Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed the tasting menu and salad. The panacota was amazing as was the service. We had a great time."

  • "When my husband and I drove up to the restaurant, I was greeted by the dumpster filled with garbage. Not quite the picturesque scene I envisioned. surprised that there was no valet to park the car. The garden was quite beautiful and our table was nice but I would hv preferred to be away from the loud screeching sound of the train. The waiter was very friendly but didn't know if the fish was wild caught or not and didn't explain what some some of the items on the menu were. But he was very personable. The food took a long time to come to the table but when it finally did, it was very tasty and hot. My cod was a bit small for the hefty price. Overall, it's a beautiful place. Would I come back, maybe."

  • "The entire experience, as many times before, was excellent. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the service throughout was excellent, and the quality and quantity of dishes was well chosen. This is a very good bet for a very fine evening out. Get there early if you wish to sit outside on their terrace facing the Hudson as that is first come first served."

  • "Specials was no longer available, next our wives order a fish special that was to be filleted they brought the whole fish and our waiter and the bus boy began to fillet the fish next to the table and served to our wives and said be careful there may be bones in the fish, the waiter told us that the chief was too busy to fillet our fish dinners and that was the way it was. The manager who was helpful but somewhat condescending he did take the uneatable dinners off the bill. The way we were treated by what I thought was a fine restaurant with excellent service, was absolutely awful!"

  • "Harvest on the Hudson is one of my favorite dining venues. It is scenic and beautiful both inside and out. The food has changed as the menu and I don't know if I just ordered wrong or if it is changed. The burrata appetizer was delicious, pork tenderloin good, the sea bass and shell fish all over cooked and the broth was tasteless. Been here so many times and this was the first time that I can not give it a perfect rating. Service was slow but the staff apologized for it, it was extremely crowded that night."

  • "The only thing going for this place is the view. It's old and crowded and loud AND THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE!!!"

  • "I read a few negative comments about Harvest but I decided to try it for myself. I went for price fixed lunch on a Friday. The food was good but not enough, the octopus entrée which I paid $14 was not worth the price. It was sliced very thin and maybe (5) pieces. My wife's frittata looked like it was one scrambled egg cut in half with a few pieces of lettuce. I asked if they had seafood and the waitress said they only had codfish, it was also a very small piece. She seemed bored and only once did she stop by to ask how we were doing. I had to ask another waitress for another glass of wine. The person that cleaned off the plates, brought the water and coffee deserved the tip, she was great!! She always checked on us. Only ambience, period."

  • "A shame beautiful place. Great food. But service is inexcusable BAD. Management should really train its wait staff and really improve their Service. Food very slow coming out of kitchen then poorly served Took forever to get a martini, order, etc.... Just not professional when food is terrific and so is view D"

  • "The food was good, but I felt the choices for seafood dishes could have been more varied. The desserts were excellent and the wine was good. Overall the experience was good. The jazz made the evening special. The setting on the Hudson River was beautiful. Well prepared dishes."

  • "Small plates were very tasty; get there in time for sunset. No need to dress up too much."

  • "Food has greatly improved since my last visit leading me to believe they have a new chef. The waiter confirmed my suspicion by saying " I don't know how we got him". I hope they can keep him ( the chef ) for awhile. Overall very good and while the service is well meaning it is a little fought around the edges."

  • "I took my father for his birthday. We each had EXCEPTIONAL pasta dishes, and the dessert options were unique and beyond delicious. Harvest on the Hudson has a menu that is delicious and the flavors are vibrant. Our waitress and the manager were professional and personal. They were friendly and fun. Highly recommend."

  • "If you are going to charge 110 for a porterhouse steak for two, it should have some flavor not Dry. The food had to be some of worst food I have tasted at an upscale restaurant. The only good thing was the view."

  • "Harvest on Hudson is a great choice for dining when you want a beautiful Vista in addition to delicious food. It's pricey! But worth it. Make sure to stroll their small garden by the entrance."

  • "Met friends here for dinner and sat on the patio (first come, first serve), watched the sunset on the Hudson which was beautiful. Food was delicious as usual, we all had specials which included an Ahi Tuna app, whole sea bass (on the bone or off) and steak pizzaiola (which my husband said he could eat every night) and a layered desert that was the perfect combination of sweet and flavorful (layers of chocolate and coffee topped with gelato). We've been here a few times and will definitely come back."

  • "I went to visit an old friend, who recommended the place. The food was very good had the special soup(cold roasted pepper) the whole broiled Dorado with Walnut Salad. She had a piece of broiled Salmon. We shared a dessert(white chocolate mousse w/lime sorbetto)not too sweet. The service was very attentive and quick. The real highlight though is the location. It is situated right on the Hudson River in Hastings. The view of the river is great and even the indoor eating area is large with candle lit seating, a very romantic setting."

  • "We've talked about going to HoH for a long time, and ended up getting a last minute resi. The view of the Hudson is top notch, and the restaurant turned out to be equally spectacular. Everything we ordered was better than its precedent - bacala fritters, bruscetta, seared tuna (over snap pea puree...yum!), and the pork cheek. The entree was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We'll be back very soon."

  • "This is the most unique, breathtaking outdoor dining you will experience...would you like to dine beneath hanging grape vines & twinkling lights? In a Tuscan herb garden? A lush vegetable garden amidst towering sunflowers? Or maybe beside a boat filled harbor? And you'd like to throw in the Palisades? Done! Service unrushed & friendly, cocktails imaginative, and the food very good. The bacalao fritters are just ok & the polenta in my Guancia entree had cooled off considerably before it was served but these aren't spoilers by any means, and will definitely return!"

