Diner Reviews
  • "It has been a couple of years since our last visit. A beautiful setting on a summer night. The outdoor cocktail/tables areas was very messy and dirty. Food on ground in the the patio benches and tables area. We asked to have it cleaned but no one bothered to come back to clean. Our dinner table was perfect overlooking the hudson river except two of the four menus were dirty with pasta sauce and had to be cleaned. The food was average for the prices on the menu. One fish dish was inedible (they did take it off our bill). The three other dishes were fine but nothing special for the price. The menu seems to be tired and needs to be updated. I expect a better experience based on the cost of the meal. Hopefully just an off night."

  • "Customers from multiple tables walked to busing stations and poured their own water while waiters chatted with each other!"

  • "Never been there before and it had everything...even pizza! There were families with kids and couples out for a special occasion. Great setting and wonderful views. Go for the sunset. Food was outstanding with excellent variety and a wide range of choices. The herb and vegetable gardens are a nice touch. Everything was fresh!"

  • "One of our favorite restaurants. Greeat food, service and the views in the warmer weather are outstanding."

  • "Fabulous views, worth the visit just for the photo-ops. The Sfizi, small starter plates were ok, garlic shrimp unremarkable but fine. The bacala fritters with aioli were tastier. My zuppa di pesce was closer to very good but my wife's pasta with lobster special was modest in portion size and inexplicably seasoned with hot red pepper, which should have been mentioned if it was actually an intended ingredient. My daughter had the Venetian crustacean gnocchi which she liked. The chocolate desserts were terrific, coffee was very good, service throughout was attentive, personable and engaging. Nice touch of "Happy Birthday" in chocolate sauce on my wife's dessert plate. All in all it was a satisfying experience. We'll return for sure."

  • "I have been here a few times and it is always very good BUT I have never been able t sit outside. We werwe told to come 1/2 hour early but there was still a 45 minute wait. It would be nice to reserve an outside table."

  • "I've been to Harvest many, many times. However in the past the wait service presented a more warm and friendly attitude, like they were your wait service only. This time each person that visited our table could have been a cyborg. Dry and distant waould describe the feeling our waiter, Ceasar, presented. Technically the service would have been 10 out of 10 except: 1) Ceasar was hard to understand and when we asked him to repeat some things he got a little frustrated and didn't like to have to repeat2) We were were approachhed by a waitress, presented with a dessert menu and asked what we like no more than 5 minutes after they took our dinner plates away. I had to tell her we'd like to finish our drinks first"

  • "We were immediately seated at a comfortable table and within two minutes, water and drink orders were taken. Bread was delivered soon after. We were never rushed and the food was excellent. Not a single complaint regarding appetizers, mains or desserts. Highly enjoyable. There was a samba / bossa nova trio playing quietly not far from the table and it added such wonderful ambiance to the entire evening. Harvest has never once let us down and seems to keep getting better with each dining experience."

  • "Everything but the fact that we requested a table towards the water and was denied one was of high standards. Upon entry to the restaurant we were greeted by serveral hostesses who decided to seat us at a table mid restaurant rather than at the edge near the water as requested. While there were actually many tables available of the same size in that location, we were told they were reserved, despite the fact that they remained empty at the time of our departure. It was a bit of a disappointment as this was a celebration for the two of us and I'm sorry it ended up that way."

  • "Having eaten at Harvest - not surprising to expect good food. However, each time I walk away saying - that was better than the last time. Fantastic food! Both my friend and I were totally pleased with our options. My friend had some difficulty choosing from the menu - staff helped in a really nice way. Food seemed fancy, much more than basic and could be a bit pricy - but totally worth it!! A really easy place to have a slow meal!"

  • "The food is good. The draw however is the outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the Hudson. Would therefore recommend this on a nice day and hold out for the outside seating. You can get there early and have appetizers/pizza outside (which is a different menu) as you wait for your table if they don't happen to have outside seating available for dinner. The area reserved for drinks and light food is right next to the dining area and the view is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and attentive."

  • "Waited 25 minutes to place a coktail order on a thursday night. Finally had to get up to find a waiter. Nice place, but the food was sub par. The duck was tasteless and the pork was over cooked. For all the voluminous wine selection touted, wine by the glass was very limited and less than interesting. Won't go back too soon."

  • "Harvest on Hudson has a gorgeous view if the weather is just perfect. The food is decent, but nothing special- pricey for what it is. It's great to sit outside and admire the Hudson. The wait staff was extremly nice and pleasant. We recently took our kids for their graduations. The waitress could not have been nicer-- she told us they had a children's menu (Verbal) and she also gave them free refills on their shirley temples. It was a warm evening, and although we tried to sit in the shade, the sun was beaming down on us, even at 7pm-- this of course was not the restaurants fault, but there are not very many tables in the shade. My meal was fine, but nothing special and not worth the price."

