As always, the food is excellent and the service is superb. The food selection is quite varied and we didn't find anything that we did not like. Why seat people at tables right next together instead of seperating them. It is a true Chicago institution and is a favorite for many here at my workplace. The guests we host appreciate going to a restaurant with local flavor (both figurative and literal) and the food itself is dynamic. Starting with the food: steaks (maybe pricy, but you won't be disappointed), burgers, chicken (esp. the Vesuvio and parm), and even seafood (this time, I had an unbelievable sushi grade tuna steak). Fairly good wine list. Service was excellent all around from front to back; knowlegeable and attentive, but never pressing. The restaurant does have a number of separate rooms, which can be useful for large groups and special occasions. There is, of course, a bar, where I can always be sure there is a black and tan waiting for me. You may not be able to go every night, but if you have a guest flying into Ohare or it's Mothers Day, this is a great place to take them.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Steak in ChicagoAlthough attached to a Holiday Inn hotel (we almost passed based on that alone), this is an excellent restaurant. The decor is "fun" with tons of sports memorabilia, but tastefully upscale. I had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten, a great twice-baked potato, a tomato bisque with bold flavor and a fantastic desert. My mom is recovering from a fall, so we'd decided I was going to fill her plate and bring it to her. We asked our server if she could tell us what was on the buffet, so my mom could choose what she wanted. Our server did one better -- She offered to bring us a list of all the buffet items so Mom could pick exactly what she wanted. This worked out great!
They'd converted the bar room into a huge buffet, and all of our selections were excellent.
