  • "My wife and I were in Annapolis for the night and had drinks and dinner at Harry Browne's. We had cocktails in the upstairs lounge, nicely separated from the main dinning room. The lounge does have several tables and offers their own food menu for those that don't want to use the more formal dining room. The service was outstanding! and the food was perfect. Started off with the cream of crab soup, if you are a fan this is a must. We both ordered the same dish, the crab crusted filet, which was cooked perfectly. The desert was home made ice cream which was delightful. If you want to have a memorable dinner experience in Annapolis, this is the place."

The ambiance was not special and with the service the food would have to be spectacular for me to return and it wasn't that special. I believe this is more a place to be seen than to enjoy a meal"

  • "Dining at Harry Browne's restaurant is an exceptional experience. There is abar up a long flight of stairs and a dining room at street level. The decor is traditional with pressed ti n ceilings. During Restaurant week we were an hour late but they still seated us and the staff was friendly. The table had a view of the State Capitol. The fare is mostly hearty portions of proteinand spuds but the salads are nice. My Reuben sandwich was made by generous hands and the wine was well received. Make sure you allow time to find parking because MD legislaure is open now; there are 3 garages nearby."

  • "We went during Restaurant Week. The food was delicious. Particularly the scallop appetizer and desserts. We all had the filet and as usual it was tender and cooked perfectly. The price for Restaurant Week was $32.95 for appetizer, main course and dessert. The portions reflected the discount price. They were fine for us, as we are not big eaters but if you are a big eater or very hungry you may want order from the regular menu. It was a lovely evening with excellent ambiance and service!"

  • "My husband and i went to harry brownes for annapolis restaurant week--we'd never been there and had heard good things. All 3 courses were were divine. We both got the filet and they were perfectly prepared with to die for bleu cheese sauce. Service was great. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that we were seated near the door so got cold air and traffic past the table and tables are close together so it was not easy to have a private conversation and impossible not to hear conversations of those around us. Maybe if one has a special occasion you could request or wait for a more private table. But overall our experience was extremely positive ."

  • "Overall, the dinner was better than the food. The atmosphere is nice, service is great, but the menu felt (and tasted) like the chef was trying too hard. Filet with lump crab meat... and creamy mushroom sauce. Coquille St Jacques, of course was very rich - throw in a fried risotto/cheese ball. Wedge Bibb salad... with salted, cured ham. The lobster corn fritters were basically just cornbread with lobster stuffed in it. We ate the lobster but the fritter didn't really complement the lobster, so we ate around it. The only thing that wasn't overly done was the Caesar salad, which was actually pretty bland. Although I'm sure some people will swear by the restaurant, and it is nice, I've spent less $ on better food."

  • "This place is awesome ... as always. Just a short walk from the Naval Academy with a nice view of the state capital building. The food is simply incredible. Have had the rack of lamb and various seafood dishes there. All were outstanding. The place is fairly small and cozy, elegant but not stuffy. I like to think of myself as a vegan, but not a strict one since I regularly eat seafood, chicken, beef, lamb, pork, eggs, and dairy products. But other than that, I do my best. If you like to eat, you'll love this place. If you don't really like good food, you probably shouldn't be reading reviews on OpenTable."

  • "Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience at Harry Brown's. It was Christmas Eve and the restaurant was sold out. The service was terrible and slow. They took 15 minutes to get beer and we had to remind them that we ordered it! They served us soup without a plate under it and handed it to us! The main dish was fine. The dessert was awful. A plate of cakes that were dry and tasteless. This was a pre-fix special menu for the Christmas Eve dinner. We were charged $55 each (not including drinks). We will not go back. Too many other great places to go to in Annapolis."

  • "Very expensive, with no bells and whistles! I went for my birthday on Dec. 21 because of the great reviews. Finding parking was a nightmare. Even with a reservation, we were seated in a far back corner of the restaurant near the bar and the air-conditioner was turned on with a vent over my head. I could not get comforable to enjoy anything because it was so cold. I wanted to get up and leave, but my husband said just stay and get it over with, we won't go back."

  • "We have been to Harry Browne's about 5 times since moving back here a few years ago. I used to go there 20+ years ago before I moved away from Annapolis. It is hands-down our favorite restaurant in the city. We love their unique Table-side Cesar salad (Try finding that somewhere else!). The salad is one of the main reasons we love this restaurant. We also love the view of the State House and they friend oysters....yummy! Their cosmopolitans are great too!"

  • "A small restaurant on State Circle. We were there for lunch on a Sunday and discovered they have a Sunday brunch. I ordered French Onion Soup and spinach salad with salmon from brunch entrees. Soup served steaming hot in bowl, delicious and not too salty. Spinach salad and salmon had a mustard flavored dressing--delicious! Others in the party did the buffet that included a carving station, omelette making station, salad bar, creamed chipped beef, potatoes, soup of the day, vegetables, a made-to-order belgian waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, and delicious cheese cake desert, accompanied by wine or champagne. We look forward to our next visit."
