Diner Reviews
  • "We reserved a table for dinner on out vacation because my son specifically wanted sushi and I wasn't going to someplace that wasn't reputable. I am very pleased I chose Haru Sushi. The atmosphere was energetic and the food was great! I've only had sushi a few times, but my son and his fiancee are fans of it. Well, I am now a fan also. Very well done and at a price that is reasonable(for NYC). Make reservations because it fills up quickly, but it is easy to see why."

  • "I've been pre theatre dining for years and never saw Haru. I know their delicious food from downtown. Food is still fab However- waiter didn't listen well - had to ask several times for many things And the tables are too close and loud. Great sushi - great pricing but not a laid back relaxing place"

  • "The pictures and description led me to believe this restaurant was somewhat chic. It was not. The wine selection is better at my grocery store and the people's attire was something I would expect to see at the ballpark. I never made it to the food. We left."

  • "Family of five. Great booking service. Great location just off Times Sq. Good sashimi even the kids liked it! Large entrees which kids didn't manage to finish Would recommend."

  • "Had a great time celebrating my daughter's birthday! Service was wonderful and food was great. First time visited and have already recommended to friends. Was disappointed only that I was not able to use birthday coupon but we will be back!"

  • "We were visiting from Chicago and this was the second time we had eaten there in 3 days! My daughter and I enjoyed an early dinner before a show on Thursday. Haru was highly recommended by our hotel concierge. The creativity as well as the presentation of our dishes was exceptional. When my husband got into town, we had to share this dining experience with him on Saturday. Says a lot about a restaurant when tourists to the Big Apple pick their establishment again when such variety is available."

  • "This was our dinner stop on the way to see "The Realistic Joneses." We wanted to find a sushi place in the city comparable to our local gem. This is a place we will come back to again and again. Our waitress Diana was on the ball. Other staff were attentive. Rolls were delish to say the least."

  • "Love the food at Haru. The popcorn shrimp tempura appetizer is amazing and goes perfectly with the spicy sauce. The Special Rolls are really good, especially the Rainbow, Phoenix, and Dragon Rolls. The ingredients are always fresh and the rolls are a decent portion."

  • "My friend and i have enjoyed lunch together at Haru Broadway most Mondays or at least every other week for the last year. Before that we frequented the 48th street location for lunch for many years. While this location is less convenient for us, it is easy to get to and we love the fact that we can make a reservation. The service is always wonderful and the food is consistent, fresh, and very good. We sit, we order the crab dumplings and the edamame right off the bat, and then typically choose a bento box or a sushi lunch special. We are able to be out of this busy restaurant within 60-90 minutes without ever feeling rushed. The hosts and staff are also friendy and accommodating. Thanks Haru for providing me with the best part of my week!"

  • "Excellent, fresh sushi across the board. The only drawback is the overall noise level, which can be quite high and make carrying on a business conversation a real challenge."

  • "I like this Haru either when people are in the theater, or post-theater. (Pre-theater they can seem overwhelmed by the crowd.) I think the sushi/sashimi is average, but the other cooked dishes are quite nicely done."

  • "Had a business meeting there. Food was quite good and although the restaurant was quite crowded, the seating arrangement was such that you did not feel crowded. The only gaffe was that my appetizer was brought out at the same time as my main dish while my two lunch mates appetizers came out ahead of time."

  • "my friend raved about the one on Park. This is OK but I wouldn't seek it out again if I was in the mood for sushi."

  • "We did the $40 dinner for two email deal from Haru, and so chose from a specific menu. Food was very good but smallish portions for a set price. Food was very good but took way too long to arrive."

  • "I've officially lost count of the number of times we've dined at Haru Sushi. We love it. Especially the fish tacos!! This was a special occasion dinner- my wife's birthday. It's become her favorite NYC restaurant!"

  • "The quality of sushi is slightly above average and is the price. The service was okay, but haphazard at times."

  • "Another good evening and glad to see some new menu items. Lobster gyoza was gorgeous and the special Shrimp Tempura/Avocado sushi roll was scrumptious. Looking forward to my next visit :-)"

  • "I've been to 2 locations of this chain. This is by far the busiest due to the location no doubt. We went for lunch during Restaurant Week but this location was not participating unfortunately. Still, though, the prices aren't too steep and the food is well worth what you do pay. Service was timely and very attentive despite how busy the restaurant was."

  • "Hostess refused to seat me with a reservation until my guest arrived. What's happened to gracious service? It's certainly not to be found at this Times Square factory."

  • "Nice atmosphere, comfortable booths line the walls, the bar always looks busy the times I have been here. The sushi is good, the service sometimes a little harried as the place fills up fast at dinner time. Good for a pre theater sushi fix. Decent sake selection."

  • "Haru Sushi brings many things to the table when it comes to sushi. They provide a nice dim ambiance, EXTREMELY FAST service, and a great waiting and serving staff. The mango lobster ceviche was extremely satisfying. The freshness of all of their sushi accompanied by the ambiance and staff; you cannot complain about haru. It's a nice place. It sticks to what it stands for. Happy with haru."
