Diner Reviews
  • "I'll stick to other Miami Cuban restaurants such as Sergio's and La Carreta. This attempt to commercialize Cuban food, along with waiters in stereotypical "Cuban attire" was mediocre at best. We will stick to our regular Cuban eats before we go back."

  • "Decent food, terrible service, food took extremely long to come out. I will not go back."

  • "WENT FOR LUNCH ON SUNDAY. THEY DIDN'T HAVE MY RESERVATION MADE ON OPEN TABLE. WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS. I HAD TO RETURN MY APPETIZER BECAUSE IT WAS COLD. BUT THE WAITRESS AND THE MANAGER WERE VERY NICE. THEY BROUGHT US A NEW ONE IMMEDIATELY. THE MAIN ENTREE WAS GOOD BUT WE CAN FIND BETTER DISHES WITH A BETTER LATIN TASTE ON A LATIN DELI MARKET ANYWHERE IN MIAMI. THE MOJITO WAS GOOD. THE SERVICE WAS GOOD."

  • "The restaurant is decorated accordingly to the theme "Havana in the 1950's). The service was very slow and the food left much to desire; nothing special like any other Cuban restaurant."

  • "Great Havana experience--food was okay. Was recently at Havana Harry's which is incredible food wise. Would be great to combine the two."

  • "Except for the chicken soup, the food was cold. The fried pork chunks were hard. Except for the booths, tables are too small for more than two diners thus crowding plates, glasses, drinks, etc. on the table making it an uncomfortable dining experience."

  • "Deep rooted into the past of Cubans. It shows an innocence of what it must have been like to be in the Cuba of the past. I think the theme was awesome."

  • "We went to celebrate our anniversary and had great experience, our server was very attentive to our questions. Even when I didn't like the Mojito that I had ordered, the manager came and made sure I was happy with another drink. The price of the food is very reasonable and have a good selection. They even have a live playing which was an extra bonus. "

  • "We arrived for our reservation and opted to sit outside. Despite plenty of tables, the hostess attempted to seat us behind an open door where servers came in and out. Hostess acted like she didn't want to move us. We had an adorable waitress who spoke a little English. She suggested the sampler appetizer. After that we ended up having a few more mojitos, a mango daiquiri (it wasn't as sweet as I'd hoped), and the tres leches for dessert. Then it rained but the awning didn't cover us. We picked up the table ourselves and moved it so most of it was covered. No one even asked us if we were ok. I'd hoped it was more of an authentic Cuban restaurant, esp since we were in Miami, instead it just felt like Cuba Libre another Cuban chain."

  • "The food here was so delicious! Great traditional Cuban food with an intriguing decor and substantial outdoor seating. The waitress even asked the kitchen to bring us something not on the menu. A great spot for that casual upscale place you are looking for. "

  • "How to start.... well we arrived at the restaurant and they said I didn't have a reservation (we were 12 people) imagine... and I have my open table confirmation with me... Thankfully they have a table to fit us. However the service was really bad only 1 waitress was with us and in various occassions they gave us the wrong dish. In the other hand the food was great.... If I have food from there again it will be placing the order via the phone and picking up - they took forever to gave us the bill and they also include items in the wrong bill (we asked for split billings). Overall all 12 agreed the food was good but is not worth to go there again."

  • "I booked for a group of 10 and when we arrived at Havana 1957 the hostess appeared unaware of our reservation. They threw together some tables outside which was fine but treated as a more of an inconvenience than guest at their restaurant."

  • "Good Cuban restaurant. A little hard to find. GPS address is South Miami not Brickell Ave. Great selection of rums. Sangria (white) was delicious."

  • "First, let me say, the ambience is terrific. There were live musicians playing salsa which was very nice. The Cuban Combo appetizer with fried yuca, tamale, croquetas and papa rellena tasted great. I ordered the grilled chicken breast with white rice and sweet plantains (instead of the black beans). My dish was rather bland. The chicken could have used more seasoning. The churrasco my fiancé ordered wasn't cooked to his request. He didn't bother asking it to be cooked more; he didn't even take the leftovers home. He was also disappointed with the beans. He said the beans at Pollo Tropical are better. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for the food. However, I do suggest this spot for live entertainment and tropical drinks."

  • "This was my second visit to this spot and it was a sgood as the first. The food is very authentic Cuban, the service is terrific and the prices are very reasonable (especially the $5 mojito during happy hour) My wife had the Chop Chop Cuban slad which was perfect for her, while I had Churrasco a la Cubana which is grilled flank steak with sauteed onions served with white rice and black beans. Both entrees were delicious as was the dessert where we had the Tres Leche. The service was very friendly and professional, we believe that this is their 4th location and they are handling the expansion very well. The ambience is very cool, a throwback to Havana in 1957. A good meal, professionally served in a cool setting with fair prices."
