  • "It was our second time and we have recommended your place to our friends. Short and sweet the night was great. I thought one dish stood out as a bit of a sore thumb. The beef tenderloin kabobs or skewers were lackluster. Maybe an upgrade to a big metal skewer with big chunks. Perhaps something other than tenderloin too. All the other food we ate was delicious and we will be back. Happy Independence day."

  • "We couldn't have had a better date night! The food was great, we got the Gnocci and Ahi appetizers, then split the cabobs, so good! My only comment would be to order red meats one cooking option up, i.e. order Medium if you like Medium Rare. The amount of food was just right. We will definitely be back soon."

  • "My husband and went there for our weekly Friday lunch. Haven't been there before and wanted to try something new. I will not be going back. We both had the same thing. French dip and french onion soup. The meat on the sandwich was half cooked and was cold. The bread tasted odd and the soup tasted like someone poured a pound of sugar in it. The only thing that was good were the french fries. The meal was expensive and services was kinda slow. Definitely not going back."

  • "I have never been rushed out of a restaurant in my life! We were a group of six for a going away party and at the 1 hour 44 minute mark we were being advised to hurry along and we wouldn't have time for dessert. We were them offered dessert menus but when we declined dessert after all we were asked to go. Unbelievable. The food was good although too heavy for a summer time meal-more befitting for winter time. Ambience dark and noisy. I probably won't go back. Food, service, and parking is better elsewhere for the price."

  • "This restaurant operated solely in Eagle River (~12 miles outside of Anchorage) and was consistantly excellent. Not sure why it moved but what ever worked in Eagle River obviously didn't get packed during the move to Anchorage. Decided to try the new spot and our experience was mediocre (chalked up to recently opened), went back about 6 weeks later and EVERYTHING was slow, however food was better than the first visit. Went back for the third time and with the exception of a friendly bartender, the service was really slow, forgotten drink orders and the most glowing review of the 10 folks dining with me regarding their meal was "It's OK"."

  • "We used to go to Haute Quarter Grill when it was in Eagle River. A few years ago they moved from Eagle River to downtown Anchorage. This was our first time at Haute Quarter Grill after the move. The ambiance was more upscale than it was in ER. The food was just as good and the service was actually much better than before. Overall we were very pleased. The Desserts are to die for so when you eat here, save some room for it !!"

  • "Have eaten here a few times the food is consistently amazing. The only problem has been staff. Saturday night may have been a deal breaker for me the waiter seemed annoyed from the start, when I asked the price of special treated us very unprofessionally. The meal was great even though we had to ask for water and never got bread. We had one cocktail and left and had dessert at Simons. Love the resturant, it's beautifully designed, but don't enjoy the bill being dropped on the table and a smug "here's the damage". So if we go again it won't be for a special occasion but for dinner. Which is a pity."

  • "This is by far my favorite restaurant! I had the filet mignon special. It was the best I have ever had! The filet was cooked perfectly (I asked for medium) with a veal reduction, bearnaise butter and crispy fried onions on top. It was served with garlic mashed potatoes, spinach and broccoli. The flavors were amazing as well as the service! The food came out quickly, even on a busy Saturday night! Delicious!!! Can't wait to go back!!"

  • "This was the second time I've had Kobe beef in a restaurant and I was very pleased. As a wholesale food buyer very knowledgeable in the food industry, I am familiar with the special breeding and ratings of Kobe Beef. It is renowned to be tender and flavorful and the way Haute Quarter prepared it was perfect... it was exactly how I asked. My wife had the Copper River Red salmon and it was perfectly prepared as well. It pared nicely with a glass of their house Chardonnay. Definitely a wonderful evening to celebrate my birthday."

  • "Started with a unique spicy pepper dip for the excellent bread. Recipe's a secret, but worth asking... I had half of a roasted duck, perfectly seasoned and nicely presented. Partner had beautiful scallops with a very nice, piquant sauce. Finished with an ethereal Napoleon and good, full-bodied coffee. For the quantity of food and its quality, prices are good. Offer a good wine list from $ to $$$. Service was friendly and attentive. "

I'm guessing our order got misplaced after numerous people who arrived after us were getting their food before us. The waitress did give us complimentary dessert which was nice. We would go back as this seemed uncharacteristic and otherwise was a very enjoyable experience. "
