  • "The food is extraordinarily overpriced given the quality which is almost to be expected from what is a highly visible picturesque restaurant across the street from America's oldest state capital. The arugula salad with watermelon consisted of older tough arugula and not so ripe watermelon (this is July; watermelon is in season!). The crabcakes were good, but not worth $34 for the two small crabcakes with shriveled overlooked fingerling potatoes. The coconut trace leches cake was quite nice and worth $8. The signature white wine which was ménage of grape varietals and priced at $12 a glass was disgustingly sweet. Jason, my server, provided absolutely superb service yet for $100 with tip for one person, I would've enjoyed fast food better."

  • "We were recommended Harry Browne's by a regular visitor to Annapolis and found it just wonderful. We booked a table but at 8pm the restaurant was not all that full, which was fine by us. We had a nice quiet table against the wall. We started with appetizers - calamari and lamb lollipops - which were tasty and small enough to whet your appetite. Dinner was rockfish special with cous cous and black cod with roasted gnocchi. We even managed some dessert - although one could not finish hers- that involved their home made ice cream. Wonderful! Jason, our waiter, was just attentive and offered lots of suggestions. He was fun to talk with! Just a wonderful spot to have a quiet dinner."

  • "We went here for a special birthday brunch and I had asked for a window table which I got so was very pleased. However they advertise this as having free glass of Champagne with the meal, it isn't. It is cheap, nasty fizzy wine. The food was good but the waitress rather surly and tried to give us our bill long before we were ready for it. They charged extra for coffee which I thought was a bit mean as we were paying $21.95 each anyway. The most friendly person was the guy who made the excellent omelettes."

  • "Recommend Valet Parking for $5, located on busy State Circle in Annapolis where parking can be difficult. Bar upstairs, restaurant downstairs- which reduces noise level dramatically as compared to other restaurants where the bar and dining room are side by side. We've a 3 year old, no kids menu but with restaurants such as this, they will accommodate. Decent top shelf available, food is very good. Waiter was knowledgeable, professional with the rare occasion of touching you on the back of your shoulder. (a friendly gesture but may offend some who don't like "touchy feely" servers. Establishment is better than most in the area. If I had to produce a criticism, it's that it lacks a view...otherwise very good dining experience."

  • "There were 4 of us for Mother's Day brunch. Brunch included a glass of wine, mimosa, or non alcoholic beverage but strangely didn't include coffee which I thought was a little lame considering brunch was $30/person. The brunch buffet included: Maryland crab soup, green salad, pasta salad, oysters, spiced shrimp (which were extremely good!), huevos rancheros casserole (the only real dud), bacon, maple sausage, chicken, warm pasta dish, creamed fingerling potatoes, salt baked whole salmon (so moist and delicious), roast beef, profiteroles, mini donuts, fruit, cheese. We all got our fill, for sure. If the weather's nice the outside tables have a sensational view of the capitol."

  • "This used to be a very good restaurant, a great choice for special occasions. Sadly, it no longer is. While our starter butternut squash raviolis were divine, both our main courses were very disappointing. My "strip sirloin" was a mystery cut, was tough and a bit overdone. My husband's fish was also just adequate. I think they have moved to a lower price point for their meals but that has taken a toll on the quality of the food. This is no longer a go-to restaurant."

  • "My wife and I were in Annapolis for the night and had drinks and dinner at Harry Browne's. We had cocktails in the upstairs lounge, nicely separated from the main dinning room. The lounge does have several tables and offers their own food menu for those that don't want to use the more formal dining room. The service was outstanding! and the food was perfect. Started off with the cream of crab soup, if you are a fan this is a must. We both ordered the same dish, the crab crusted filet, which was cooked perfectly. The desert was home made ice cream which was delightful. If you want to have a memorable dinner experience in Annapolis, this is the place."

  • "Dining at Harry Browne's restaurant is an exceptional experience. There is abar up a long flight of stairs and a dining room at street level. The decor is traditional with pressed ti n ceilings. During Restaurant week we were an hour late but they still seated us and the staff was friendly. The table had a view of the State Capitol. The fare is mostly hearty portions of proteinand spuds but the salads are nice. My Reuben sandwich was made by generous hands and the wine was well received. Make sure you allow time to find parking because MD legislaure is open now; there are 3 garages nearby."
