Our server came to our table twice trying to order cocktails as he didn't notice I already had one sitting in front of me. Our server was never in the area when we needed something or the table behind us. The family's table behind us waited 20 minutes for a side of a-1 sauce for their steak. A little rediculous as You pay $50.00 for a steak. Our server deff did not deserve the $33.00 tip that was left for him. I will return back to the restraunt as the food is amazing. The entrees were amazing as well. The place is clean and with good light. Just little dark but OK. Service personable, attentive and receptive - when we wanted more time Lou knew exactly when to check back in without hovering or forgetting us. St. Elmos shrimp still a hit. Menu more current. NY Strip Izzy style was excellent, particularly with the Dry Creek Zin. Filet melted in mouth. Salmon was delicious and an enormous serving. All 3 in party continued to talk about the green beans -- they were perfectly tender and delicious. Defeinitely worthy of return visit. One of my guests left saying it was her new favorite restaurant in Indiana, having dined many places. The only thing I should bring up is that I once had pork chops at the location doentown, and for some reason, those were phenomenal while the ones on the north side were definitely below par.
The filet sliders are amazing. The fish superbly done. The lobster and corn chowder was ok, but could use a little more flavor. It just seemed a little off somehow. I definitely appreciate the lumps of lobster though. No complaints in that regard.
Nice staff. Great food. We will come back again and again. The connection to St. Elmo's is evident, and the shrimp cocktail is a must! There was confusion on the wait staff on who was serving our table. Because we were a party of eight, they automatically tacked on a 20% gratuity...something that they didn't tell us they would do up front. Our waiter took care to let us know in advance that the Northside portions were smaller, but they were still generous. Our waiter made the day enjoyable for everyone, even the jokester grandfather.
