Diner Reviews
  • "Back to Harry's Seafood Grill after a long time since our last visit. Celebrated my husband's birthday. Had oysters, appetizer & drinks at the bar. Oysters were fantastic and the bartenders very attentive. Dinner was spectacular! The fish we both had was awesome, but both sides were not very good. The server was nice and accommodating. The wine list was good and we really enjoyed our choice with our meal. Overall a big hit and can't wait to get back again soon."

  • "Harry's is one of those places you can always use to treat yourself or friends. The food is amazing, the personnel highly trained and friendly and the location very convenient."

  • "Food was great and the service was the best I've every had. Our last visit to Harry's was a terrible experience and even though we had had many great meals in the past we were reluctant to return but now I'm so glad we did!"

  • "James, our server provided outstanding review of the menu choices, noting changes since our last visit. Meal choices were excellent, presentation very attractive. Spring dessert choices were excellent all served in an unhurried efficient manner that permitted us to get to the pre-matinee theater talk at the Delaware Theater Company. We will return for the next season of plays."

  • "Given costs, expected more. I also find menu to be a challenge: salmon, mahi-mahi, crab cakes - done that before. Went for Restaurant Week but those selections were not appealing. Recommend shrimp boil appetizer ($17) - great seasoning and dipping sauce (quite spicy) - great for sharing - fabulous when paired with beer. Entrees (Scallops and Mahi Mahi) and dessert (Strawberry Sampler) were very good but not memorable. Seafood foodies may find menu more appealing. Previous trips were more memorable - worth a try. I will give it another go. Knowledgeable, upbeat, attentive server. Decor and riverfront location is very nice."

  • "Glad we returned. And it was during restaurant week so the fixed price menu was out of this world! Even though it was pouring cats and dogs our view of the river and the practicing crewing teams took us away. Thanks for the menu creativity. We'll be back!"

  • "Restaurant was very crowded but our table was ready on time, the food was great and the service excellent. Server was knowledgeable and able to make wine and entrée suggestions."

  • "My husband, daughter and I tried Harry's Seafood Grill while visiting the Wilmington area. We split the seafood nachos, which were well worth the leap of faith of envisioning seafood on tortilla chips. Definitely worth trying! We each had an entree - rockfish, rainbow trout, and crabcakes - and really enjoyed each one. I am picky about seafood, and would pitch the quality of the dishes among higher end (non-chain) seafood restaurants in the Chicago area. Two points for improvement - I had a split of champagne that sat on the table throughout dinner which should have been iced. Wine glasses had markings for small and large pours, a little tacky for a high end restaurant. Overall we enjoyed and will return when we are back!"

  • "Nice location on water near Amtrak. Interesting if somewhat busy menu. Hard sell on the appetizers was off-putting. (Needed time to wade through the menu). Food was good, environment pleasant and service attentive. If I was in the area would eat there again."

  • "The best oysters in Delaware! Always chilled to perfection! Seafood is always fresh and the bar is outstanding! Truly a favorite of ours. You won't be disappointed!"

  • "This is the 4th or 5th time I've had the pleasure of eating at Harry's. I travel for business and make it a point to eat here every time I'm in the Wilmington area. The hot crab and artichoke appetizer is AWESOME!"

  • "My husband and I moved away 14 years ago but we always try to visit Harry's every time we are in Wilmington. It's a consistent experience with great food and professional service. We have also visited the restaurant with young grandchildren and it's never a problem. Kudos to Xavier for a fine establishment!"

  • "Nice selection of fish entries as well as starters and some sushi. This menu utilized a lot of squashes and nuts, both of which I'm allergic to but substituting other veggies wasn't a problem. The entire staff was very nice and accommodating. Our second time and we enjoyed our dinner."

  • "This location has traditionally been one of our favorites. In this case the food was great and the waiter (Dan) provided impeccable service. But when I called that morning to confirm the reservation made on Open Table, I had asked for a "Table," in the bar area, I had been told they would accommodate my request. When we got there that evening we were offered a booth - not a table even though that was what I had requested. We ended up sitting in the LOUD main dinning room which put a pall over the experience and leads me to wonder whether I would recommend to others in the future. Still OK for me because I know the meal is the main attraction, but if I can't say it's perfect to others I would rather not recommend."

