The food were what you'd expect from a good restaurant. The acoustics was some of the best I've come across in a while. I had written that it was our anniversary and asked for a nice table. They couldn't have been more accommodating. The waitstaff was wonderful and they brought us complementary champagne for our anniversary and wished us a happy one several times.

The food is wonderful! Daily specials are both unique and well conceived. The service prompt,professional and knowledgeable. The wine list is well priced and expansive. Not just a special occasion place,but a special place for any occasion. Worth a special trip. Kudos to the chef and owner. Also,the place is gorgeous!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHeavenly HarvestThis lovely restaurant in Closter is wonderful...the ambiance (high ceilings, fireplace, nice mood), service and the food all great. We had the miso crusted bronzino and it was the best. A bit noisy but energetic. The menu is diversified and offers many choices. The bar area gets quite a crowd...there was a band playing music and it drew a large group of younger people out to enjoy the evening. The menu is adventurous, with wild boar, venison and buffalo. Their tuna tartare was delicious and a good size portion--just the right amount of spice, served with toast; venison in a cherry cognac sauce was outrageous--sweet and tender; the scallops, salmon and striped bass were delicious and perfectly done. The chef was willing to make some changes to side dishes which is always appreciated. Their profiteroles with hazelnut ice cream and chocolate sauce are so delicious and the banana croustade was luscious.
Drinks were done perfectly and the service was excellent. There wasn't an empty table but the servers were terrific. This included a glass of wine or champagne, bloody mary or a choice of juice. There are also many breakfast items--waffles, pancakes, burgers, etc. Their menu is pretty extensive for brunch. Dinner is ramped up with many exotic choices like kangaroo and elk along with the usual fish, chicken and beef selections. Service outstanding and the place was packed. The décor is beautiful and the wood burning fireplace made a comforting focal point in the dining room.
