Don't put two ravioli's on a huge saucer like plate...like eating Pluto among the entire atmosphere...very silly and the plate itself also took up most of the table."

  • "The service was good and the food was delicious. But the kitchen took a long while to prepare the food even the dinning room was not packed. It was a very hot day, so we sat inside by the window overlooking the outdoor dinning patio. It was quite nice, except for lots of black/green flies buzzing all over our table. It was annoying for us trying to drive the flies away from the food constantly. Overall, we enjoyed the brunch and hoped the management could take care of the flies soon."

  • "Harvest never lets you down! We started with oysters (2 different kinds). Refreshing and delicious. My husband ordered the lamb, and I had the duck. Both were tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Service was polite and efficient. Couldn't ask for more!"

  • "From the first drinks at the bar to the final bite of dessert, service was excellent and food and flavors showed attention and care. Drinks are pricey but they are carefully crafted. 5 high school girlfriends meeting up for the first time in years and Harvest was the perfect choice. Meals were well seasoned and beautifully presented. Gouda lobster mac - wow. Tuna - generous portion and perfectly seared. Service was attentive but not invasive and very friendly. Would recommend for a client dinner, date, or any special meal."

  • "Looking at the website one would expect much more in terms of service and food. When I called to reserve and to inform them that one person in the party is vegan, they said that it is fine. When they called back to confirm and I asked for a vegan tasting, they said "just tell your server and it will be fine". I asked if advance notice would be needed and the person on the phone said that it would not be necessary because they have the ingredients and prepare everything from scratch. When I arrived at the restaurant, the reality was different. The server said that the tasting request was not communicated to them and they could not do anything. There was only one dinner option. Everything was OK, service was good, but not great."

  • "We decided to go for brunch for an anniversary meal because there were a few more vegetarian options than on the regular menu. The patio was lovely, plenty of shade and all, and the staff was attentive and professional without being overbearing. Asparagus soup, goat cheese fritters (more the form factor of a crab rangoon than a fritter, in my opinion, but that's not important) and tagliatelle were great, soup and pasta especially. The soup was so creamy and the mint garnish added necessary complexity, while the pasta had some kind of smoky carrot puree/sauce that was fantastic. The frittata was nothing special but the fresh produce helped. Dessert was fun, too-- yogurt mousse and pineapple cake for us-- if oddly "high-brow" for brunch."

  • "I took my husband to Harvest for his birthday. The service was perfect and the food and drink were exquisite. We chose Harvest because my husband loves raw oysters. He maintains that the oysters he had there were the very best he has ever had. I had a lavender and strawberry salad that was fresh and balanced. Our entrees were unbelievable - I had the filet and he had the halibut. The meal was quite honestly flawless. We sat outside and it is a beautiful space although outside feels slightly less formal than inside. This is certainly not budget dining but our meal was worth every penny. We cannot wait to go back!!"

  • "I heard Harvest was a great place and was excited to experience it for myself. Coming in with high expectations, they were met and I was impressed. The drinks were tasty and the blend of ingredients was exceptional; the tuna was cooked perfectly and served over a delicious bed of quinoa (I think it was quinoa, but it was delicious.) that had bits of smoked bacon in it. I would take out of town guests here to show off Cambridge."

  • "Everything was wonderful except the seating arrangements. They have two types of seating, square tables placed too close together that seat 4 and the long bench seating against the walls with small rectangular tables (about 2 x 3 feet) with chairs on the other side. The tables are moveable so they can be combined for more seating flexibility. We sat along the wall. Our table was separated from the adjacent groups by about 10 inches, so close that we were privy to their conversations, and they ours. I always feel uncomfortable in these situations as I feel like I'm eavesdropping. We had to slide our table aside so the man next to my husband on the bench seat could get out. Otherwise, food was delectable, and the ambiance was romantic."

  • "We tried the tasting menu which was good but small portions. The wine parings were excellent. Our waiter was efficient & friendly. Although we were going to theater we felt a little rushed. The only negative was that we sat at a table where the spotlight shown on the wall our table sat against. It was really filthy with dried on food & lots of dust & grime. Yuck. This restaurant should be spotless! I would hope the restaurant reads this review as it is a lovely place to dine in Cambridge."

Definitely not the level of service I would expect for the quality of food and most certainly, for the price. This was my first visit to Harvest, and though the food was exceptional, I have to say the service was lackluster."

  • "Love the patio in the nice weather. Service and food just uninspired for high price with so many better quality Boston options. Menu is outright boring and no specials. When there are restaurants like Erbaluce in town which always surprise you both in terms of little extras being brought to your table and unique preparation, you feel disappointed with the very high prices but plain jane food at Harvest. Service was equally utilitarian, with little explanation of preparation and not the love of food and wine you see in better restaurants. My halibut was cooked perfectly and it is a difficult fish to cook well. Fine for plain cooking kind of people who are not looking for value or excitement in their dining. However bar is always nice."

  • "There should be 10 stars for a place like Harvest, taken for granted by many because it's been around so long. Maison Robert was this good, but not as warm. Our waitress exuded class, quiet, professional. An amazing place for family and friends, any special occasion, or just to drop in. Quiet, out of the way, and it's really all about the food and what some great restaurants used to be."

  • "Our family really enjoys dining at Harvest before attending a performance at the American Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.). On Tues. we saw "The Tempest," which we would also recommend. Two from our family chose the tasting menu, which featured an escargot toast starter and a succulent pork entrée. The decision was a tough one, opposite the escargot tortellini. Others ordered à la carte and were delighted with the tea marinated duck breast. The banana crème brulée was good, but not outstanding. The service is always superb, which can be difficult to find these days. We chose not to be seated on the patio this time do to a family member who gets cold easily, but it looked beautiful out there with the gas fire burning on a lovely evening!"

  • "Honestly one of the best dinners in a while. Easy to make reservations, the front door hostess and manager were gracious. We were offered patio or indoor seating. We opted for patio by the fireplace! Our server was present but in a pleasant way. Knowledgable , kind and charming. My only complaint is I couldn't have all the desserts!! Go there !"

  • "Over the years, we have been to the Harvest on many occasions. It is a wonderful, reliable part of the fabric of Harvard Square. The food is fabulous, but the portions were so tiny that we left feeling somewhat taken advantage of....service was good at first and then we waited 45 minutes for our entrees, and the restaurant was about half full. Server forgot our side dish until halfway through the meal. Best to sit and order off the bar menu. Though the food was delicious, there are too many other options nearby."

The room is one of our favorites, subdued and relaxed, all the more enjoyable in the warm months when the outdoor patio opens. The spring menu this year heavy on complementing traditional dishes (halibut, seared yellow fin, lamb, beef tenderloin), with generous integrations of seasonal vegetables, fruits, and (yum!) bacon cous cous. Wonderful to have a touchstone like Harvest so close. Not to be missed in Harvard Square."

  • "This was one of our worst dining experiences in Boston in a long time. Nothing tasted good, much of it tasted off - too much fat was used to overcome a lack of quality ingredients. The food clearly featured old ingredients, few things tasted truly fresh. In particular, the oil used to fry the french fries was off. We literally gagged on them. Now we ate mostly seafood and appetizers, so perhaps they typically try to save the meal with entrees. We didn't get that chance. "

  • "We were celebrating college graduation and a birthday in a group of 8, and were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and ease of talking at our table compared to many places. The food was delicious, but I really liked our server who recommended a good, reasonably prices wine, was attentive and pleasant and offered a surprise birthday dessert to my goddaughter. Perfect experience for what we were looking for."
