HarvestTheir outdoor patio is great:Their outdoor patio is great: quiet and hidden from the street. But it's only on a first-come, first-serve basis, so you can't reserve it.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat outdoor dining in summer.Perfect Friday evening in June. Excellent food, outstanding wine list, great service. This is a restaurant that knows that the customer is king.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat choiceVery good food. Service excellent and unobtrusive. Always a good choice. Nice to have the option to eat outdoors.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery goodHidden on the alley, and a cozy restaurant with a updated American menu. The food is constantly good and the service is always spot on.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMstill as great as ever! We've been to Harvest for special occasions, and it never fails to live up to expectations. The dishes are beautiful and complex, and very fresh tasting. The asparagus soup was quintessential springtime. I've never had swordfish so tender. Everything was so good, I wished there was more, but by the end of the meal I was definitely stuffed. The staff was friendly and professional. It was very pleasant dining outdoors in the courtyard. We couldn't ask for anything better.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was good, not great. The food was good, not great. The view was great, not good. It is a beautiful restaurant, with great service, nice ambience, relaxing atmosphere, sophisticiated wining and dining options but soso food. To be honest, for the price we paid for the food, it did not stand up at all. The soup was salty, the fish was bland, for all the great things we had heard about the food, it was a bit of a letdown. However, everything else was absolutely amazing. Overall, much better food options for less elsewhere, but your not going to get the service and the atmosphere anywhere else.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTop-shelf Std. in Harvard SquareThe place still rocks, and has a great ambiance. Hard to beat it.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food, with up-to-dateVery good food, with up-to-date flourishes. Broad enough menu and reasonable glasses of wine that this can be a good dinner out for couples or more that have varied tastes. The harvest theme is just enough to distinguish this from, say, Cragie on Main.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSomething different for brunchSecond time I've gone for brunch and very happy both times. I'm not a big fan of breakfast food and so was happy to see that Harvest offers a lot of other options. They had an egg dish and French toast but also had seafood, fried chicken, etc. And great desserts. Very nice presentation. Highly recommend it.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, great service,Good food, great service, okay atmosphere--maybe it was because we were outside (very noisy from street, lots of little kids around us, not particularly pretty). It was a lovely evening to be out but it took away from the 'special' feel we were hoping for...6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey but worth a visit!Beautiful food presentation and the portions were just right - not over-sized or under-sized. The food was pretty tasty overall - though the desserts could have had a bit more intensity of flavor. It was my first time eating there and my daughter's second and we were all very pleased with our meals. I would love to see more vegetarian options in addition to ravioli. Pricey, but good - well worth a visit.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAn oasis in the square!Consistently delicious and civilized. The Harvest is a place conducive to good conversation because of its ambience.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently goodWe had a business dinner here recently and I have eaten here several times in the past as well. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and both the cocktails and wine were also very good. We had a pleasant, unrushed meal and have absolutely no complaints! I will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant without reservations.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMfinally got thereAfter 4 years of visitiing cambridge with a kid in college there, finally went to Harvest and definitely worth the wait, but don't wait as long as we did! It is worth a number of visits! Exquisite preparation and flawless presentation.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've had bad meals there,We've had bad meals there, but this night we ate in the bar, and though pricy, dinner was excellent.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and beautifulExcellent food and beautiful presentation. Tables for two are extremely close together and once the restaurant filled up (no outdoor dining that night due to weather), no chance for private conversation. Felt a little like being in a basement (again possibly due to weather and closed patio). Filet was cooked to perfection, oysters were flawless and salted caramel chocolate dessert was outstanding. Definitely worth another visit.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccableThis is one of my favorite places anywhere. The service and food are nearly always perfect. Seasonal food, beautifully prepared, coupled with well-trained, attentive without being overbearing service. I've been to Harvest every six months or so for years and it never disappoints. A rarity.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodWent to Harvest for a special occasion dinner - celebrating daughter's college grad with 9 for dinner. Food is interesting, well-prepared and delicious. Service was a bit off - very slow - it was a busy night, not sure if problem was with the kitchen. But Harvest is a lovely venue and I would recommend it highly.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMRookie Mistake!! Lobster???Why oh why did I, a native Bostonian, pay 45 bucks for a chix lobstah?? It was tasty. But it was tiny. This is my fault. Well, the menu is tight....a signal of local ingredients and quality. Still, to be honest, the lobster is the only thing that appealed to me.
The food is high quality and well executed, but don't arrive too hungry...... My wife was fine with the portions (then again, I was paying and she's not fat, like me).
I'd go back in a second as the service was great, the food high quality and very tasty, the setting very nice, the wine list accommodating.....and the restaurant a legend. Desserts were great, too!
Seriously.....it's a nice treat.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat resturantWe dined outside, the only thing was the the restaurant staff, took out the trash behind the fence several times via trash Berlins and it was disturbing to our conversation, while they should of waited till the end of the night. Other then that, the service and the food, was very good, and will indeed return5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMNice restaurantGood food - had the tenderloin and my fiancee had the lobster. Both were delicious. Standard fare for what you would expect from a mid/higher end dining experience.
Amazing service - many people came up to us to make sure we were having a good experience (but not too many so that it hampered our enjoyment of the experience).
