Diner Reviews
  • "The wait staff is young and not well trained. The food is good but has not flair. But the room is nice."

  • "This was to be a birthday diner and we were very disappointed. Food was very very expensive for the quility, bread was cold, no ice in water. Dessert was great."

  • "This is my second year in are row spending the 4th of July at the Hotel Hershey. Last year dinner was at the Circular this year at the Harvest. Both are great options. Dinner followed by Fireworks from the Veranda is a very nice way to spend the holiday."

  • "Harvest offers delicious food and attractive decor. Every item that we had was delicious with appealing presentation - even the butter was presented in the harvest motif. Our server was pleasant and efficient."

  • " Absolutely exceeded my expectations, from seating, to wait service, to of course the meal. First class all the way, make sure to reserve early and enjoy!"

  • "This was our fourth time dining at the harvest for our annual trip to the hotel. In the past, we had mediocre food but great service. This time, service was terrible (inexperienced and not very helpful) but the food was much better. Our waitress spilled an entire glass of sangria all over my young daughter at the start of the meal. She was apologetic but we weren't even offered another table or even a little treat for the poor thing! It just wasn't handled in a way that a restaurant of this caliber should handle that situation. Not sure if this place is on our list for next year."

  • "This restaurant made up in service where it lacked for food quality. The server after realizing I wasn't eating my steak at the end of the meal, removed it from my bill. The filet mignon I ordered as medium well, tasted dry, burnt and lacked the tenderness they usually have."

  • "Our family had an anniversary dinner for my in-laws. The service was great; the food was delicious; the experience memorable. We can't wait to return."

  • "Food and service were outstanding but noise level very loud made it difficult to hear and talk"

  • "Server was not very engaging nor attentive. Others stepped in for her. The salad dressing had no flavor as well as the potatoes. The steak was perfect. Expected consistency for the price and the Hershey name"

  • "We like to stop here occasionally when we travel between ne Pennsylvania and DC. The restaurant has a spectacular view, and on a beautiful day it is a pleasure to relax and dine looking out the big picture windows from the hill top. In the past we've enjoyed a lobster roll there, but it wasn't on the menu this time. Menu food is good but not great. One burger was delicious, the other burnt and over done (although they graciously comped it). Service is very friendly. In short, it is very nice and beautiful. Food varies between decent and very good, but don't have that be your sole reason for going. Go to relax and, in our case, get a nice break from the interstate."

  • "Hershey does a great job with their restaurants and Harvest is no exception. Friendly, accomodating staff."

  • "As long-time diners at the Hotel Hershey, we wanted to check out this new venue. We found it sort of like an upgraded Friendly's, with kids running around and the wait staff in jeans and plaid shirts. The food was good, as always at Hershey, and the service excellent. But I wouldn't travel an hour again for a menu I can get closer to home and an ambiance that didn't make it feel like a celebratory evening. We will continue to dine at Circular -- even in its less formal atmosphere it still has the Hershey elegance that makes the experience -- and the food -- more special."

  • "The two tables nearest us were dirty for our entire dinner before being cleaned. The server asked us if we were here for dinner or dessert and told us we were just listed for dessert. I ordered a a champagne cocktail. The server asked how to make that so I told her. She then came back and asked if I wanted it on the rocks or up. I have never been asked If I wanted my champagne drink to be on the rocks. I then asked for just a glass of a sweet sparkling wine. I was offered Brut. I wondered with all the available technology why the bartender wouldn't just look it up. When I spoke to my husband he reminded me that early in the summer this has happened before. Perhaps, the staff training should be more extensive prior to Memorial Day."

  • "The restaurant features local produce and meat. My Pittsburgh Salad was w/outstanding with stellar beef & hand cut fries. The lettuce was fresh with no discoloration. The dessert shooters made the meal perfect for my friend and me. Great service, too!"

  • "This is the best experience we've had at Harvest. My dad loves it here because of the gluten-free rolls and menu. We've had poor service and mediocre food in the past, but on this visit had an exemplary waitress and the food was top-notch. New uniforms are so-so, but keep up the good work. We'll be back!"

  • "Food, service and atmosphere all very nice. We had no complaints. We've been here for both lunch and dinner. Left both times satisfied and full. Good kids menu. Our picky 5 year old was happy. We will go back again."

  • "The mushroom caps were good. We ordered the seafood pasta. The pasta was like gum. We told our waitress and she just stood there and said I'm sorry. One would expect a manager to maybe stop by our table but no one bothered. At a place like the hotel Hershey more is expected. Screaming kids were everywhere. My friend and I were at the spa recently too and we're highly disappointed. It's gone down hill. Another reason hotel Hershey isn't a 5 star hotel!!!"

