Diner Reviews
  • "The special Easter menu was very good. I really enjoyed the trout appetizer. I like that there is always a different vegetable to try. I had never had fiddlehead ferns before and they were very good. I also like that they have wines from Walyz Vineyards."

  • "Everything about The Harvest is great except the food. The price for the mediocre food is overpriced. "

  • "All the food is from local sources and very delicious. I ordered salad with a side of grilled hanger steak. The only complaint was portion was very small. "

  • "Had high hopes for a nice anniversary dinner, and service was excellent. Ambiance very nice as well. Menu sounded wonderful, but when we received our food, it was lukewarm and my pasta (pappardalle with kale, squash and mushrooms) had soaked in all the sauce and was in one, very dry piece that I had to actually cut with my fork because the pasta would not lift apart. Very disappointed in our meal, especially for a special occasion. Waitress did not seem too interested in why we did not finish our meals although she was terrific otherwise."

  • "We were expecting a romantic dinner for two and spent dinner surrounded by families. This would be a great place to go with your family but if you are on a date go somewhere else. "

  • "We went for restaurant week and were not impressed with the main entrees. The apple and rhubarb stuffing was no where to be found in the pork loin. The noodles were dry (hardly any gravy) on the beef entree and the meat was tough. When we asked the waitress if the meat was supposed to be so tough, she said yes. I would think that the quality of food at this restaurant and for the price you pay, they would have good, tender meat. I've been to the Harvest several times and this was my first time for dinner--I will not return."

  • "I really wasn't that impressed, mainly because the food was so bland. The restaurant is child friendly, but not every child behaves in a restaurant. There is very little parking right by the restaurant and it's still a bit of a walk for a person with a disability. We had to park quite far away, and it was raining. (There's a small outdoor ice-skating rink in front of the restaurant that would better be utilized for parking, in my opinion). All in all, I was not that impressed. They're are less expensive restaurants in the area that have much better food."

  • "Harvest served the most delectable food that we've had in a long time. Delicious grilled swordfish, broccoli that I have to mimic at home, amazing grilled shrimp, and amazing desserts. The food was in season and very fresh. The service was impeccable without being at all pretentious. The wait staff were not overloaded with tables. The food came out in a timely manner. We would highly recommend this restaurant!"

  • "service was great. Party of 4. Crab soup was wonderful. The salmon burger was rather tastless. The chocolate cake was not very tasty. The bread pudding was great. Hit or miss."

  • "I was pleasantly surprised with both the food and ambience at the harvest at the hotel hershey. The food was absolutely excellent, as was the rustic atmosphere. Would go back again."

  • "We were staying at the Hotel Hershey, and chose to dine at Harvest because we (usually) love farm-to-table restaurants. For starters, we did enjoy a beet and goat cheese salad (me) and the rabbit ravioli (my husband), but then, our main courses were awful! I prefer not to eat meat/fish/etc., so I ordered the pappardelle dish. It was completely flavorless, and the "butternut squash" that came along with it was actually just 2 1/2 small cubes... come on! My husband's medium-well filet mignon was cooked all the way through, extremely dry and chewy. I was so turned off, we left before dessert. Given the "caliber" of the hotel and restaurant, Hershey/Harvest should be embarrassed."

  • "This was our second visit to Harvest in the last two years. The food is always locally grown and fresh, and they offer interesting takes on classic favorites. The service is always knowledgeable and properly attentive. And most seats have a beautiful view of the Hershey Hotel grounds. The only reason I gave 4 stars to the food, was that the red beets in my roasted beet and arugula salad were too salty. When our waitress asked how our meal was, I told her about the beets. She immediately notified the chef and returned again to apologize and let me know that the chef was correcting the issue and asked if I wanted a replacement. This is a wonderful restaurant and I highly recommend it."

