  • "I had a very good experience. Used open table to make a reservation for 2. Quick easy and very user friendly. We arrived 10 minutes early and was able to be seated. Stoked! Restruant was great... food was excellent. We actually had a very Awesome server, (Mark) i think... who not only was very nice and effienct. Took extra time to discuss menu items and wine selections. impressed."

  • "The food was great and we'd like to go again but it was so loud (on a Thursday night) that we couldn't hear each other to hold a conversation."

  • "Haute Quarter Grill was fantastic when it was in Eagle River. This new location has made it even better. Gorgeous decor, fantastic atmosphere, and the the food is to die for. I can't wait to go back. "

  • "I have eaten at the Eagle River restaurant before.not sure if this location is still working the bugs out, but the food was not up to the standard I had expected from previous meals. The vegetables were fairly undercooked. Two people at my table requested their prime rib rare and were told medium rare was prob the best the chef could do, which is disappointing considering the price and reputation of the restaurant. I would expect a high enough quality cut of meat that could be served rare as requested. The two pieces did not come out rare as the server had forewarned. Besides this the dining experience was fine."

  • "This was my first experience at the Haute Quarter Grill and I didn't know what to expect, but I was more than pleased. The service was great and the food was just outstanding. My only complaint was that we were seated next to the kitchen and although it was fun to watch the chefs at work it was uncomfortably hot. I would recommend it and will definitely eat there again."

  • "We were a large party looking for a place to have a nice birthday dinner for a friend. Since they don't open till 4pm I was able to go online and make reservations on their website, which was so easy! And they had room for our large party of 15-20! I included a note it was for a bday and they put little confetti on the tables it was perfect. The food was great and the service! Even with our large group our server was excellent. Overall great night and experience. (We are from Eagle River so have always loved Haute Quarter, but this was my first time in the new building and it looks so good!)"

  • "The food was great and our waiter, Mark was entertaining, efficient, attentive and pleasant. He made great recommendations on what to order. He made us feel relevant during the experience. We enjoyed our dinner and we recommend it to anyone. We will definitely bring visitors here this summer."

  • "My wife and I have been frequent guests at HQ for years. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, moderately priced, look no further that HQ. Food is consistently excellent -- especially the duck! Portions are generous -- unfortunately, given the fact that desserts are a delight. Seasonal specialties help make repeat visits a fresh event. Ample selection of wine and premium beers. Oh, and the wait staff make you feel as if you're dining at D.Abbie."

  • "Same menu basically as the old location in Eagle River but the interior of this location is gorgeous. The food was great as always! They have added some really fun new drinks and appetizers. The bar seems like a perfect place to meet up with friends for a few drinks and apps. Awesome."

  • "The well appointed bar did not have Permafost Vodka which my wife enjoys. It is an Alaska Vodka and should be on hand."

  • "I miss Haute Quarter Grill when it moved out of Eagle River, but the new location in downtown Anchorage is very modern and cozy and the food is still excellent. Many favorites are still on the menu."

  • "It was a very busy night before the symphony and the noise level was more than energetic, it was hard to have a conversation with our dinner companions. We all had great food and good wine, but I might pick an evening that wouldn't be so busy."

  • "The food was fantastic, the restaurant was beautiful, it was easily one of the best meals I have had in Anchorage in a long time! If there were any drawbacks I would say some of the speciality harder alcohol drinks on the menu were a bit pricy....but everything else on there was on par with the rest of Anchorage and they have a great menu! Everyone in a party should be able to find something they like. The gnocchi appitizer was great, blackerned prime rib and filet were melt i the mouth and the desert was to die for! We will go back!"

  • "First time back here since they moved from Eagle River. Outside very unassuming, nice little bar area with a couple tables, the restaurant seating is varied, small booths, larger booths, tables, and a large table near the kitchen. I was here with my sister for dinner, seated promptly in a small booth. I'm big, booth was a bit tight, I'd ask for a table in future visits. Booths feel private, I'm 6'6" and couldn't see or hear what my neighbors were talking about. Waiter was very energetic about the specials, we skipped appetizers, drinks were prompt and good. My sister had a salad- minus tomatoes which wasn't a problem and she liked it. I had ribs, I enjoy these ribs, good serving, great plum rub, and very tender. We'll definitely come back."

