HarvestImpeccableThis is one of my favorite places anywhere. The service and food are nearly always perfect. Seasonal food, beautifully prepared, coupled with well-trained, attentive without being overbearing service. I've been to Harvest every six months or so for years and it never disappoints. A rarity.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMRookie Mistake!! Lobster???Why oh why did I, a native Bostonian, pay 45 bucks for a chix lobstah?? It was tasty. But it was tiny. This is my fault. Well, the menu is tight....a signal of local ingredients and quality. Still, to be honest, the lobster is the only thing that appealed to me.
The food is high quality and well executed, but don't arrive too hungry...... My wife was fine with the portions (then again, I was paying and she's not fat, like me).
I'd go back in a second as the service was great, the food high quality and very tasty, the setting very nice, the wine list accommodating.....and the restaurant a legend. Desserts were great, too!
Seriously.....it's a nice treat.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat resturantWe dined outside, the only thing was the the restaurant staff, took out the trash behind the fence several times via trash Berlins and it was disturbing to our conversation, while they should of waited till the end of the night. Other then that, the service and the food, was very good, and will indeed return5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA small, very small note isA small, very small note is that the where we sat was a little cool. We had brunch and sat inside at the corner table next to the outside courtyard beyond the kitchen. It was a good spot to sit but because the servers were going in and out to the courtyard, and the door was always slightly ajar, it seemed to cool our meals off quick.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNice restaurantGood food - had the tenderloin and my fiancee had the lobster. Both were delicious. Standard fare for what you would expect from a mid/higher end dining experience.
Amazing service - many people came up to us to make sure we were having a good experience (but not too many so that it hampered our enjoyment of the experience).
Thanks Harvest!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive but worth it; goodExpensive but worth it; good for an occasion. I found the chairs not very comfortable.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, this restaurantAs usual, this restaurant has many positives: location, ambience, service. Although others in the party enjoyed the food, the duck filet I had was disappointing. It was well presented but tasteless.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe duck is FABULOUS!I had the duck, it was one of the best meals I've ever had! Waiter was fabulous.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Beautiful ambience.Great food. Beautiful ambience. Outstanding service. Venerable. What more can you say?4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMthree course Brunch?Hadn't been in a while - and had the chance to return for a Sunday Brunch. While sometimes I am hungry enough for a massive hotel buffet - sometimes I am just in an eat-light mood. And so was surprised and a bit disappointed to see a mandated three course prix fixe for Sunday Brunch. With about six choices for a beginner and main and then a mandated dessert - which came home. All was good - nothing spectacular. But the mandatory prix fixe was an unexpected negative. However - while awaiting my guests I did review the wine list - for dinner and wow what a great list for us new world red lovers!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Finest of Fine DiningHarvest is simply the best restaurant in the Boston area. The food is excellent, and the setting and decor are perfect for the entire culinary experience.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMthe seasonal menu was delicious.the seasonal menu was delicious. pea soup with lobster, spiced carrot tortellini, smoked ricotta ravioli with morels and asparagus. i was wanting to go back while i was still there. Was great too that on wednesday 4/17, when i ate there, they were part of 100 or so restaurants who were donating proceeds to marathon bombing victim relief.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a lovely lunch at Harvest. We had a lovely lunch at Harvest. We sat inside because it was still a little chilly, but the patio area looked lovely. The inside had a clean modern feel, very pleasant. The food was outstanding, everything we tried we were happy with. And we especially enjoyed the Tazo Chocolate Cremeux dessert. The wait staff were very attentive, maybe a bit too quick to check that everything was okay, but very friendly. I would definitely recommend Harvest for a special occasion meal.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a brunch here and itI had a brunch here and it was great!!! The food is outstanding: in particular, seafood is so fresh and tasty! Sure I can recommend this restaurant!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI love being able to orderI love being able to order lunch and not just brunch on a Saturday. It's always a treat to enjoy the lovely dining room.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTimely seating for reservation.Timely seating for reservation. Good attention from wait staff. Accommodating for change in order. Fairly prompt service given our time constraints.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyedMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I cannot recall my waiter's name as it did not print out on my receipt, but he was excellent. He showed us around the restaurant as we were interested in the private dining area. We did not feel rushed and our selections were spaced out to allow us time to enjoy our time together as well as each course. I'd not recommend Harvest for quiet dining unless you reserve the room as it is a bit noisy.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was simply delicious. The food was simply delicious. One of the best meals my wife and I have had in Cambridge/Boston in the last several years. Great featured wine too! Highly recommended.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen there many times, alwaysBeen there many times, always enjoy the food and service4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service, really goodGreat Service, really good food, and we just had an absolutely wonderful time. There was a fireplace fire on the patio that I was able to look at all during dinner. Loved it. When weather gets warmer, patio will be open with the gas fireplace on too.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything about Harvest wasEverything about Harvest was awesome! No complaints at all and I would recommend it to anyone!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSeemed to be kid-friendlySeemed to be kid-friendly based on other tables we were seeing, though we didn't have any in our party.