  • "Really love the ambiance but the food has truly gone downhill. I wish they had not let the food quality suffer because everything else is pretty good. Both the steak and fish meals were poor. The second below average dinner we have had there is two months. Once was bad luck: twice is a trend. We won't be going back."

  • "The setting for a summer evening is beautiful and majestic. Great views on the hudson river bank. Food quality is very good. Wines are slightly pricey. Loved it. Go there regularly."

  • "We arrived early enough before our reservation to grab a table on the patio (not the garden area). We had a lovely view of the flowers and waterfront. The staff were friendly and professional. The food was delicious as always. It is pricey but good for special occasions. We definitely will be back again. The only issue I had was that the umbrella for a table that sits up to 4 people could have had a slightly bigger umbrella. Other than that it was a great evening. My friend really enjoyed it."

  • "We went to Harvest for a special occasion and were truly disappointed, especially with the service. It was a rainy Tuesday night, an 8:30 pm seating and the place was not half full. Our server acted uninterested and as if she was doing us a favor for taking our orders. She explained the complex specials so quickly that no one in our group could follow and we kept having to ask her to repeat them. Then, after we received our food, she never came by to see if we needed anything else or liked our selections. The place gives you the feeling that it is resting on its laurels. There are many high quality, less expensive restaurants in Westchester that behave as if they want your business. We are never coming back!"

  • "If you like Duck and Patte. Venison or even Filet Mignon and Fish? These something for everyone. Very good service. Sometimes a little too much / borderline intrusive however that is always better than searching for wait staff. Crab legs/ Shrimp--- Burrata is a must. Very nice place to visit a few times per year. Moderately priced in the class it competes with."

  • "I had heard great things about Harvest and was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, it fell short on many levels. The service was mediocre. It started as soon as we walked in. 3 very young looking hostesses greeted us but seemed somewhat vacant. I expected a more seasoned wait staff. We have a gluten allergy so we said this to the waitress who did make sure our food was GF. However, she never told us the specials. We overheard them from the table next to us after we ordered. the support wait staff and runners were excellent with their attentiveness and politeness. Our food was over cooked and dry. We had to send the halibut back because it was unedible. The chicken was also very dry. I expected more for the prices."

  • "Our latest visit was spectacular! When you start with the best ingredients then add creativity in the preparation and superb, attentive service you end up with Harvest on Hudson. A great spot for an outdoor dining adventure. Enjoy one of their innovative cocktails before dinner and perhaps an after dinner drink in the garden."

  • "It has been a couple of years since our last visit. A beautiful setting on a summer night. The outdoor cocktail/tables areas was very messy and dirty. Food on ground in the the patio benches and tables area. We asked to have it cleaned but no one bothered to come back to clean. Our dinner table was perfect overlooking the hudson river except two of the four menus were dirty with pasta sauce and had to be cleaned. The food was average for the prices on the menu. One fish dish was inedible (they did take it off our bill). The three other dishes were fine but nothing special for the price. The menu seems to be tired and needs to be updated. I expect a better experience based on the cost of the meal. Hopefully just an off night."

  • "Never been there before and it had everything...even pizza! There were families with kids and couples out for a special occasion. Great setting and wonderful views. Go for the sunset. Food was outstanding with excellent variety and a wide range of choices. The herb and vegetable gardens are a nice touch. Everything was fresh!"

  • "Fabulous views, worth the visit just for the photo-ops. The Sfizi, small starter plates were ok, garlic shrimp unremarkable but fine. The bacala fritters with aioli were tastier. My zuppa di pesce was closer to very good but my wife's pasta with lobster special was modest in portion size and inexplicably seasoned with hot red pepper, which should have been mentioned if it was actually an intended ingredient. My daughter had the Venetian crustacean gnocchi which she liked. The chocolate desserts were terrific, coffee was very good, service throughout was attentive, personable and engaging. Nice touch of "Happy Birthday" in chocolate sauce on my wife's dessert plate. All in all it was a satisfying experience. We'll return for sure."

  • "I have been here a few times and it is always very good BUT I have never been able t sit outside. We werwe told to come 1/2 hour early but there was still a 45 minute wait. It would be nice to reserve an outside table."

  • "I've been to Harvest many, many times. However in the past the wait service presented a more warm and friendly attitude, like they were your wait service only. This time each person that visited our table could have been a cyborg. Dry and distant waould describe the feeling our waiter, Ceasar, presented. Technically the service would have been 10 out of 10 except: 1) Ceasar was hard to understand and when we asked him to repeat some things he got a little frustrated and didn't like to have to repeat2) We were were approachhed by a waitress, presented with a dessert menu and asked what we like no more than 5 minutes after they took our dinner plates away. I had to tell her we'd like to finish our drinks first"

  • "We were immediately seated at a comfortable table and within two minutes, water and drink orders were taken. Bread was delivered soon after. We were never rushed and the food was excellent. Not a single complaint regarding appetizers, mains or desserts. Highly enjoyable. There was a samba / bossa nova trio playing quietly not far from the table and it added such wonderful ambiance to the entire evening. Harvest has never once let us down and seems to keep getting better with each dining experience."

  • "Everything but the fact that we requested a table towards the water and was denied one was of high standards. Upon entry to the restaurant we were greeted by serveral hostesses who decided to seat us at a table mid restaurant rather than at the edge near the water as requested. While there were actually many tables available of the same size in that location, we were told they were reserved, despite the fact that they remained empty at the time of our departure. It was a bit of a disappointment as this was a celebration for the two of us and I'm sorry it ended up that way."