  • "This resturant for the dollar amount does not have an equal in Anchorage! The food is five star quality the staff is awesome and the menu is spectacular! The duck confit is well renown in the area as the best appetizer! The setting is great small and quaint, but also very classy. Located 425 West 4th Ave the Haute Quarter Grille is a GEM! I highly recommend it for any occasion!"

  • "Alaska seafood was great--scallops, halibut, etc. The seared ahi appetizer was beautifully cooked, but the tuna itself tasted watery, as if it had finished thawing out moments ago. Waiter forgot to bring side salad we ordered, but atoned by bringing dessert on the house. We picked a strawberry napoleon, beautifully flaky and delicious. We'll go back."

  • "Our party of 6 people had a very unpleasant experience at your restaurant last Saturday night. However, the food was good and since you are a new establishment we hope you can correct these mistakes so we will return. I made a reservation through Open Table. There was some confusion and we ended up waiting 20 minutes to be seated. Our waitress told us about the specials but did not give the prices; we had to ask. We ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts and coffee. Our bill was substantial. Immediately after paying our bill our waitress asked us to leave because people were waiting for our table. How incredibly rude! None of us could remember ever being asked to leave for this reason."

  • "This is a good addition to the Anchorage resaturant scene. The service started out at a very high level and then by the end it simply good service. This may be because we were there 3 1/2 hours. The length of the stay was because of the conversation...not missteps by the restaurant. The only thing I would say as a negative was the prices for the bottles of wine were a little high. Not too atrocious...but a little high. Good food, relaxing atmosphere...definitely a place that goes on our short list for date night worthy."

  • "Made a reservation for a Saturday date with my husband. We had high expectations based on previos reviews and our friends from E.R. Arrived 5min before our reservation time, then had to wait 25min to get seated. Luckily there were seats at the bar. Bar staff and menu was fantastic. When finally seated at our table, the service was fair at best. We ordered the specials and then had to wait another 20min to get the salads/bread. About 3 bites into the salad, our entrees arrived. The food is great here. I wish a properly timed meal would have allowed us to enjoy it. Overall, the bar and food are great but like most Anchorage establishments, the service needs help. We'll go back again, with lower expectations next time, and maybe with our kids."

  • "Relatively new restaurant to Anchorage, relocated from Eagle River. We always eat at the bar so I can't speak to quality of table service but it looks to be as good. Well prepared food, generous portions, always served hot. I can recommend the baby back ribs. Generous wine pours, especially if you can distract bartender's attention during the pour :-)"

  • "We do our rounds with the fine dining scene in Anchorage and I have to admit that we never leave Haute Quarter disappointed. The food and service are always fantastic and come with a price tag that's completely reasonable. However, its their bar menu that really drives it home. I don't drink much, so when we go out its nice to have a menu that's all around satisfying, They have a great selection of beers and wines in addition to their cocktail menu, so there's something for every occasion. As far as the atmosphere goes, Haute Quarter is the perfect blend of fine and casual dining. It's a great place to grab dinner and drinks after work or to enjoy a relaxing date night. I would definitely recommend Haute Quarter for any occasion."

  • "This was our first time and we we're pleasantly surprised. The food and drinks were fantastic! Our server was very attentive, though on the quiet side, for as energetic and lively as the restaurant was. Once the restaurant filled up, it became quiet noisy and energetic, kind of like a Bistro vibe. We're looking for our next excuse to be downtown! This is on the "A" list of downtown restaurants! You will not be disappointed."

  • "We had a earlier reservation for 430pm since my wife was flying out later that evening. ( it started snowing around 6pm and she had a 5-hour delay at Ted Stevens.)We could see the restaurant gradually filling up and by the time we left (620pm) there was a sizable line waiting to be seated. This says a lot about the Haute's popularity. My wife had the halibut special and I tried the filet mignon special and both were "indescribably delicious." The beer selection was modest but adequate. I tried a whiskey flight and was pleased with the three selections. Dessert was wonderful--something we rarely order but were intrigued and tempted to try because of the incredible entrees. I ordered Bananas Foster and my wife was thrilled with her Napoleon."