  • "Very convenient to reserve and as you enter you will be greeted by warm hospitality. The ingredients are mostly from local source , they are known for their steaks but seafoods and vegetarian options are equally good. the she crab soup is highly recommended. Great flavored dishes."

  • "Farm to table concept is great, but the food was bland, boring and beige. Narry an herb to be found. Herbed roast chicken with no herbs, Roasted veggies with no herbs. The décor s pleasant, but unless the food improves very substantially, we won't be back."

  • "The staff at this restaurant is great. I enjoy my stay at the Hotel Hershey and look forward to eating at the Harvest. I make sure one of the nights of dining is there. The food is wonderful and everything is presented so well."

  • "My husband and I ate dinner here for the first time a few days ago. I wasn't sure what to expect. It was fabulous. We both had steak - he had the aged steak and I had the ribeye. Both were some of the best steaks we'd ever eaten. You can choose a sauce for your steak - I got the birch beer reduction and it was perfect. I started with the wedge salad with bacon and bleu cheese. It was very subtle - not covered in gloppy bleu cheese dressing or chunks of bacon. The lettuce was also wilted slightly. We shared the peanut butter pie - yum. All in all, one of the best meals I've had in a long time."

  • "Not our first time here, and we recommend it to friends. Menu changes seasonally. There is always something new and good to try - even for the vegetarians (me). A little pricey, but it is in the Hershey Hotel, so there is no avoiding that. Have brought the kids in the past and they loved it too. It is a good special occasion place too."

  • "We are local, and this was the second time we came home from the harvest and spent the next day or so indisposed. The atmosphere is very nice, and the services is never very good, but we have come to expect this."

  • "My husband had the salmon w/ cauliflower. The cauliflower was very dry and the salmon was too -- it needed a sauce or something. I got the pasta dish and it wasn't up to the usual high caliber of food that we ususlly get at Harvest. It was very heavy and rather bland."

  • "It has been a tradition to dine at The Hotel with my best friend prior to my Sunday matinee' performance at the Hershey Theatre. We always have a wonderful experience, which keeps us returning with each new production year after year. In this instance, our server was very professional yet warm and welcoming. We enjoyed her recommendations after our request of her knowledge. Since we had trouble deciding what dish to have, my friend and I mentioned that we each would order and then share. Our server took the 'complication' of this decision out of our hands by asking the chef/kitchen to divide the orders for us. Great idea! The food was wonderful, the service divine and the atmosphere was perfect. It 'set the stage' for a terrific afternoon."

  • "This was the first time I ate at a "nice" restaurant in Hershey. For the price the food was subpar. We had the flatbread with duck on it which was the best thing we had. We also tried one of their pasta dishes, the sauce was bland and the pasta was over cooked. The saving grace of the night was the service. Our waitress was attentive and really kind. Wine list was very good as well. Gave nice simple descriptions for each wine. Next time I will try Devon's seafood or Fenicci's."

  • "Always wanted to see what they did with the 9 hole course. Was worth the off season early week visit, but probably better when more activity--like during sometime other than the worst winter in Cent. Pa. in years. Good time at bar--very nice tender. We will not routinely come back when in Hershey as there are so many other places to see."

  • "I wish the menu was larger with more choices. I ordered the smoked pork chop, but it should have just been called ham. It was tasty but if someone strongly dislikes ham they would have been very disappointed. The presentation was nice, our server was great, but I would have preferred more dining choices."

  • "Harvest is on the grounds of the Hotel Hershey, which is known for being one of the nicest hotels in the area, situated on a hill overlooking the town. When you come in, I advise a trip to the Iberian lounge, where they make excellent drinks, and which has excellent ambience. Then you have a pleasant walk across the rear grounds to the actual harvest building. The restaurant itself has a casual atmosphere with panoramic windows looking out on the lawn. The food is extremely well executed american casual faire. The menu changes seasonally, which is the concept of the restaurant; the chefs try to use food that is as local and seasonal as possible. We like it a lot."
