent."
Dined on 2/8/2014
It was loud because it's on a busy
street, but well worth the noise. The food and service were both amazing!"
Dined on 2/5/2014
Havana 1957 does a good job of
emulating a restaurant in Cuba. Food was ok. The chicken special is quite good and a larg portion. Drinks are expensive, like everywhere in South Beach. Service was adequate but indifferent. We sat right by the bar and there was an electrical fire. The power went out and police and fireman showed up. We understand that stuff like this happens, but it really delayed diinner and drinks. It would've been nice if the restaurant offered to buy us a beer."

There are many choices for Cuban
cuisine in the Miami area. One doesn't have to go further than Havana 1957, with multiple locations. I dined at both the Espanola and Lincoln Road locales. The steaks, service, wine and ambience were first rate. Prices are moderate. I'm a returnee having eaten at the Espanola locale last year while attending the same convention. It does not get any better."

We arrived from snowy Chicago to
rainy Miami....much better of course (70 degrees!) we were recommended to Havana 1957 by the concierge and many other recs we had read. It was great-food, ambience, incredibly friendly servers, making good food and drink recommendations! We sat outside...good awnings kept the rain off all diners. It was great!! We'd go back."

We booked for a Saturday night.
The restaurant was hopping. There's almost no where to wait until your table is ready. They use every square inch of space available (and I can't blame them). The food more than makes up for any qualms I have with the cramped quarters. Everything we had we terrific. We wound up eating at the bar, and the bartender was very helpful making suggestions. We wound up ordering a sampling of different appetizers rather than an entrée. Everything was superb."

This was the worst dining
experience we had over our long weekend in Miami. Our server was horrible - never checked on us, scoffed when we did not order pricey drinks (not big drinkers, what can I say?), and grouchy. The food was okay - shrimp was good but everything else average or below. No vegetarian options (I know it's Cuban food but hard when you have one veg in a large group). The automatic gratuity ensured that our terrible server would get his 18%. Never again."

Great menu and very helpful
waitstaff. Full colourful Cuban experience. Coveted sidewalk seat under a just right heater. If you haven't gone before think about the house special 48 hour marinade bitter orange chicken. Awesome. Food arrived at a great pace making this a top rated "dining experience.""

A great way to sample Cuban food
in a classic Miami Beach spot. The service was very attentive and warm and the food was good and plentiful. Consider sharing a dish. A fun experience."
Dined on 1/12/2014
Our server was quite good and
knowledgeable about the menu. He made good suggestions, and we liked the food. However, the entire dinner-salad included-arrived about 5 minutes from the time we ordered it, while we were still sipping our cocktails. McDonalds doesn't produce food that quickly. We were finished with the entire meal 45 minutes after arriving. The inside of the restaurant was very small, and we were seated on the sidewalk "patio." The traffic noise-busses, motorcycles etc. was deafening. Maybe at lunch, if you were in a hurry, this would be a good place. But it did not meet our needs or expectations as a nice Cuban dinner place in Miami."

I always find time to have dinner
at Havana 1957. It is consistently good and a fun experience."
Dined on 1/8/2014
We like Cuban food, so our
expectations are high. Food was very good and the atmosphere pleasant in this small restaurant."
Dined on 1/7/2014
I loved the food at Havana 1957! I
had ropa vieja and it was everything I wanted it to be. I know some other reviewers have noted that the restaurant was unable to accommodate big groups, and having been there I can see why - it's a fairly small, intimate place and it's packed with as many tables as they can squeeze in. It's in a fun (if touristy) spot in South Beach with great people-watching and, like I said, the food is awesome - but don't go if you want a quiet or relaxing time. Boisterous is the word."
Dined on 12/20/2013
This place is full of energy! The
food is really good and the staff is very enthusiastic. Española Way is a great place to take out-of-town visitors and H 1957 is the perfect place to expose them to a variety of Cuban dishes."
Dined on 12/28/2013
Excellent food & service.
"Espicialidad de la casa" was wonderful. Mojito and Pina Colada, a pleasure. Sure, in my top 20."
Dined on 12/28/2013
We went back for more passion
fruit mojito, Paloma steak from the kid's menu, shrimp, yuca and plantains with mojo sauce. Lunch for 3 with drinks and no coffee or dessert was around $70.00 so it's not exactly budget friendly but it was close to the beach and delicious."
Dined on 12/25/2013
We made a 7:30 pm
reservation. They wanted to sit us on the busy main street. We asked to sit on the quieter side street and had to wait another half hour. Worth the wait, as the outdoor seating on the side street is quieter and better people watching. Cuban food was very good. Waiter was personable and attentive. Even taught us some Cuban dialect. Would go back to this restaurant."
Dined on 11/30/2013
I wanted authentic cuban food for
lunch adn Havana 1957 delivered an excellent Ropa Vieja that was mildly spicy and tender, just was I was craving. The staff were very helpful and efficient. Sitting out on th sidewalk allows you to have some great people watching on Espanola Way."
Dined on 12/10/2013
We arrived at the appointed time
to find the restaurant locked up tight, chairs piled on tables, and a police notice on the door. Shame in Open Rabke for allowing us to make a reservation in the first place."

A wild Saturday night. Having
never been to South Beach before let alone on a full moon I had little idea what I was in for. Parking was seamless, right across the street, unbelievable. Total beginners luck. We had a reservation and jostled with patrons waiting to fill tables. Some confusion with the hostess and manager getting people seated. It was a lively, friendly wait on the busy sidewalk. Got a table right in the middle of it all. The waitstaff was mostly attentive and everyone was very friendly. The food was really good especially the chicken, the house specialty."
Dined on 11/16/2013
Our wishes regarding the seats
were taken into account and we had great service."
Dined on 11/17/2013
The restaurant was recommended by
our front desk person at the hotel. We wanted "Cuban". It's on a busy corner in the old Spanish district. The restaurant was busy. The inside was like turning back the time to Havana 1957, hence the name... Food was plentiful and good. The pricing was reasonable (for a south beach restaurant). The wait staff was quick and efficient. Cocktails were good, especially the flavored Mohitas. We knew going in that we were not going to a 5 star restaurant, we wanted something with atmosphere, good food and Cuban authentic. We got that at Havana 1957."

Vibrant indoor/outdoor restaurant
venue. Great Cuban cuisine."

The Food was absolutely delicious
and the spot was so cute and loved the location on Espanola Way!!"
Dined on 10/22/2013
If you are looking for great Cuban
food in a unique setting this is your place. We may have had an "off night" for the waiter. Who was apologetic. Ropa Vieja and Bistec Encebollado were excellent along with the appetizer of tostones relleno de cameron."
Dined on 10/22/2013
Havana 1957 offered authentic
Cuban cuisine! The food was amazing! My girlfriend and I had the Roast chicken and the Camarones Al Ajillo, and it was so fulfilling and amazing. The spices and the sauces were delicious! Delicious Mango Mojitos!! The outdoor seating was extraordinary and made us feel as if we were dining in Havana, Cuba! Can’t wait to visit again!"

We had a large group of family and
they took great care of us!"
Dined on 10/20/2013
if u don't feel like hopping a cab
to calle ocho for cuban food, this will suffice. the food we had was good, but the atmosphere felt a little like a cuban tgifs. service was so-so."
