Diner Reviews
  • "Harvest on the Hudson was the perfect apot to celebrate my husbands birthday. Conveniently located near the metro north train so our NYC dwellers could easily join us. The ambiance was warm and attractive for a large space- enhanced by candles. The view of the Hudson River is a beautiful backdrop as well. The service was top notch, food delicious. Highly recommended! "

  • "We had such a wonderful experience at your restaurant. Everyone from the friendly hostesses that greeted us when we walked in the the very professional wait staff made our night great!"

  • "First off we got lost because you don't see the right turn to go to the restaurant because it's dark and near the train station. Beautiful restaurant but extremely loud! Very dissappointed with the menu because unless you want fish or pasta you choices are very limited. Two meat dishes and 1 chicken dish on the menu, not even chicken or veal parm was listed. I feel it was a bad choice, one I won't make again"

  • "We were very pleased with the quality of the food. Hot, flavorful and creative is how we can best describe it. Everyone was happy and satisfied on that front. The weak point was the staff. Our waiter took over 15 minutes to come by and get our drink order and we had to ask him if there were specials as he was taking our order. The water server poured water into my husbands meal instead of his water glass and never apologized. Secondly as the dinner my friend and I was sharing was brought to the table, it was never served. In fact, it was mysteriously whisked away. We found out about 15 minutes later why and only because we asked. The wait staff needs to meet the quality of the food otherwise this restaurant will not survive."

  • "Harvest on Hudson is a pretty restaurant with a great view of the Hudson River. It's spacious size makes it comfortable for groups and families without having the noise be too problematic. However, I was disappointed in the food. My dinner could have been warmer and the pasta dish that was ordered by another person was "skimpy" to be considered a main course. Their wines by the glass selection needs updating."

  • "Food - fabulous Place - beautiful Service - stinks We waited 15 minutes just to get the wine list. Then the waiter came by to take our food order and didn't ask us what we wanted to drink. I'm afraid he didn't understand my question about the specials, as I never got my entree! My two friends shared their entree while I sat there waiting for mine. My friend finally got up to go looking for a waiter, as no one was paying any attention to us. She finally found someone to come and ask me what was wrong. I never got my entree! That's what was wrong. They then had to sit and watch me eat when my entree finally arrived, which was quite fabulous. It was early Sunday evening and the place was not at all busy, so there was no excuse for such desulto"

  • "Harvest on Hudson is always a great restaurant for a special dinner with the family or friends. The food is wonderful, as is the service. And the location/view is unbeatable too - even on a rainy day."

  • "I took my wife to Harvest On Hudson for our 5th wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed it. The food was good, but the service was impeccable. The chef even made us a special, spontaneous "happy anniversary" date cake that was brought to our table as we concluded our dinner. Highly recommended!"

  • "Best restaurants ever, the food was delicious, the service was good, the ambience outstanding (I was seating next to the fireplace), and the BEST cheese sampler EVER. Thank you Harvest on Hudson."

  • "We were a group of six and the dinner could not have been more pleasant. We were gathered around a circular booth, the noise level was reasonably low and so it was easy to talk. The food was first-rate. People ordered quite a variety of entrees, and all said they liked their dishes very much. Lots of tasting was going on. Pastas, chicken, broiled salmon -- all were excellent. My wife and I had a soup special, artichoke soup, which was unusual and delicious. I can't wait to return, especially in warmer weather when you can sit outside and watch the sun set over the Hudson River."

  • "Having both been at Harvest on Hudson on many occasions, it was especially nice to be there during Restaurant Week(s) and see the unusually big crowd there for lunch. That being said, the size of the crowd did NOT in any way negatively affect the service, which was exceptional, or the quality of the prix fix lunch (also exceptional). All in all, it was delightful, as has always been my experience there, and I was especially pleased to see that in spite of the full-seating, the waiter actually waited for me to taste the wine I had ordered before pouring it for me after my "OK." That unrushed approach to service means a lot to me personally, and I found it to be particularly notable in view of the big crowd there that day."

  • "Beautiful atmosphere! The inside is rustic, charming and inviting. The outside looks fabulous - didn't get to go outside because of the weather, but will come back in the warm weather to try it out. Menu was interesting, and our dishes were fresh and tasty. Service wasn't up to par, but I can overlook it because of the beauty of the place and the tasty food!"

  • "Nice surprise that after a five-minute drive on Warburton Avenue, we find this gem of a restaurant. Went during Restaurant Week. The RW menu was extensivel, unlike others. Would definitely return for a regular dinner when the weather improves and we can really enjoy the scenic views."

  • "A friend and I had a wonderful $29 3-course dinner. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window for a lovely sunset view of the river. The food and service were very good; the only disappointments were that they were out of the tuna appetizer and date cake dessert that we had coveted. I enjoyed my risotto, salmon and huge portion of tiramisu."