  • "Harvest is wonderful in summer - like Napa Valley on the Hudson. But it's also lovely in winter - warm yet spacious interior"

  • "Can't say enough about the overall experience of dining at Harvest On Hudson. We were a large party of 14, which could have created a problem, but staff (Coleen, in particular) executed the meal flawlessly. Both the appetizers and entrées were very satisfying and tasty. The ambience is cozy, yet energetic, no small feat when you consider just how large the main room is. A very lovely view of the Hudson river is offered, as well. In a jampacked, nine day vacation sojourn, my girlfriend indicated that this evening was the highlight of her trip."

  • "And the food is good, with interesting selections."

  • "great scenic location. food quality way short of what this restaurant is capable of. Halibut was farm raised and previously frozen, inedible. sent back to the kitchen and replaced by a rigatoni pasta that was just OK. Pasta served as an entrée, was so small it was less than an appetizer portion at the price of an entrée. Beet and goat cheese salad was refreshing. Arugala salad was like grazing on straw. We would only recommend this restaurant for the sunset view and cocktails."

  • "Starters were so big, they could have been entrees! Service and food was five star, and I certainly will be back before long!"

  • "I have been here several times and have been more enchanted each time. The rustic feel and the farm to table menu never disappoints this foodie. The property in which the restaurant resides is hidden away in a breathtaking panoramic view of the majestic Hudson River. Try the dates and the mortadella meatballs with a glass of Cotes du Rhone. Take a stroll through the vegetable and flower garden and a deep breath of the Hudson River Valley. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants that I have ever been to."

  • "Very noisy. I had halibut which was very dry. My daughter sent bak her pizza which was like melted cheese on a pizza- no very good but expensive. Would not got back any time soon. setting is great."

  • "We always go back to Harvest thinking we had a better experience the last time we came than we actually did. The location and facility are great and I think that memory influences our impression of the overall experience. The food just never lives up to expectations. Somewhere in the middle of the meal we always recall that we had that same feeling the last time we came."

  • "My dad and I decided to go out for dinner, we were both so glad that we chose this particular resturant, the service was amazing the food and drinks were great. We will deafinatly stop by again."

  • "This time the experience was much improved from last time. The food, drinks were a lot better prepared. They still have an issue with the air-conditioner situation. It is either on (and very cold) or off (and very hot). I wish they could find a happy medium setting - perhaps if the air conditioner unit was in the ceiling instead of the side walls it would work more efficiently."

  • "I know this is a vers popular place because its by the water and is lovley restaurant, but this is the 2nd time i have been here and the food was average at best. They gave us a table near the waiters station.. not a fan. I would probablly only return to sit ouside on the patio for drinks and bar menu."

  • "This is such a beautiful restaurant.Unfortunately the food does not complement the view.First the good, one person in our party had the pork which was very good. That is it for the good. Now for the bad.The appetizers were very very small for the price and not very good. We had the fried dough with martedella&barraro cheese (we thought it was more like a calazone). We were very wrong. The shrimp in garlic was average.Main courses were just a disaster...filet mignon was ordered medium and it came out raw. Had to send it back two times. The halibut was extremely fishy, that went back and then the side of fries had enough salt on them to give anyone high blood pressure. Then once we complained the wait staff avoided us for the rest of the night."

  • "We ate at Harvest for what was suppossed to be a special evening celebrating with family. The service was terrible and so was the food. Not at all what we expected for that kind of money. I will never return. I even called and left a message for the manger to call me back to tell about our experience"

  • "Four of us had dinner. Two very much enjoyed their dinners. My husband and I had a pasta special with scallops and it was the first bad meal I've ever had HHH. Could barely find the scallops and the pasta sauce was not to our liking. Our waitress wasn't well informed and couldn't explain our dish well or we would not have had it.. She never left us alone. And always asking if we wanted something and constantly interrupting conversation."

  • "We have been to Harvest many times, and have always enjoyed it. The most recent meal was something of a disappointment. The menu has been pared down and is very limited. My wife had a hard time finding anything to order. The food took an enormous time to come out. So long in fact that the manager took our first course off the bill. The restaurant has beautiful outdoor space by the Hudson, but they seemed overwhelmed by the crowd enjoying a rare nice day. We will go back, but only because we know the place so well."

  • "This was just one of many times I've eaten at Harvest, several of them for special occasions such as birthdays. My only disappointment was that we couldn't dine outdoors. It was a gorgeous evening & although we came early the wait was prohibitive. Will have to try again in the near future at a less busy time. Food is reliably good as is the service most often. And the scenery & surroundings can't be beat."

  • " The atmosphere and food here is always 5 star. I brought my mother in law and two young toddlers for a special dinner and the staff treated us great. Don't miss the house cured salumi and the selection of cheeses."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful and the setting is by far one of the best in Westchester. I ordered the halibut dish, and was very disappointed. It tasted and smelled fishy and the sauce was uninteresting. Very disappointed in my choice, although those dining with me thoroughtly enjoyed the pork loin."