Thanks Harvest!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA small, very small note isA small, very small note is that the where we sat was a little cool. We had brunch and sat inside at the corner table next to the outside courtyard beyond the kitchen. It was a good spot to sit but because the servers were going in and out to the courtyard, and the door was always slightly ajar, it seemed to cool our meals off quick.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPrix Fixe on Sunday mid-dayI was surprised to arrive for Sunday lunch and find that the only option was a three course prix-fixe at $35. There was no obvious mention of this when I first looked up the restaurant on the web. Maybe I missed it when I was perusing the site, but if so, others will do so as well, and I think that is regrettable. OF course once we were there with our guests, we could't leave, so we got stuck with quite a bill at the end - and that part was unintended. Otherwise, it was a lovely experience.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive but worth it; goodExpensive but worth it; good for an occasion. I found the chairs not very comfortable.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, this restaurantAs usual, this restaurant has many positives: location, ambience, service. Although others in the party enjoyed the food, the duck filet I had was disappointing. It was well presented but tasteless.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe duck is FABULOUS!I had the duck, it was one of the best meals I've ever had! Waiter was fabulous.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Beautiful ambience.Great food. Beautiful ambience. Outstanding service. Venerable. What more can you say?4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Finest of Fine DiningHarvest is simply the best restaurant in the Boston area. The food is excellent, and the setting and decor are perfect for the entire culinary experience.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMthe seasonal menu was delicious.the seasonal menu was delicious. pea soup with lobster, spiced carrot tortellini, smoked ricotta ravioli with morels and asparagus. i was wanting to go back while i was still there. Was great too that on wednesday 4/17, when i ate there, they were part of 100 or so restaurants who were donating proceeds to marathon bombing victim relief.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a lovely lunch at Harvest. We had a lovely lunch at Harvest. We sat inside because it was still a little chilly, but the patio area looked lovely. The inside had a clean modern feel, very pleasant. The food was outstanding, everything we tried we were happy with. And we especially enjoyed the Tazo Chocolate Cremeux dessert. The wait staff were very attentive, maybe a bit too quick to check that everything was okay, but very friendly. I would definitely recommend Harvest for a special occasion meal.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a brunch here and itI had a brunch here and it was great!!! The food is outstanding: in particular, seafood is so fresh and tasty! Sure I can recommend this restaurant!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI love being able to orderI love being able to order lunch and not just brunch on a Saturday. It's always a treat to enjoy the lovely dining room.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTimely seating for reservation.Timely seating for reservation. Good attention from wait staff. Accommodating for change in order. Fairly prompt service given our time constraints.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyedMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I cannot recall my waiter's name as it did not print out on my receipt, but he was excellent. He showed us around the restaurant as we were interested in the private dining area. We did not feel rushed and our selections were spaced out to allow us time to enjoy our time together as well as each course. I'd not recommend Harvest for quiet dining unless you reserve the room as it is a bit noisy.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was simply delicious. The food was simply delicious. One of the best meals my wife and I have had in Cambridge/Boston in the last several years. Great featured wine too! Highly recommended.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen there many times, alwaysBeen there many times, always enjoy the food and service4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service, really goodGreat Service, really good food, and we just had an absolutely wonderful time. The menu is unique and the waiters are very knowledgable. During the summer, make sure to go out on the patio, it looked wonderful!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe host made us feel welcome.,The host made us feel welcome., and even though it was a busy Saturday night, the experience was intimate and memorable.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. There was a fireplace fire on the patio that I was able to look at all during dinner. Loved it. When weather gets warmer, patio will be open with the gas fireplace on too.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything about Harvest wasEverything about Harvest was awesome! No complaints at all and I would recommend it to anyone!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSeemed to be kid-friendlySeemed to be kid-friendly based on other tables we were seeing, though we didn't have any in our party.
Food was great and the Easter prix fixe menu had a good range of options. Noise level was not ideal for my mother-in-law (who wears a hearing aid), but she managed. Service was a little distracted, but we were there on Easter Sunday for brunch which I imagine is one of your busiest daytime shifts, so understandable. However the waiter did bring us the check without us asking for it, as we were finishing up our entrees. Seemed a bit gauche not to ask a final time whether we'd like coffee. But, again, I bet they needed to turn the table over as quickly as possible.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMwe went to 6 restaurants inwe went to 6 restaurants in 2 restaurant weeks & harvest was the only one to offer a special win price(5$)with the special lunches-the food was very good & the deserts were grea!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst-rate restaurant in CambridgeAttentive and professional service, excellent food in reasonably-sized portions. Fixed price menus available. Chairs could have been a bit more comfortable. Fine choice for entertaining out-of-town guests.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal. The soups wereGreat meal. The soups were particularly delicious.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had brunch during the ResturantWe had brunch during the Resturant Week and got their special for the week. It was more than enough for the entire day and very tasty. We would go back again.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI would have liked more optionsI would have liked more options for food; I was disappointed that the normal restaurant week options didn't apply on weekends. I had to order something I didn't quite want, but it was tasty for what it was. The service was amazing and the place has great ambiance.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHadn't visited the HarvestHadn't visited the Harvest in years and found it just as wonderful. Had the 'restaurant week' menu - great value and delicious (cauliflower soup especially!), was not rushed through meal.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHarvest was the perfect placeHarvest was the perfect place for me to reconnect with a friend I had not seen in many years. The waiter was attentive but allowed us plenty of time to have a relaxed and leisurely dinner. My appetizer of curried chick peas and cauliflower was fabulous. My entree of quail came with red quinoa. I don't like quinoa, but didn't want to be that person who was always changing things. Guess what? It was delicious. Ate everything, and enjoyed every bite. The only reason I withheld a star on the food was because I didn't really care for the grapefruit curd dessert, which was a little disappointing. All in all, however, it was a wonderful meal.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHarvest had great serviceHarvest had great service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Most of our food great, but my husband's roast quail was disappointing. It was not very flavorful and was served with a very plain, unexciting quinoa. From a restaurant as highly rated (and pricey) as Harvest, we expected better. But, I still gave 4 stars for food since everything else, especially dessert, was quite good.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe most delicious duck entreThe most delicious duck entre I've ever experienced and the forbidden rice to die for!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