  • "We had a nice meal with our 7 year old daughter here. Good kids menu and we got to enjoy special cocktails and homemade bread, the highlight was the chocolate pie. Entrees were just ok but the other stuff made up for it. Lots of kids here and dress is pretty casual. If you don't have kids you might not enjoy it."

  • "The food was delicious and service was wonderful. However, the noise level was a bit distracting with many children in the restaurant during my visit. Kids are not a nuisance, but if you were trying to have a quiet conversation, it was not going to happen. Possibly try to seat adults only in one section or away from children's tables."

  • "Enjoyable evening! Sat outside and watched the sunset which was quite beautiful. Food was excellent; however, my filet mignon was ordered medium rare and arrived more like medium well and a tad dry, i.e., no juice at all. My wife ordered her filet mignon medium, and it came out perfect for her. Recommend inquiring what rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well done indicates."

  • "We ate at Harvest for dinner. Local mushroom caps with crab to start. Both had fillets which were cooked perfectly. The farm-to-table concept is excellent. Waitress could practically tell us where our entire dinner was produced. Food is very fresh. "

  • "Harvest is absolutely fabulous! Our family of four, two young children included, was very warmly welcomed and seated at a lovely table. Our server, Kim, was bar none, one of the most polite, eager to please, well-versed servers my husband and I have ever had. The menu was extensive, vibrant and the appetizers and entrees that followed lived up to their reputation. What a wonderful introduction to all that the Hershey Hotel has to offer."

  • "We have dined at Harvest many times. It has always been great. Since it's been a while, we thought we'd try it this weekend for our anniversary. It's changed, not for the good. Service was unsatisfactory. The waitress was not very personable, slow, and inattentive. When food came it was "dump and run". The food was was "unremarkable" at best. Especially the dessert. The cheesecake was tasteless, the sauce had no trace of rubarb, and the cream was awful. The brownie in the "death-by-chocolate" was a dry lump, inedible. I have never seen my wife not eat a chocolate dessert before! We expected great food from a Hershey Hotel Restaurant, sadly, we were both very disappointed."

  • "Much better than the Circular - great lobster salad, chicken soup. Do not recommend the Chicken Salad - tooo0 much mayo. Lovely biscuits, and service."

  • "They were unable to accommodate a window seat as requested. We were celebrating a birthday and we were seated in a both across from a little girl who was ready to go, but her parents were not! She was screaming and crying and it was very disruptive. We are understanding and figured it wouldn't last long as they were ordering dessert. We did let the waitress know that we were not happy with our seating, she said our choice was either where we were or in a booth by the kitchen."

  • "Excellent choice for a special occasion! Service was excellent as was the food! Interesting selection of local foods! We started with drinks on the outdoor patio...very quiet (just about six tables) and a nice view! Beautiful day was a plus! Lovely experience for our daughter's college graduation celebration and my Mother's Day celebration! Looking forward to our next special occasion so we can go back to the Harvest! P.S. My daughter received a complimentary small chocolate cupcake on a plate with the word, "Congratulations" written in chocolate...only in Hershey!:)"

  • "This was my first visit to Harvest and was for the special occasion of an intimate Mothers Day dinner with my sister and mother. The atmosphere was great and personally what would be my deciding factor to return. Unfortunately we had rain the evening we dined and did not get to appreciate the scenery as much as we would have liked. The staff was great at accommodations through out the reservation process and immediately friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Our waitress was knowledgable and helpful regarding the menu selections. Not overly friendly, rather dry personality. We did experience some longer than expected lag times. There was a large group of middle aged loud women seated directly at the front which became an annoyance at times. "

  • "This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I gave this place a great review several years ago. But I went to Harvest last fall and again just recently. Both times the food was not good. I am vegan and when this place opened they were very accommodating with excellent vegan options. They still have vegan options but they are terrible. The vegan burger was mushy and bland. Even the side dishes were lackluster. One bright spot was the soup - very good. If you are going to put vegan options on the menu they ought to taste good. Other non-vegans in our party were not impressed with the food either. Harvest must have changed chefs recently because they are not the kind of restaurant they used to be."

  • "When we were seated the sun was in our eyes. The shears were closed, so there was nothing they could do but move us from a booth to a table. I'm sure the sun sets the same each night and that would be an issue for anyone sitting in that booth. There were unique options offered on the menu, which was a plus. I got the she crab soup, but had to eat it delicately as there were shells in the soup. My sister ordered the beet and goat cheese salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed. When our dinners arrived, my mother received cold mashed potatoes and a very small portion of fish (she was thinking it should have been larger). Other than that the food was okay. For the money I was hoping for a "Wow" meal. We did have a great server."