  • "It was Saturday, and there's not too much open for lunch in downtown Wilmington. Lucky for us, I had Open Table, so could find an open restaurant nearby with an available reservation! So glad we did! The seafood was totally fresh. The raw bar had great selections, and also the sushi and ceviche menus were great! Got great reviews from my companions about the crabcake, the fish sandwiches, and the salads with seafood. Nice atmosphere right on the river... Only problem, we tried to follow our GPS directions and got lost for about 20 minutes... When we arrived, the hostess said that this is what happens with all GPS systems... so beware!"

  • "This has to be one of the best seafood restaurant's I've had the pleasure to dine at since moving to Delaware. The service was excellent, the food was perfect. This is the perfect place to go for a Romantic dinner, a special occasion or just great food. We can't wait to go back. I would recommend this awesome restaurant to anyone looking for a place that has it all. My compliments to the Chef and all the excellent staff that go into making this establishment what it is....truly memorable."

  • "We met friends here for a Sunday lunch. The service, food and atmosphere was the perfect setting rendezvous. Two of us had the Lobster dinner and is was delicious. One had oysters and tuna and he said they were great. The other had tuna tacos that she enjoyed too."

  • "This was our second time in a month. One or lunch and one for dinner with friends. Both times were great. Excellent food, attentive waiter and waitress staff. Will definitely be back again. Looking forward to visiting when it is warm enough to sit outside."

  • "The food does not live up to expectations. It looks good, not great, on the plate but it falls short on the palate. It's just boring food simply lacking in taste which is really a shame. The scallops were blah, the crab cakes lacked any flavor and the Prorgy was forgettable. The baby spinach salad needed a life preserver to keep from drowning in the dressing. Typical of the food scene in Wilmington. The only saving grace is the oyster selection is pretty good and the wine list and prices are better than the menu items. I will only return here for oysters, wine and the view during the warm weather months."

  • "The raw oysters were great! We also split a few appetizers, which were also very good. Our entrees came out timely, and we all enjoyed them...our plates were clean! Definitely going back soon."

  • "Pleasing lunch time environment ... could be noisy with bar scene at night. Reliable sustainable seafood in a contemporary atmosphere. Intriguing flavors with the freshest of seafood."

  • "Harry's Seafood is a first class restaurant catering to folks who appreciate first class service. Terrific execution from host, to wait, to kitchen to bar team. Popped in for appetizers and drinks before a show last Saturday night at the Grand. Server was mindful of our need to dine and dash and we were promptly seated, served and cared for. The sashimi tasting is an absolute steal - two pieces of ahi, two pieces of salmon, two pieces of yellow tail and two GIANT scallops - all fresh, giant cuts with fresh seaweed salad, ginger on the side. Get this ... even the drinks are grown-up and impressive. I had an old fashioned with a "brandied cherry." Was a wonderful experience all the way around."

We loved the atmosphere of HARRY'S and our server was very friendly and had some very interesting things to say(of course, she was also a very good server). The food was past exceptional, with amazing sauces."

  • "Since the restaurant is near fisherman market. The Seafood is very fresh especially scallop. That is why the scallop sashimi appetizer is great. The other sashimi is not impressing me since sashimi is not just freshness of the seafood. You pay money also for how they cut the fish and present the fish. They also try very hard on the fusion like adding Japanese soba on the side but using the wrong sauce. It just give you a wrong expectation and what the heck is that feeling. It may wow some customer if they never try the soba. It did not impress us at all. It is greatly overpriced. I have a feeling that they waste the fresh ingredient."

  • "We hadn't been to Harry's Seafood in awhile and decided to return, it is convenient to the DTC, the food is good. All started well with our server, Kelly, who never disappointed . Kudos to her...and the busboys who promptly removed dishes. We enjoyed cherrystone clams, petit Caesar salads. My husband enjoyed his scallop dinner, an old favorite. I decided to try something new; I know it was well prepared, the plate attractive; I discovered I really don't care for the flavor, texture of Sturgeon; that is probably why I should stick to old favorites too. Veggies listed are quite exotic;I am happy with something less trendy. We shared yummy white chocolate bread pudding. The wine list, comprehensive; we found a great NZ sauvignon blanc ."