  • "Went with a party of 7 during Restaurant Week. Menu selections were varied and interesting. As usual, food was superb and portions were filling. The views are exceptional, particularly during warmer weather when you can walk the grounds after eating. I highly recommend Harvest as a must place to enjoy a meal."

  • "What a find! This restaurant has amazing views of the Hudson and the best ambiance I have experienced in New York. I live in the city, so I am used to small venues..the size of this place was overwhelming (in a good way), yet our experience was still intimate. There are couches and small fires to sit by to enjoy delicious cocktails while waiting for your table. I enjoyed the gin cucumber drink, the fettucine with rabbit and the gluten-free/dairy free lemony lemon cake- so glad they had this on the menu! wonderful night."

  • "I can't really find anything bad to say about Harvest on Hudson. Everything was great -from the food to the service. The only thing I can say is that I am very glad I made a reservation because it was packed when we got there at 8:15 and it looked like a lot of people were still waiting to be seated."

  • "Great room, but still too pricey for the quality of the food."

  • "I made the reservation for my husband and myself for our anniversary. I had eaten there once before with some friends and thought the restaurant was charming and quiet- fire going in the fireplace It was restaurant week so the place was very busy and noisy. The service was excellent- the food - not as good as I remembered The soup was thin and almost tasteless- the veal was very good - the wine wonderful and the dessert was also very good I would give the restaurant another try."

  • "I've heard such great things about this place and I couldn't wait to finally go. We always go Harvest on Fort Pond in Montauk and love it. Harvest on hudson doesn't even compare. The only good thing about it was the ambience. It's beautiful inside and out, with amazing views of the Hudson. However, the food wasn't that great. It was average. Not bad, but definitely not great. And the service was HORRIBLE. Our waiter was rude. Never checked on us and never once made us feel welcomed. After the meal, I asked for a portion of my meal to be wrapped and when he came back he put the bag near my feet on the floor without even letting me know! I basically tripped on it getting up to use the restroom."

  • "Harvest on Hudson is a beautiful restaurant right on the Hudson River. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting - and the service is perfect. We were a party of four, and we ordered from the RW menu - which is quite extensive. I had the risotto appetizer and the salmon entree - both of which were very good, though not spectacular. A friend ordered the skirt steak and felt the same way. The food is presented nicely - and is certainly more than enjoyable - but it is the total experience that makes for a great evening. I definitely recommend going during RW - as they offer more choices than most other restaurants."

  • "We were part of a group of 9 for HVRW. Everything was excellent except the food. We had the minestrone and the lamb spring roll. The soup was good, but nothing special. Entrees were the skate and the beef. The skate was okay but the braised endive was very good. The beef was tender but not very flavorful. The polenta that came with it was very good. In both cases, the sides overshadowed the protein. The chocolate dessert was typical of that type, and the date cake was too sweet and sticky."

  • "It was a very enjoyable evening. Service was good, water glasses were always being refilled, food was very tasty and everyone in our party left feeling totally full and satisfied. The many selections were surprising, some other restaurants only had a selection of maybe 3 items. Thanks"

  • "We had the Restaurant Week dinner. The restaurant looks like an Italian Villa and the dining area is a high-ceiling "great hall" - one area with a tapestry on the wall. The large area is multi-level and divided into smaller areas by iron railings. Both the ambience and meal were great. We both had the soup. For main courses we had the salmon and the veal, both of which were excellent. Desserts were tiramisu and date cake. Tables were set with candles. We were there at sunset time so saw the sunset over the Hudson. We definitely will come back again. The things which might detract from a "perfect romantic evening were the lack of secluded tables, a rather high sound level and music which we felt was not terribly appropriate for the setting."

  • "This was our first time at Harvest on the Hudson. It was a perfect choice during Restaurant Week to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant location, ambiance, food and service truly exceeded our expectations and lived up to the comments we had heard aout it previously. Portions were substantioal, food was deliciously different, service was excellent and the setting beautiful. Only negative for me was that it was a little too dark. I would have preferred to see my dishes in a little more lighting."

  • "Hastings-On-The-Hudson is a gorgeous dining venue - the historic interior and the scenie view make for a comfortable and compelling atomosphere. We visited during Restaurant Week. Unlike some of the restaurants, HOTH offered an extensive list of choices. Love the spring roll app and the date cake for dessert! Thanks for taking care of our party of five."

  • "Harvest may be the prettiest restaurant in Westchester. We dined there during restaurant week and, while the restaurant was very busy, and they were all about turning over the tables, the food was excellent and the service warm and thoughtful. The menu, too, showed some thought and lots of variety. The tuna crudo appetizer was spectacular, the lamb spring roll was also delicious. Main courses - salmon and veal - we're perfectly cooked and flavorful. A creamy tiramisu and a rich flourless chocolate cake ended the meal on a strong note."