Food was great and the Easter prix fixe menu had a good range of options. Noise level was not ideal for my mother-in-law (who wears a hearing aid), but she managed. Service was a little distracted, but we were there on Easter Sunday for brunch which I imagine is one of your busiest daytime shifts, so understandable. However the waiter did bring us the check without us asking for it, as we were finishing up our entrees. Seemed a bit gauche not to ask a final time whether we'd like coffee. But, again, I bet they needed to turn the table over as quickly as possible.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMwe went to 6 restaurants inwe went to 6 restaurants in 2 restaurant weeks & harvest was the only one to offer a special win price(5$)with the special lunches-the food was very good & the deserts were grea!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst-rate restaurant in CambridgeAttentive and professional service, excellent food in reasonably-sized portions. Fixed price menus available. Chairs could have been a bit more comfortable. Fine choice for entertaining out-of-town guests.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal. The soups wereGreat meal. The soups were particularly delicious.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had brunch during the ResturantWe had brunch during the Resturant Week and got their special for the week. It was more than enough for the entire day and very tasty. We would go back again.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI would have liked more optionsI would have liked more options for food; I was disappointed that the normal restaurant week options didn't apply on weekends. I had to order something I didn't quite want, but it was tasty for what it was. The service was amazing and the place has great ambiance.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHadn't visited the HarvestHadn't visited the Harvest in years and found it just as wonderful. Had the 'restaurant week' menu - great value and delicious (cauliflower soup especially!), was not rushed through meal.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHarvest was the perfect placeHarvest was the perfect place for me to reconnect with a friend I had not seen in many years. The waiter was attentive but allowed us plenty of time to have a relaxed and leisurely dinner. My appetizer of curried chick peas and cauliflower was fabulous. My entree of quail came with red quinoa. I don't like quinoa, but didn't want to be that person who was always changing things. Guess what? It was delicious. Ate everything, and enjoyed every bite. The only reason I withheld a star on the food was because I didn't really care for the grapefruit curd dessert, which was a little disappointing. All in all, however, it was a wonderful meal.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHarvest had great serviceHarvest had great service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Most of our food great, but my husband's roast quail was disappointing. It was not very flavorful and was served with a very plain, unexciting quinoa. From a restaurant as highly rated (and pricey) as Harvest, we expected better. But, I still gave 4 stars for food since everything else, especially dessert, was quite good.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe most delicious duck entreThe most delicious duck entre I've ever experienced and the forbidden rice to die for!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Service and Wine ListOur server showcased impeccable timing, knowing when to let us enjoy our cocktails, for example, and then placing our dinner order accordingly. She also explained the wine list well, noting subtle differences between the two Malbecs we had in mind. Although our Caesar salads disappointed, our main meals delighted us. We will be back again the next time we have something special to celebrate, such as a night off from parental duties.3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menu and wine choicesGreat menu and wine choices with many locally sourced high quality ingredients. The items we ate were delicious and plated beautifully. The service was attentive and accurate. Pricey, but worth it. The only quibble I had was not being told when given the menu that they were out of one of the main courses (it was the one I wanted).3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's been my favorite HarvardIt's been my favorite Harvard Square restaurant starting this fall. Really good food and friendly service. If you like charchuterie, the plate here is delicious and generous. Paired with a salad (love the harvest grain salad), it is more than enough for dinner. Alas, no room for dessert. Can't wait to go back!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best Brunch in CambridgeStill great after all these years. Harvest was the original Boston foodie "best of class" decades ago--and it still delights with its farm to table sensibilities. GREAT brunch deal-prix fix three courses.1/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite spot the forOur favorite spot the for annual office holiday party!12/17/2012 12:00:00 AMAlways an excellent choiceAlways an excellent choice when in Harvard Square.11/26/2012 12:00:00 AMDelisciousLovely lunch with great service.
