HarvestRelaxing enjoyable eveningWe went to Harvest on Mothers' day evening. The ambiance was lovely, and the service attentive and gracious. The main courses were very nicely presented and cooked to order - however, the menu selections for main courses were a bit scarce. Portion sizes were generous - and desserts (while wonderful looking at the next table) were huge! In this day and age - perhaps slightly smaller portions would be appreciated by many diners - but all and all - one certainly gets one's money's worth.
We will go back - it is a welcoming and warm environment - very thoughtful and friendly staff.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOur dinner at Harvest wasOur dinner at Harvest was predictably wonderful in every way!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the Spa MenuHad the spa menu Pekin duck ... excellent. Also had the special soft shell crab on a biscuit. Yummy. Others had swordfish and mussels. All was well prepared and service was spot on.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent locally sourced foodMy wife and I have been to Harvest twice now, both times for special occasions, and both experiences have been excellent. My wife is a vegetarian and can often have difficulty finding good options (she's had more pasta primaveras than you can shake a stick at, and is always looking for something a little more invigorating). This time around she had the fennel soup and the riccotta gnudi, and I had the special which was opah fish. Both of our meals were simply divine. Everything was marvelously prepared and plated, and the server did an excellent job of attending to our questions and needs. Flavors were well balanced and sophisticated. The atmosphere is very calming and engaging at Harvest, too. We will definitely be coming back!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Local FoodThe specials for the evening were all tempting, but I finally chose the walleye. It was excellent. The hangar steaks were cooked to order and tender. A number of the diners, like us, had just come from the St Louis Symphony, including the Conductor. Seemed like the right place to be on a Sunday evening after a wonderful concert.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBread puddingOne of our favorite places. The my teenagers call the bread pudding "a big bowl of AWESOME."4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMHarvest is one of our favoriteHarvest is one of our favorite restaurants in St. Louis. The food is consistently very good. On our recent visit, the service was a little slow, but we will definitely be back soon.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe hadn't been to harvestWe hadn't been to harvest in a few years. We had a wonderful meal. Will be back soon. Everything was great.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLove itLove the ambiance. Very good service and food every time.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMI love Harvest, but I wasI love Harvest, but I was a little sad when I tasted the Fois Gras. When I had it last, probably close to a year ago..it was different, I can't remember how ? This was served on a waffle, with heavy blueberry sauce....I could not even taste the wonderful liver. The sauce was so overpowering. It would have been great with ice cream for dessert, but for this appetizer it did not hit the mark...and at $16- even more. The grass fed steak was great, and such a nice surprise to see a grass/flax seed steak on the menu'. Once you have grass fed beef, it is so hard to go back. We love Harvest, and Jenny is the best server ever. It is so hard to find a restaurant that does good Fois Gras...please return to the old style.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe can't get enough!Thursday nights are date nights for my wife and I, and we love trying new restaurants, but so often we find ourselves returning to Harvest. The menu changes seasonally, ensuring that we'll be able to choose from several new items, and it's always delicious. I've gotten the duck entree the past two times we've come, each time slightly different but equally incredible. The cocktail menu features fun twists on classics, there's an extensive wine list, and the various appetizers will tempt you to get more than one. Of course, for dessert, the bread pudding must not be missed! Add to all this the fact that the menu is predominantly locally-sourced and I'd all but guarantee that you'll leave feeling great!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've celebrated our weddingWe've celebrated our wedding anniversary many times at this fine restaurant.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSolid. You can always countSolid. You can always count on Harvest for a great meal.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent, startingFood was excellent, starting with the cauliflower soup, and organic greens salad. I had the swordfish, and my husband had the flank steak - both excellently prepared. I would definitely go back. We didn't have time for dessert - but their bread pudding is the best.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is always difficult toIt is always difficult to find a good dining location requiring reservations on a Sunday evening. However, after having experienced Harvest, I can say more in its favor than just that. The food was fresh and well proportioned. The service was informative and engaged in their tasks. The meal lasted two hours but it felt more like 30 minutes. I would recommend Harvest as a dining location to anyone looking for a quality meal in a special location. The meal was itself pricey, but clearly well worth the expense.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat fresh local ingredients.Great fresh local ingredients. Delicious and creatively executed. I would definately return!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThey use local fresh foods. They use local fresh foods. We enjoyed the overall atmosphere and had a wonderful time with great service.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEntrees are tasty but itsEntrees are tasty but its a somewhat limited fresh menu (1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 duck, 1 pasta, several seafood, etc). The desserts were made with fresh ingredients but we didnt care for them (milk stout ice cream sandwich and chocolate puff pastries)4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAtmosphere, food and serviceAtmosphere, food and service were outstanding! We definitely will be back!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've been to Harvest countlessWe've been to Harvest countless times and they never cease to impress. The food was great, our waitress was wonderful, very friendly and knowledgeable, the only thing was that the kitchen was a little slow.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster BrunchAs usual, the food was good. We felt the brunch was very limited and over-priced. We enjoyed the Easter brunch, but would have like to have had more "lunch" type items. Some of the portions were small for the price. Harvest is still one of our favorite places, maybe just not for brunch.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were very impressed withWe were very impressed with the Easter brunch we had there. The waitress was very sweet too!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Harvest. We had great, friendly service. The menu offers unique and varied dishes. The Charcuterie Board (meats, cheeses, breads)was a delicious starter. The main course was as visually appealing as it was to the palate! It is far from ordinary fare. The meal was capped off with the bread pudding, which is to die for!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe Celebrate my birthday atWe Celebrate my birthday at Harvest, The food is superlative, the service great and unobtrusive. We appreciate the attention to detail and the reliance on local providers. Food is interesting and varied. I've never been disappointed. It is a little pricey and we tend to go here only when we have a gift certificate.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ONLY thing wrong was theThe ONLY thing wrong was the small two seater table, that was very close to the wall, and uncomfortable. The food was outstanding. They had a grass fed /and flax seed fed ribeye, that was the best steak we ever had. This was a special that we hope to see on the menu always. You can't beat Jenny as a server, she is simply the best.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
